GAYVN Host Fight Rolls On

So, geez, this past Monday we revealed who would be hosting the GAYVN Awards next month—dragstress Lady Bunny with Sirius OutQ satellite radio hosts Derek Hartley and Romaine Patterson—and inadvertently kicked up a shitstorm. Scroll down two posts for more details. Jason Sechrest sez he was invited to come onto “The Derek & Romaine Show” after video-blogging his preference for last year’s host Kathy Griffin. But it was a scathingly negative entry by NakedSword.com’s new blog The Sword that really riled things up. (GAYVN caught wind of the controversy—I called to ask—and essentially they rolled their eyes at the whole thing.) The Sword has a follow-up entry this morning (”Radio Homo Derek Hartley Doesn’t Like Us“), noting the radio hosts “shot back at us today for us calling them houseplants. We issue the following retraction: it was rude to refer to their looks when we had so much material about them being boring. No offense!” Oy… [Image © SiriusOutQ.com.]
