It’s been nearly one year since the shocking, sudden death at age 35 of Kent North. The Grabby Awards posthumously inducted him into their Hall of Fame last month. Now comes word of a fundraising campaign designed to honor his memory. Mr. North’s real name was Benjamin Peter Lewis Grey and the campaign has been driven by his partner, Lloyd North. Four B&W photographs shot by Mr. Grey are available for purchase for a limited time, and all monies raised will benefit the St. Stephen’s AIDS Trust (click here) in the U.K., with the funds earmaked specifically for inpatient and outpatient services. Hot House Video has donated their services to fans who may want to buy a print of “The Mechanics Monument” (pictured), which is available framed for $395. Email the studio’s Publicity Coordinator David McCambridge at DavidMc@hothouse.com for details. “We will process the payment through the Hot House credit card system and then send a check to SSAT in London,” he tells me. Fans interested in the other three prints ($185 unframed/$395 framed, plus P&H) will need to email Lloyd North via the KentNorth.com memorial website. Click here for more details…

All four images are currently on display at the Kobler Clinic on Fulham Road in Chelsea, London. Fifty copies of each print were struck, and there are about 15 left of each. They are available framed or unframed. Colin F., another friend of Mr. Grey’s, provided some of these details. “This is truly a unique opportunity for fans to not only own a very personal keepsake,” he told me, “but also to own a beautiful image taken by a very talented photographer and to raise some money for a very good cause close to Ben/Kent’s heart.” Click here for details and to view all four prints at the Kent North memorial site.

As well, each print will carry a label of authenticity with his signature on the back. “We would like this to reflect his amazing legacy of love and joy, which I’m sure is apparent if you read the blogs left on your site,” Colin said. “We all continue to love and miss him every day. Many thanks.”

Fans wishing to commemorate Benjamin Peter Lewis Grey may also make donations in his name directly to the St. Stephens AIDS Trust.

Although I support The Terrence Higgins Trust – An AIDS Charity – voluntarily and in my work, I have told my London friends about the fund. I believe the Kobler Cinic you mentioned is at The Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, Fulham Road.

… Thank you to everyone for your kindness and support during the past year. We hope that by supporting SSAT we can help others in Kent/Ben’s name. This will be the last opportunity to purchase one of these Limited Edition pieces of his work from either the Kobler Clinic (at C&W Hospital, London) or from Hot House, San Francisco.

All the guys at Hot House have been like a family to us with their care and help. Kent’s fans have been amazing and we are grateful for their contact and comments.
