WASH WEST’S QUINCEANERA AN INDIE SPIRIT NOMINEE
HOLLYWOOD, CA — The 2007 Independent Spirit Awards today nominated Wash Westmoreland and Richard Glatzer’s indie hit Quinceanera (Sony Classics) for a John Cassavetes Award, which is given to the best feature film made for under $500,000.
The trophy is presented to the writer, director and producer of the film; Quinceanera was produced by Anne Clements. Earlier this year, Quinceanera earned both the audience award and jury award at the Sundance Film Festival.
Other nominees in the category include the films Chalk, Four Eyed Monsters, Old Joy and Twelve and Holding.

DENVER, COLORADO — [11/29/06 update] Court TV is reporting that Timothy Boham was due in a Denver courtroom Wednesday, 11/29/06, to be arraigned on charges he shot Denver businessman John P. Kelso to death. He faces charges of felony murder and aggravated robbery. He is currently being held without bond.
