[Edited 11/29/07. More on why later on.] Porn pup Brent Corrigan has been cast in the indie gay flick Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild! (Constant Readers will recall Matthew Rush had a sizable cameo in the first flick, and his then-boyfriend Ethan Kage turned up briefly, too.) The production company is currently auctioning a day trip to the set with young master Corrigan and costar RuPaul. At press time bidding had reached $1045 smackeroos after just 29 bids. Read on for more…

Another Gay Movie was sort of intended as a queer American Pie. It was directed by Todd Stephens and penned by Mr. Stephens and Tim Kaltenecker. Distributed by TLA Releasing in July 2006, the film grossed a modest $654,000 in just about five months in theatres (plus another $90K overseas). Good enough for the sequel—and the cover of every single national and local gay mag next spring prior to its release.

This will be the most high-profile gig for Mr. Corrigan since his supporting turn (as “Fox Ryder”) in Falcon’s THE VELVET MAFIA 1-2 in 2006. He’s been laying low since getting caught in the backdraft of the Bryan Kocis/Cobra Video murder, for which his former costar Harlow Cuadra, and boyfriend-partner Joseph Kerekes, are standing trial.

Side note: One year ago, filmmaker Eric Svejcar released a trailer for a musical short film titled Didn’t This Used to be Fun?. Mr. Corrigan had been cast and was featured in the trailer, dancing away. The short was apparently completed and screened in New York City last spring. I’ll look into whether it’s available anywhere. I vaguely recall speaking via email with Mr. Svejcar, who was trying to drum up publicity for the film.

* Update: Brent Corrigan says Ryan J. Davis actually directed this short.

i don’t get what so good about brent. To me he is not hot, and certainly not worth killing some porn producer over.

Yeah, it was inevitable we’d get the haters. I choose to give him the benefit of the doubt. Brent is absolutely adorable, the camera loves him, and he’s a born performer. He seems to be his own worst enemy and trusts the wrong people. But anyone who can’t see why he’s a star is just being willfully ignorant.

JC, did you see his blog entry about you and his recent press?

Some might not like him due to what he’s been through. I’m not a very BIG fan of Brent Corrigan, but I see he’s still young and why can’t we give him a shot?
