UPDATE: Danny Roddick News & Industry Response

GayPornLand continues to recover from the sad and shocking news of the death of performer Danny Roddick. He was just 31 years old. I did some investigating and the exact cause of death is being withheld pending further investigation. There’s been a lot of speculation around the internets as to how and why Mr. Roddick passed and why the cause has not been announced. There is no conspiracy, people. Just routine investigation.
Danny Roddick debuted two years ago together with his then-boyfriend, Alex Chandler, who was kind enough to leave a note in the comments section to our original story. Scroll down to read the full text as well as notes of condolence left by Mr. Roddick’s peers. "At this time we are all numb and dealing with the shock of this tragedy," Mr. Chandler wrote. "Nothing can prepare you for this. He was loved by so many. He was my rock… For now, we need to sit back and remember all of the brightness he brought to so many of the people he touched."

I know how he died, I was there the day he was found. It’s a shame how he went, I hope he can find some peace now.
Please don’t do that. Don’t come on a site, say you have all of this information and be anonymous. If you know, but don’t want to say anything, fine. Just keep quiet. Don’t sully the man’s memory with silly old gossip.

I’ve been looking to see if there are any services planned as well. Please let us know. We use to hang out with Matt in Sac and can’t believe this has happened. Thanks for not feeding into all the rumors. He did not intentionally take his life. Matt would never have done that. It was a miscalculation of prescription drugs vs drugs that were already in his system. So damn sad. A true loss. Please continue to keep us informed about all of this. Thanks!

Very sad news, my deepest condolences to all his loved ones.
I knew him from our childhood. i will miss him allot. i just ran into him recently at the pride. what ashame. when is the funeral or a viewing? does anybody out there know if so please let me know. thank you in advance.

i worked with matt briefly as an intern when i was still in school and he was sweet and silly and fun…
i always enjoyed his company and am sad that this has happened…

it is a shame! I live near 15 Amber where it all happened and it was quite a scene that morning.
Allegedly, it was a drug overdose. I heard that him and his partner were heavy users.
I do remember Matt saying that he had a heart condition, that has to have something to do with his death…
It really is strange that the family refuses to put out an obituary and that the official cause of death is being kept a secret. It’s obvious those closest to this death already know the cause of death. Not revealing it adds a very sad and creepy factor to all of this. It’s like everyone is scrambling for cover and won’t say much.
The Ex lover doesn’t want to carry the burden that he didn’t help out much when it came to some emotional problems Matt had so he wants to point at Colt. Some, not all, of those associated with Colt ( Kris Weston ) have changed their stories several times as to how much personal info they were aware of in regard to Matt.
Personally, I can’t see how anyone but Matt or those closest to him should feel guilty that he couldn’t sustain his own life and be responsible with the choices he made when it came to drugs and questionable relationships.
I think it was a very nice gesture that Colt even wants to give to a charity in memory of Matt when his own family won’t even aknowledge he’s gone.
It’s like everyone is afraid to mention his name because there is something else going on.
This is just my opinion. I think he took his own life and the family, true close friends and the ex want to play it down. The studio is trying their hardest not to add more problems to this situation so they aren’t publically saying anything.

all this drama sure didn’t stop Alex Chandler from partying it up at Folsom over the weekend. What a sad life and lonely life these folks must lead.
I agree anonymous. I saw him out as well. This did not look like a grieving man who had tragically lost the love of his life. I was stunned seeing him there. This didn’t look like a man who had learned a harsh lesson about drugs and alcohol. This did not look like a man who felt the Porn Industry had done him wrong. I’m beginning to think Matt wasn’t the only one with psychological problems.
At first I felt bad for Darin but now I’m thinking he is a slick con artist who played a key role in Matts death by being a bitch while they were split appart. I’ve heard stories from reliable sources that suggest Darin wouldn’t leave Matt alone and played on his emotions. I also found out that Matt was actually dating someone at the time of his death. Darin tells a different story. Makes it sound like they were going to get back together and thats not at all what I’ve heard.
I think those that gave Darin a voice feeling bad for him initially now feel they were played by a slick talker and the only reason he came forward was because he knew the truth might get out so he tried to control some of the situation and get the blame put on someone else. He says Colt shouldn’t have sent Matt to Brazil. Well if Darin was so close to him why didn’t he step in and make sure he didn’t go? If he saw how down Matt was why didn’t he get him help? His story and his current actions don’t add up at all.
I just don’t get any of this. No obituary. No revealing his real name. No funeral until “some time” in Oct. I cannot even find a police report in any paper that states a man was found dead. There will be No funeral given by his parents but just friends. What the hell? No cause of death revealed because there is an “investigation.” Whats left to investigate?
What would there be left to investigate? This is all too odd. If anyone pushes wanting any information then we are told to just let him R.I.P. How the hell do you do that when you don’t even properly aknowledge he’s gone? Or that you reveal honestly how he went?
Matt was a great guy, I hung out with him a couple of days before his passing. Though sad, but true, Matt was doing a lot of drugs. Some sources say he passed away from a mix of G and Alcohol. Though its a little strange that someone like Matt, would mix both knowing the result. Matt was counting the days for his soon-to-end contract with Colt. He wanted to switch to modeling though knew he would have a hard time changing to that. As far as the people who claim matt was their rock or an important part of their life, two weeks later they were all partying it up on folsom and Love parade.
Matt was a great guy, his afflition to orchids and love for butterflyes was charming. He cared for people and was looking forward to a new start.
Matt was a very polite and beautiful modelling artist and adult performer. I will greatly miss him even only knowing him a few days, he had a way to connect with people. He was a very secure and caring friend even while cutting my hair for me on the Colt shoot. Anyone half as determined and dignified as him would NEVER let anything as common as any INDUSTRY break him down. He had a strong and sure way of his work and future. He has touched my heart and many alike. In such a short time of knowing him, I considered him to be close like my brother.
To try and “speak my mind” yet some more, anyone who doesn’t know what they are talking about or even think they want to post a bitch comment about a beautiful artist now free of all your hate or jealousy, simply don’t. And as freely as I wildy will, I say go fuck yourselves if you are that ugly of a person.
