Last week I wrote about director-performer Michael Lucas and his big-budget XXX twist on “Dangerous Liaisons.” The final scene involved many extras and celebrity cameos, including RuPaul, the Lady Bunny and others, including “Village Voice” columnist Michael Musto, who spoke to me about the shoot. He revealed more about the shoot in a recent column: “I can finally say I worked with Gus Mattox and it’s chatting in a fucking nightclub! I’m referring to the highbrow cameo I just shot in Michael Lucas’s dirty version of ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ — not rimming, fisting or felching, mind you, just innocently posing around a gallery scene filmed at Quo, where the only fluffing was of my peanut butter sandwich.”

The gay skin trade recently crossed into the mainstream in an unusual way. If you pay attention to liberal and progressive news blogs, the strange and sordid tale of “Jeff Gannon” is already familiar. The mainstream media is now running with the story. Mr. Gannon, whose real name is James Guckert, was unmasked as a journalist with shaky credentials and a shady past whose access to the White House press room is being questioned. Further, it appears Mr. Gannon has also worked as a gay escort selling his services for two-hundred bucks an hour. Can you imagine the uproar if this had happened in a Democratic White House?

The feature documentary “Inside Deep Throat” opened this past weekend to glowing reviews, including two thumbs up from you-know-who, and a strong first weekend at the box office. And as I wrote last week, about ten prints of the original “Deep Throat” are going out in select cities, and you should catch it for shits and giggles if nothing else. Hardcore sex is sneaking into more and more “mainstream” film which makes for an interesting time to be a porno fan. More on that in a future column.

The “Adams Report” staff has done some parsing of the latest batch of GAYVN nominations. That is, on breaks from fantasizing about the young buck in that Expedia.com commercial with the frumpy office drone fantasizing about going on vacation and sharing a towel with a tanned, sweaty, Australian volleyball stud. Ah, so many men, so little time. Anyway, the trophy ceremony will take place March 10th in West Hollywood. Their website is Gayvnawards.com. And, as I say every year, if you’re a horny consumer on the hunt for good porn, a list of nominations is an excellent place to start.
