LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — Performer and physique model Brett Mycles has died. A retired Jet Set Exclusive and a popular member of the bodybuilding circuit, Mr. Mycles, whose real name was Rob Sager, apparently passed in his sleep Saturday, February 24 in Las Vegas. Fellow performer Zeb Atlas conveyed the news to agent David Forest, who notified the industry. The cause is said to be congestive heart failure.

NEW YORK CITY — Conservative commentator Bill O’Reilly used his “O’Reilly Factor” Fox News program tonight, February 28th, to harshly criticize San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom for declaring February 23 as “COLT Studio Day” in honor of the company’s 40th anniversary.

“The mayor of San Francisco [signed] a proclamation honoring a gay porn outfit,” an outraged Mr. O’Reilly teased before a commercial break. “[You’re] not gonna believe it!” Before a second commercial break he teased again, “Can it be true?”

GAYVN Weekend Update: COLT Studio’s 40th Anniversary Bash

San Francisco, Calif. — Hundreds of guests converged on the San Francisco War Memorial in San Francisco for COLT Studio’s mega-bash celebrating their 40th anniversary. Spotlights raked the sky, a red carpet lined the sidewalk and seminude waiters (in COLT-brand undies, natch) kept the crowd fed and liquored-up. It was the biggest bash GayPornLand has seen in years.

San Francisco Councilman Mark Leno presented COLT’s John Rutherford with a special citation, comedian Alec Mapa delivered blisteringly funny standup (he was carried onstage, wearing a ball gag in his mouth, by COLT Exclusives Darin Hawk and Gage Weston) and fellow studio exclusive Carlo Masi popped out of a giant cake to deliver an erotic stripdown as cameras flashed.

GAYVN Weekend in San Francisco

Already the streets are even thicker with porn stars than usual (Mario Cruz zipping down one street jamming to his iPod, Colby Taylor dashing out of a local bar, boyfriends and COLT studs Carlo Masi and Adam Champ strolling out of a local hotel, hand-in-hand…and all of this just in one afternoon.)

Twin VOD behemoths NakedSword.com and MaleFlixxx.com held dueling receptions Thursday night; the former at San Francisco’s esteemed GLBT Historical Archives where porn biz luminaries like GayPornBlog.com’s Jack Shamama, writer Jeffrey Escoffier, camera doyenne Mr. Pam and others ooh’ed and aah’ed over vintage erotica dating back six (!) decades.

NEW YORK CITY, NY — Lucas Entertainment has been sued in U.S. District Court by International Media Films, Inc., owners of the copyright to Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita, over the release of MICHAEL LUCAS’ LA DOLCE VITA. The suit alleges trademark and copyright violations and seeks unspecified damages and to stop sales of the films, which were released in December.
