Tony DiMarco Leaves Lucas for RSS

Raging Stallion Studios President Chris Ward announced in a press release today that award-winning filmmaker Tony DiMarco has joined the company, effective immediately. Mr. DiMarco had previously been associated with Lucas Entertainment and was one of the creative forces behind the GAYVN-winning films DANGEROUS LIAISONS and MICHAEL LUCAS’ LA DOLCE VITA. For the latter film, Mr. DiMarco became the only person to snag four trophies—writing, editing, videography and directing—in a single night, for a single film. “I [am] very excited to join Raging Stallion Studios. I’ve been a great admirer of their work for many years and am very excited about the prospect of working as one,” Mr. DiMarco says. “They are at the top of their game and I’m at the top of mine; I think this is the beginning of an exceptional team. The quality of their filmmaking is top notch and I’m honored to be a part of the team.” In the same press release, Mr. Ward notes that RSS co-partner Michael Brandon has “retired” and that Tony DiMarco will be filling his position within the company. Among his initial projects is a “GRUNTS-scale cowboy movie” to shoot in New Mexico in a few months. “All I can say is everybody better watch out! With Tony joining Ben Leon, JD Slater, David Hempling, Jake Deckard, and yours truly,” Mr. Ward says, “we have the best directing team in the industry.” I’ve heard from Michael Lucas about this, and will have his POV later today… [Image © GAYVN.]

Well, goodie, it’s been too long since we’ve had a good old-fashioned hissy fit in this industry. I can only imagine the bad blood with this deal. Remember the whole mess about JD Slater tossing ice cubes at Michael Lucas during the Gayvn awards? I can’t imagine this was an amicable parting.

Seems like Tony DeMarco went from being one of two creative people in control to one among a whole group? I’m no huge fan of his work at Lucas Ent but at least over there he only had to deal with one big dog.

I would not count out Michael Lucas so fast! If anything he will come back with something bigger and better just to prove to everyone he can do it. Honestly, I’ve never heard of Tony DiMarco since I don’t watch Lucas Entertainment films. But since he’s moved up, I’m happy for him and a congratulations is in order. Although, I have a bone to pick with Raging Stallion. It pisses me off how they announced Michael Brandon’s retirement in one little sentence and issue a huge press release regarding his replacement. That’s bullshit. Why didn’t that news get a press release as well? Michael has done a lot for that company. And for them to downplay his departure like that is not only disrespectful to him, it’s disrespectful to the fans as well.

Kruezer at Night is now saying as “breaking News” that Tony DiMarco left Lucas Ent. over Lucas’ intended casting of Brad Star in some kind of “incredibly kinky” new video. Here’s the latest word from Brad Star himself to me this past week. Brad says he “may return to the industry” but that nothing else matters except “money, that’s what it’s all about”.
Brad refused to confirm or deny his filming for Lucas in a new video on Wednesday but on Friday stated to me it will actually be older “pretty damn nasty” footage of he and then-website partner Angel Skye filmed in August 2007 incorporated into the new Lucas video, which may be titled INTERN 2.
Nothing official from Lucas Entertainment about this one way or the other.
I think we should take a “wait and see” attitude until we actually have an official product or VOD scene to review.
