In Print: Blue Blake’s “Out of the Blue”

Galleys arrived this afternoon of performer-director-living legend Blue Blake‘s memoir, Out of the Blue: Confessions of an Unlikely Porn Star (Running Press). I can’t wait to dive into it. Earlier this summer, Running Press released another porn-star memoir√¢‚Ǩ‚ÄùMy Life in Porn by Bobby Blake (no relation). I just finished it and a review is forthcoming. “Would I recommend a life in porn to anybody? Nope,” Blue Blake avers in the press release. “Would I recommend it to a not-bad-looking guy from Nottingham who was born in a house without a toilet? Absofuckinglutely!” The book’s press agents wryly note they are setting up “phone sessions” with Mr. Blake to flack the book, wocka, wocka, wocka…

    I think I might also read ‘Out of the Blue’ by Blue Blake interesting because not only was I born in a house without a toilet (at the bottom of the garden), but no running water either (tap outside on a wall), and my parents had to walk through my bedroom to get to theirs – ah! sweet mysteries of life.
