HOLLYWOOD, CA — Legendary director Matt Sterling has died. Per a report on GAYVN.com, the helmer died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood of “a motor neuron disease he was diagnosed with 18 years ago.” Sterling’s friend and fellow director, John Travis, notified the industry of Mr. Sterling’s passing.

One of the founders of gay adult entertainment and a GAYVN Hall of Fame inductee, Matt Sterling’s career stretched across four decades, including his Brentwood Studios label and the famed Huge Video line, through which he produced and directed such acclaimed titles as BIG & THICK (1984), BIGGER THAN LIFE (1986), A MATTER OF SIZE (1983) and TRADEWINDS (1996).

Mr. Sterling’s work with industry legends stand as some of gay adult’s best, including HEAT OF THE NIGHT with Rex Chandler (1989), IDOL EYES with Ryan Idol (1990) and STRYKER FORCE with Jeff Stryker (1987). In recent years, he produced FEAST YOUR EYES (2002) and A MATTER OF SIZE 2 (2005).
