SpecPub’s “[2] Mag” Ceases Publication

Another one bites the dust: I confirmed today that Specialty Publications‘ seven-year-old bimonthly [2] Magazine has gone dark, following publication of the March/April 2008 issue (pictured, left) featuring Steve Cruz and Dominic Sol. The first issue was March/April 2001 and featured Eric Hanson with then-boyfriend Diego Stefano; incidentally, Mr. Hanson has resurfaced this week with news that he has joined the staff of FabScout Entertainment (click here and scroll down). My insider sez the “[2] brand will still continue in the form of bi-yearly special issues and features in our other monthly publications.”

    That is old news. Your “insider” must have been asleep since March.

    Well, shit, it’s news to me. I bought the one with Steve Cruz on it, and was just asking at a newsstand if they knew when the next issue was coming out. I thought I’d missed it or it was sold it. Clearly not. Sucks.
