[Edits 10:00 pm, 05/26 8:45 am.] The 2008 Grabby Awards were presented on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at The Park West theatre in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Chi Chi LaRue and Honey West co-hosted for the tenth consecutive year, alongside Raging Stallion exclusive Jake Deckard, TitanMen exclusive Dean Flynn and Trevor Knight. Serving as “trophy studs” were Hot House exclusive Ross Hurston, Jet Set exclusive Aaron James, COLT Man Ricky Parks and Rascal Video exclusive Blake Riley. Raging Stallion Studios claimed their first-ever Grabby for Best Video with the GRUNTS three-part military epic, while Jake Deckard and Jason Ridge snagged Best Performer honors. (And cheers to my colleagues over at TheSword for being the only people in Chicago still sober enough to post the winners a full 24 hours later…) Click here for the full list of winners…

LINK: THE EVOLUTION (All Worlds Video) went into the show with a leading 13 nominations, followed by the GRUNTS three-parter (Raging Stallion) with 10 nods, and VERBOTEN 1-2 (Hot House) with seven. BEST FETISH VIDEO
INK STORM (Screaming Eagle XXX/Raging Stallion Studios)
    YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Why no award for Logan McCree?

WOW JC everyone in Chicago must be drunk and or hungover this has got to be the slowest upload of the list of winners.

And I have not heard from a couple of people they must be VERY busy! Right!

  2. doug on May 25, 2008 10:00 pm

The film from Ridgeline that Jason Ridge won for was, I believe, A Rising Star, not, as you have listed, A Star is Born.

  3. J.C. Adams on May 25, 2008 10:08 pm

Doug — Thanks for catching that! I made the switch; funny typo, eh?

Yeah, they must have partied something fierce this weekend to have nothing posted (except for TheSword) 24 hours later…

    Regards,
    JCA

  4. Anonymous on May 25, 2008 10:36 pm

Dewayne, seriously, I was thinking the same thing! Must have been some party.

  5. Barry on May 25, 2008 11:19 pm

LOL, that is so typical! It took over a day to even post the winners.

Congrats to Erik Rhodes, Diesel Washington, hot young stud Devin Moss, Ricky Sinz, Johnny Hazzard. -Barry

  6. Steve Cruz on May 26, 2008 2:30 am

TYPO… Blake Riley also won Best Newcomer. Can’t forget my lil bro… he’s going far in the biz. Hot little fucker!

  7. Mark on May 26, 2008 3:08 am

Thanks to Dillon Buck for being the first to post the results on the same night & for keeping us across the pond updated with his awesome coverage and pics. Hey J.C. nice to see the mention correctly for Screaming Eagle, not many have.

  8. JC Adams on May 26, 2008 8:33 am

Steve — Thanks for the update! We made the change.

    Regards,
    JCA

  9. J.C. Adams on May 26, 2008 8:52 am

More updates (as people stagger home…) to Wall of Fame, and Maleflix Award added.

    Regards,
    JCA

You see how everybody is jealous of Damon you see. I am the new age of gay journalism you will see. Brad and Angel will be begging me for it.

  11. PornFan on May 26, 2008 10:18 am

Congrats to Ricky Sinz!!! Happy about the Ink Storm win, too.

  12. Mark on May 26, 2008 10:20 am

DeWayne, you wondered why there was no award for Logan McCree. The Grabbys usually nominate people in the Best Newcomer category if they’ve been in at least a couple of videos during the calendar year. That way there is a chance to compare their performances to see if they are really deserving of a nom.

Interestingly, Logan told me at the awards show that he doesn’t foresee himself getting nominated in the future, or even lasting very long in the industry. He seems to believe that his look places him in a sort of ’specialty’ category, and that interest in him will not last.

Personally, I find that hard to believe. He is a truly beautiful man, and has such a positive energy around him. I think he’ll be able to go as far as he wishes. Remember, not too long ago people wondered about Francois Sagat’s appeal.

  13. Will on May 26, 2008 10:33 am

But his “look” is a little more contained. . .

  14. Pornus Addictus on May 26, 2008 10:52 am

as always i’ve a lot of problems with these awards’ choices……Like the domination of RS and HH and some of their ’stars’, doesn’t look fair to me

–Don’t you know the secret to winning a Grabby? Show up.

  16. Anonymous on May 26, 2008 12:04 pm

and have sex with the judges….

  17. DK on May 26, 2008 12:15 pm

When Brad and Angel are nominated next year, you are right Brigh Young they will be begging for some of the DK meat. They will know then who is the most influential journalist in the gay porn business. Right, Ms. Sechrest?
    DK out.

  18. Will on May 26, 2008 12:41 pm

What are they going to be nominated for, that “boring” Michael Lucas scene you trashed because it wasn’t disgusting enough for you? Or in that nonexistant category for websites?

  19. Gerry on May 26, 2008 12:41 pm

Happy to see sexy little fucker Devin Moss getting some love, especially given the infatuation with Jesse/Guy. “Real & Raw” from Citiboyz won?! I never thought I’d see that happening at one of the Big award shows. What happened that Bel Ami doesn’t win this automatically? (Not that I complain.) “Oliver Twink” winning is gratifying, too.

  20. Gerry on May 26, 2008 12:43 pm

P.S. Congrats to Tory Mason, too. And I just realized Erik Rhodes finally won something. Long overdue, although I never saw “Ivy League” so I can’t judge if it was worthwhile.

  21. Will on May 26, 2008 12:48 pm

Toby Ross and Citiboyz are both Chicago-based. Hmmmmm…

  22. Anonymous on May 26, 2008 2:05 pm

    Will-

To be fair Citiboyz has never won a Grabby before to my knowledge and they are not Chicago based.

  23. Will on May 26, 2008 2:17 pm

I apologize if I was incorrect about that. Didn’t they used to be anyway? I remember several videos of theirs set in Chicago. Where are they based? (Website doesn’t say.)

  24. Anonymous on May 26, 2008 8:53 pm

Citiboyz is out of Springfield and this is indeed their first EVER Grabby win.

  25. Will on May 26, 2008 9:30 pm

So I was kind of close, anyway. . .

    But congrats to Citiboyz!!
