This week we’re going mainstream as Rupaul’s new independent film snags more gay porn actors, Gus Mattox and his blog get noticed Down Under, Hunter James appears in Italian “Vogue” and Michael Lucas wants to make your cell phone vibrate, plus a whole pile of pornsters get their very own lavish photo book.

A few weeks ago I wrote in this space about gay porn companies getting ahead of the game with hardcore content that can be downloaded directly to handheld devices like a BlackBerry, cell phones and those new Video iPod thingies. Now there’s another studio adapting to the digital age. “There is not enough gay porn on iPods,” proclaimed a press release from Lucas Entertainment. “And we’ve stepped in and done something about this atrocity.”

SAN FRANCISCO - Falcon Studios announced today that its principal officer and president, Terry Mahaffey, died on Sunday, October 30 from “complications resulting from cancer treatment,” per the official press statement. Mr. Mahaffey died at home with his partner, Michael Scott, by his side. A memorial service in San Francisco will be held November 12th.

In 2004, Terry Mahaffey formed 3 Media Corporation — together with business partners Steve Johnson and Todd Montgomery — and purchased Falcon Studios from the Charles M. Holmes Foundation. “Chuck” Holmes founded the powerhouse studio and was a mentor to Terry Mahaffey, who was brought to Falcon in 1996 by Mr. Holmes. “Throughout his tenure with the company,” read today’s press release, Mr. Mahaffey “provided the creative vision, attention to detail, and commitment to quality that enabled Falcon Studios to maintain its leadership in the industry.”

It’s kinda slow in GayPornLand right now. A chunk of the industry is in Berlin for the ninth annual Venus Show, one of the world’s largest “erotica trade fairs” (per their description). A bunch of frantic emails did come in over the transom gasping that Jeff Palmer had died; apparently, they didn’t read my column last week, because the guy who passed on was someone else with the same name, not our Jeff. Otherwise, there’s not a whole helluva lot to report. This week’s offerings include a hurricane watch update from gay porn denizens in South Florida, sightings of our boys out on the town, Tiger Tyson in print, and a report from the set of Jason Sechrest’s first movie as a director. On with the show…

This week in the “Adams Report” it’s another “Sex” Degrees of Separation as we examine the latest bits of casting news and pick out another two imaginatively titled flicks. Plus, further on down the column: Jeff Palmer is not dead, Brad Patton goes online, COLT Studio gets technical and All Worlds throws an orgy.

CASTING ABOUT
Euro-hotties Claudio Antonelli, Kevin Cage, Fredy Costa, Glenn Santoro and Evan Rochelle (whose cock is eye-poppingly long and thick) are among the stunning hunks anchoring PASSIONS OF WAR 4: MANEUVERS from All Worlds International and mononamed director Eugene’s Blue Lagoon Pictures… Fredy Costa also turns up in a cast of sixteen gentlemen in SCORE! from High Octane and director Herve Handsome…

It’s news by the numbers as we sweep away the press releases cluttering the desk of an itinerant porn reporter. This week: Jason Adonis changes his mind, Jet Set signs fresh meat, two mainstream magazines discover gay porn (again), Titan raises money, COLT makes underwear, and more. Dive in, the water’s fine:

1.) Hunky Jason Adonis caused a stir a few weeks ago with the announcement that he would bottom on screen for the first time in a Jet Set movie. Well, never mind. The deal fell through. This is the third time a movie project between Mr. Adonis and Jet Set has fallen apart. On Jasonadonis.com, the performer notes: “I do think Jet Set is a great company and that they have made a lot of great movies, but since we have had our differences, I am glad that I didn’t go through with it.”

It is with sadness this week that I am obliged to report on the passing of one of our own. As originally reported on GAYVN.com, leather star and AIDS activist Troy Steele died September 26, 2005 of AIDS at the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. He was 43 years old. His family was with him at the time of his death and a memorial service was held September 29th in Palm Springs.
