The Adams Report by J.C. Adams – October 3 – 9, 2005

It is with sadness this week that I am obliged to report on the passing of one of our own. As originally reported on, leather star and AIDS activist Troy Steele died September 26, 2005 of AIDS at the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. He was 43 years old. His family was with him at the time of his death and a memorial service was held September 29th in Palm Springs.

Although Mr. Steele (whose real name was Scott Saunders) amassed a voluminous and varied list of credits as a sex star, his life’s work was AIDS activism. He worked closely with Aid for AIDS in Los Angeles and for his efforts was given the Leo Ford Humanitarian Award at the 1996 Gay Erotic Video Awards ceremony. I was present for that show and remember Mr. Steele was deeply moved by the acclamation.

Mr. Steele had worked in recent years as a talent agent. His legacy will live on in his many videos for Jet Set Productions, Oh Man! Studios, U.S. Male, Video 10 and others. He appeared in dozens of movies in a career that spanned a decade, itself a notable feat. His most notable films occurred early in his career. Among them are GOODFELLAS/BAD FELLAS (Brick House Entertainment, 1996; d. Paul Barresi); LEATHER TRAINING CENTER (Leather Entertainment, 1995; d. John Simms); MARINE CODE OF SILENCE (John Summers Productions, 1996; d. Barresi); and WEAR IT OUT (Spectrum Video, 1995; d. Jamie Hendrix).

Troy Steele was a visible member of the supporting cast of the gay porn “brat pack” that ran together from 1988 through 1994, the year founding member Joey Stefano died (other members included directrix Chi Chi LaRue, the late Geoffrey Karen Dior, the late Christian Murphy, O Boys founder Alan Gassman, Sharon Kane, Johnny Rey, director Crystal Crawford, reviewer Mickey Skee and a number of others).

Mr. Steele’s death from AIDS is the first since director/performer Geoffrey Karen Dior’s passing in August 2004, and the fifth (that I know about) this decade, after Falcon Studios founder Chuck Homes (September 2000); Brett Ford (December 2001) and the great Mason Flynt (January 2002).

Meanwhile, the world grinds ever on and on. Did you notice the porn stars during this year’s Emmy Awards telecast? If you regularly watch the Emmy Awards you might recall a tradition that has sprung up when the nominees are announced in the Writing for a Variety/Music Series category. As these programs typically have a large staff of writers they have taken to producing little comedy bits with incongruous footage as the many names are read aloud (for example, instead of head shots of the various nominees you’d see monkeys banging away at typewriters, that sort of thing). This year, the writers for HBO’s “Da Ali G Show” were up for an award. As their names were read, you might have noticed they used shots of male porn stars in full climax to accompany each nominated writer. The audience roared with laughter. But you want to know what’s really funny? Some television reviewers thought those porn clips were actually the real “Ali G” writers.

Anyway, if you were curious about their identities they were all straight porn actors. (What, no gay guys?) Among the skin stars featured was the scorching hot Tommy Gunn, Rick Patrick, Steven St. Croix and Paschal St. James. (Tommy Gunn, by the way, is the cover hottie for Rascal Video’s upcoming STR8 SHOTS 2, the solo video series where hetero porn stars wank it for the gay market).

NEW RELEASE DESK has another batch of flicks from boutique studios on the menu. From Pat & Sam comes STRAIGHT MOUNTAIN BOYS (“A hot Marine in uniform. A fuzzy big-dicked stud boy. A humpy straight stud with a big fatty…”); Rudeboiz has the eponymously titled RUDEBOIZ filmed on location in London with some very cute U.K. pups; and Next Door Male has NEIGHBORHOOD 6-PACK VOL. 6, a vanilla solo video with some unusually attractive newcomers.

All Worlds Video has MARS NEEDS MEN with a gorgeous Jason Ridge cover. From writer/director Jett Blakk, the picture also stars Nick Capra, Jason Crew, Mario Cruz, Luciano Haas, Jason Hawke, Brett Matthews, Ty Hudson and Troy Punk, all of whom have been busy this year (as you will see below).

Another AWV flick is PORN STRUCK IX with new exclusive Buc Wyld (now THAT is what you call a porn name!) on the cover. He headlines a cast that includes mostly newcomers: Aiden Binks, Tober Brandt, Kai Craven, Jason Crew (that guy never stops working), Eric Hunter, Campbell McRyan, Bill Ray, Shy Richey (how cute is that name?), Sledge Sawyer, Jordan Vaughn and Marc Winters. More details on both is at

The busy Jett Blakk has another flick on tap, this one for Arena Entertainment: YOUNG HUSBANDS ON THE DOWN LOW. “When the wives are away,” intones the DVD promotional copy, “the men will…SUCK EACH OTHER’S COCKS! Hardcore ass banging, cock stroking, cum spewing sex with hot men who love their wives, but still crave hard dicks!” Don’t we all? Costars include some familiar faces: Nick Capra, Luciano Haas, Corbin Michaels, Rob Romoni, Jacob Slader and sexy newbie Chet White. is the website.

Copies of Falcon’s highly-touted CROSS COUNTRY arrived in the mail to reviewers this week. Hottie Roman Heart adorns the cover of Part One, showing off his ripped and tanned torso, while buffed out Erik Rhodes displays an awesome, gravity-defying ass on the cover of Part Two. The promotional package includes a CROSS COUNTRY mouse pad (featuring Messrs. Heart and Rhodes with Matthew Rush, all three grinning on the deck of a boat in the ocean) and a lavish quasi-travel brochure that folds out to a gigantic CROSS COUNTRY poster that again prominently features Roman Heart’s beautiful face, surrounded by images from the movies of the rest of the cast doing what they do best.

The films were written by Jack Shamama and Mike Stabile of and directed by Chris Steele. Part One features Falcon Exclusives Roman Heart, Ethan Kage, Dean Monroe (sigh…), Brad Patton (although his exclusive contract recently ended), Erik Rhodes and Lifetime Exclusive Matthew Rush (who is now dating Mr. Kage). Costars include Roger Beresford, Benjamin Bradley (who is dating Mr. Heart), Andrew Bryant, Maxx Diesel, Peter Morales, Pete Ross, Alex Rossi and Jon Valentino.

PART TWO features Messrs. Heart, Monroe, Rhodes and Rush with fellow Exclusives Tyler Marks, Kane O’Farrell (le sigh…), Joe Sport and Derrik Vinyard (on whom I am crushing slightly) with Trey Casteel, Maxx Diesel, Franco Dimera, Ethan Hunter, Mike Power and Dakota Rivers.

The press release describes CROSS COUNTRY thusly: “…two adventure seekers embark on the journey of a lifetime in search of the ultimate prize: a priceless Maori totem and an unforgettable piece of ass.” Now that’s what I call a vacation! As I’ve mentioned in previous columns, Falcon is offering a trip to New Zealand to one lucky fan via a sweepstakes at (And stay tuned to the “Adams Report” in the coming weeks for an interview with Mr. Roman Heart.)

My latest flick for All Worlds Video, SEX WITH STRANGERS, will be made available for retail in a few weeks, October 21st. This week, October 6th, costar Caleb Carter will be making an appearance at “COCKtails with the Stars” at Micky’s nightclub in West Hollywood to promote SEX WITH STRANGERS and his other flicks this year, including AMG RESURRECTION: A NEW BEGINNING for which his “anal beads scene” is a likely awards contender. In my movie, he and Jacob Slader share scorching chemistry in a locker room scene that I barely had to direct. Very hot. Go to for details.

Elsewhere, my FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS for RAD Video will be available soon. Costars include Mr. Carter (I know a good thing when I find it!) with Jason Crew, Jason Longh, Brett Matthews, cutie newcomer Trevor Matthews and Corbin Michaels. Keep an eye on for specifics.
