HOLLYWOOD — The gay porn landscape has dramatically shifted with today’s announcement that distributor Channel 1 Releasing has acquired rival studio All Worlds Video. The stunning news was announced today on GAYVN.com and the website notes that the acquisition “makes Channel 1/All Worlds the largest gay owned and operated gay-adult entertainment company in the world.”

Based in Hollywood, Channel 1 Releasing was formed in 1998 and is the home of directrix Chi Chi LaRue’s Rascal Video; the San Diego-based All Worlds Video was founded in 1985 by legendary producer/director Rick Ford. The GAYVN.com article notes Mr. Ford “will continue to be a strong influence in the All Worlds Video line.”

It’s quiet in GayPornLand this Easter week and time to throw together another buffet of tidbits from various corners of the industry. We’ve got scoop on Roman Heart, Ken Ryker, Billy Brandt, Brett Matthews and Brad Rock. Elsewhere, COLT Studio is marketing up a storm and director Thor Stephans is fulfilling a two-decades-old dream. Plus, delicious Jean Franko and I are having trouble communicating. Rack ‘em up, boys!

Lots to talk about this week in GayPornLand. Wash West’s Sundance hit finally lands a distributor, Chi Chi goes to Johns Hopkins and Michael Lucas sounds off on porn awards. Plus, two helpings of scandal as John Paulus goes after Clay Aiken online and Joey Milano defends his controversial decision to go bareback onscreen. Dive on in!

This week we’ve got two helpings of controversy: First we have novelist John Rechy examining erotic artist Tom of Finland in an unusual new light. And the bareback fires are stoked yet again (sigh…) by gorgeous newcomer Joey Milano. Plus, a high school coach gets fired for his gay porn past, another reviewer morphs into a director and other bits and pieces of this-and-that. On with the show…

LAMBERT STEPS BEHIND CAMERA
Longtime reviewer Vincent Lambert recently put down his pen and stepped behind the camera to direct his first XXX scene — and he was inspired to do so by, ahem, me. He helmed a scene for the forthcoming ENCOUNTERS 2 for Lucas Entertainment.

* A few weeks ago in this space I hinted about a major shakeup in GayPornLand. It’s finally been made official what we’ve known for weeks: Studio 2000 has been sold. Dave McKay, formerly a consultant to Falcon Studios, is the new big cheese. Legendary studio founders Scott Masters and John Travis will stay on board. More details in next week’s column…

* Directrix Chi Chi LaRue will be a featured speaker April 8th at “Awareness Days” sponsored by the Diverse Sexuality and Gender Alliance of Johns Hopkins University…

This week in “The Adams Report by J.C. Adams” we’re sweeping our overloaded desk clear of press releases, screeners and stray bits of this-and-that. We’ve got bits on the late Austin Black, reigning Best Newcomer Roman Heart, Caleb Carter and Trevor Matthews‘ MTV adventure, and new exclusive performers from Rascal Video (Simon Angel, Cole Ryder) and Titan Media (Cole Ryan). Plus a peek at the 2006 “Gay Chicago Magazine” Grabby Award nominations. Onward and upward…
