My name is Jennifer. Dave and I were the best of friends! In fact, he is, in all honesty, one of the truest, kindest & best friends anyone could ever ask for, myself included~ even to this day!!! We lived in LA, in the same apartment building, for quite some time. He was quiet about his public life, except his music, and only shared his personal life with a select privileged few, such as myself. We knew each other, ups & downs, only too well. I had the fortune of spending precious time with Dave…going to farmer’s market every weekend together, helping him get ready for a musical performance, him helping me getting ready for my gigs, (we were night & day there & enjoyed laughs over it!), having regular pot luck dinners & celebrations on the porch, grocery shopping, hanging out in each others apartment for a good laugh (or cry), and even going to the doctor’s office together (for company or to hold hands) when needed. He loved his nephews VERY much and spoke of them all the time! He was ALWAYS concerned about their well-being, and wanted to make sure that they would be ok in life, no matter what obstacles they would have to over come, for they were his pride and joy. That’s why I’m writing this. I knew in my heart, he had passed some time ago and for some reason, closure I guess, I just had to look him up now. I noticed a comment from one of his nephews and I pray that they receive this! He held you each in his toughts, prayers and heart at all times! Wanting the best life you could each possibly have!!! I truly believe in angels and that they can only help those on earth if you ask for their help and guidance, for they are not able to interfere without your permission!!! Dave, the REAL Dave, was in life an angel, and I see no reason for him to want to stop that mission especially now. Our last phone call to each other was 7 years ago. Our very last words to each other, happily, the usual…”I Love You Lots!” My best wishes for peace go out to Dave, and I KNOW he would want those who knew and loved him to find that same peace. Most of all, his nephews, his lover and his true friends & family. With Love…

I first met David in Manhchester, N.H. and we instantly became friends but we both went our seperate ways in our early 20′s and I lost contact with him. In 1994 we were living in the same building on 54th Street in New York for over a year until we bumped into each other and spent some more time together before he headed out west to pursue his career. And again we lost contact with each other. Although, I only spent a short time on and off with him during his life he was a wonderful free happy soul. I was shocked to only find him again and learn of his death. If there is a heaven I hope he is in it. You left your mark my friend.

This is most shocking to me as well. It’s typical for me to buy or rent any xxx movie with Joe Romero in it. I loved his body, face —-and yes feet. I have an intense foot fetish & Joe starred in a movie a few years back just for us foot fans. The title of the film was “Suck Ten”. The scene he did in the movie was EXPLOSIVE. His feet were so large & sexy & he was really into the scene in the same way he performed in all of his films. I will miss his natural presence on film.

Just an unknown porn fan here. I saw so many Joe Romero movies over the years and I do wonder sometimes what they’re doing now. They’re human just like the rest of us. It’s sad that he’s gone. But his movies live on, he practiced his music and got to travel (which I never have done), and he obviously had people who cared and respected his life enough to take the effort to let his fans and the people who knew him what happened. He had a good life and brought a lot of pleasure to people. That is worth remembering.
