Brent Corrigan Zaps the Press (Gay Porn Times, Too)
December 3, 2007 | 12 Comments
Brent Corrigan has publicly responded, in a blog post, to the story we ran about him November 26. He includes Gay Porn Times in a broader complaint about gay press and gossips, and he has a few choice words for me. I wasn’t going to respond, initially; if anyone has the right to be sensitive about his press and public image these days, it’s Mr. Corrigan. Plus, if I can’t take a punch or two, I’m in the wrong line of work. Upon reflection, however, I realize I should probably clear up a couple of things he refers to in his blog posting. Read on…
First up, actually, click here to read the entirety of Mr. Corrigan’s complaint; he doesn’t just take me to task, but also Jason Sechrest, Out mag, Rolling Stone and GAYVN.
My original article was just a summation of some of Mr. Corrigan’s current activities. Of course I mentioned the Bryan Kocis/Cobra Video tragedy. Look, I’m not trying to be a dick or to ruin his day. I was summing up the roller-coaster aspect of his very recent past, that’s it. No judgment.
After talking about his being cast in Another Gay Sequel, I wrote: “This will be the most high-profile gig for Mr. Corrigan since his supporting turn (as ‘Fox Ryder’) in Falcon√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s THE VELVET MAFIA 1-2 in 2006. He√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s been laying low since getting caught in the backdraft of the Bryan Kocis/Cobra Video murder, for which his former costar Harlow Cuadra, and boyfriend-partner Joseph Kerekes, are standing trial.”
Mr. Corrigan responds, “Maybe someone can clarify what Adams might trying to say when he calls my work at Falcon a ‘supporting turn.’ Last time I looked at a Falcon advertisement regarding the film, it appeared Falcon promoted Fox Ryder as the central character of the movie. Maybe he√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s referring to the √¢‚ǨÀúsupport√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ I provided to Falcon√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s yearly revenue stream for giving them the opportunity to ride on the coattails of my own personal plight with Cobra Video and the publicity found involved with that. I can√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t be sure.
“Although, I√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m sure internal feelings at Falcon reflect that my involvement in their film had something to do with my recent mainstream achievement (pro studios like Falcon are always taking credit for someone else√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s achievements), I√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢d like to point out that the creators of Another Gay Sequel seemed to have no clue about my work at Falcon. Oh yeah, wait…maybe that√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s because Falcon didn√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t work with Brent Corrigan, they promoted a model who technically does not exist; Fox Ryder.
“It seems as if JC Adams is unaware. Casually referring to my absence in the last year as, quote ‘laying low.’ I√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢d just love to see how effective and productive he would be while weathering a storm like the one I√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ve experienced in the last year. JC√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s pension for the facts begins to get a little blurry when he misreports that Harlow Cuadra and I were former costars. While there was initial interest in collaborative film work between Brent Corrigan and Harlow Cuadra, BoyBatter√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s misunderstanding of the circumstances (namely our settlement with Cobra Video) at hand made it unlikely. Then the unthinkable occurred and the mere prospect of a collaborative effort became utterly impossible, and certainly unattractive to Brent Corrigan INC. We were not EVER costars.”
First off, if he wants to question my calling his role in THE VELVET MAFIA a “supporting” turn, fine. It’s not worth arguing about that.
Secondly, he read too much into my use of the phrase “laying low.” Okay, he hasn’t been lazing about eating bon-bons. I know that. But I wasn’t inferring that he should have been out waving a sparkler, either. I wasn’t inferring that he ought to have been doing anything, and I don’t want him, or anyone, to think otherwise. He’s been through a shitstorm this past year. I’d want to keep my head down, too.
Third: I was wrong to refer to Brent Corrigan and Harlow Cuadra as costars. It was a mistake, an oversight, and one I should have double-checked during the editing process.
On with the show.

Ummm the people making the “main stream” movie, if you call it that, are fully aware of who Brent Corrigan is. Matthew Rush was in the first movie.
What a sad sad boy Sean Lockhart, aka Brent Corrigan, is. He should’ve not talked to the press then if he felt any tinge of bias towards him from the reporters. Nobody forced him to sit and spill his guts out. But I can see him all giddy about being the subject of discussion in national magazines, high-fiving his old bf about being (in)famous. And probably thinking somebody would make a Lifetime movie about him. Sigh. Stick to working at the mall, where any kid your age should be.
Actually Brent aka Sean doesn’t even write his blog posts at all. They are written by his daddy lover Grant. He could be Brent’s father. How creepy. The idea the producers of the movie don’t know who he is, well, that is absurd. They cast him because of the attention his presence will bring. Surely he is aware of this aspect even with barely a high school education.
Brent really needs to let go of his pissy attitude towards Falcon. How exasperating. He had a big role (it wasn’t supporting, sorry JC) in the movie and he was heavily promoted, even if wasn’t under the name Brent wanted. Let it go. Falcon didn’t want to get dragged into a lawsuit thing with Cobra. Not everyone has to fall in line with the wishes of Brent Corrigan Inc. You’re doing just fine without their help.
P.S. to Anonymous December 4, 10:58: What’s so creepy about older guys and younger men? If they’re both willing participants, and no one is being coerced, who cares?
In Brent’s case, he’s a fully grown adult and old enough to know what he’s doing.
I don’t think the people making the “Another Gay Movie” knew anything about Brent’s part in the Falcon movie. If they did they would have seen what a horrible actor he is.
I think Sean, Brent or Fox or whatever his name is should get his act together and take it on the road, or wherever he wants to go! I agree with Bill in SF and his attitude towards Falcon. He should be jolly lucky he worked with them and don’t throw up the chance of a lifetime – unless his head is bigger than the bird of prey!

You are absolutely right. Brent Corrigan is the worst actor of ANY gay performer I’ve ever laid eyes on.
Bill in S.F.-
You too are right. There’s nothing creepy about it. I apologize for that. What I should have said is that the two of them are creepy especially Grant.
Brent is not a terrible actor… He won’t win acting awards, but come on — it isn’t as if he has taken acting classes.
That Grant writes his blogs explains a lot, actually.
What’s “creepy” is the power exchange… and what’s scary is that he isn’t able to string his own words together.
Brent is looking hotter than ever… I wish he would just get it together because I think he is a huge talent. I think he could revitalize the industry — seriously. When he has sex, he looks engaged and his big assed dick and willing ass ain’t nothing to sniff at.
I do not write his blogs! Anyone who continues to try to pass off that as the truth when it is not are either extremely envious, or simply not paying attention.
Grant
