I feel kind of bad that he lost his job over something that is 15 years ago….I did a lot of stupid things in my 20′s too…but if no crime was commited why be penalized for it now. It would be one thing if he were currently making those films while serving as an officer, but that is not the case. I used to get shitfaced and “dance” on bars here in my hometown but that is not who I am today…I’m lucky I guess that I picked a field that will not fire me for not meeting “professional image” standards

There is just no way around it — your porn past will catch up with you eventually, so why try and hide it? It would make matters worse if, say, he won and THEN it came out, and he possibly gets canned as a result. Lay all the cards on the table at the outset.

Sorry, but you have to expect that a porno you made when you were 22 would resurface if you enter the public eye in some way. Nude modeling or even solo videos are one thing, but trying to get your own show on a network geared towards middle americans, as JC says, when you know you did a porno back in your 20s, is taking a big risk. Even if none of the gay bloggers wrote about it, and Verdugo won his own show, you think the mainstream media wouldn’t catch on eventually? That someone at TMZ or Perez wouldn’t ever notice? I respect him for going for it and I’m sorry he was eliminated, because he seemed like a good guy and genuinely good at his craft, but it’s a story regardless.
