Colton Ford’s “Heart Won’t Let Go”
July 25, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Sexalicious Colton Ford is back in the Big Apple after playing a few dates (June 14, 19 and 28) on the True Colors 2008 tour with Cyndi Lauper. But he hasn’t taken any time off, nosiree. He’s flacking a new single — Tug of War (My Heart Won’t Let Go),” penned by Mr. Ford with Quentin Harris and Jens Bergmark. Click here for the YouTube video. He’s as lickable as ever and his voice is supple; the video has a light BDSM vibe, but the frantic editing gave me a mild headache. His last few clips have been similarly overworked, and I’d wish he’d trust that he can hold a camera. The song is catchy with sugary, Willy Wonka-esque curlicues. He’ll be performing live September 19 for Fairgrounds 2008 at Six Flags Great Adventure (click here). In case you missed it, Billboard positively reviewed his new album back in May (“replete with thick thumps and breathy, layered vocals, alongside formidable singalong choruses…”). Beauty Shot: Victor Steele 2.0
July 25, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Beauty Shot: This photo (and others from the set) have been making the rounds of the interwebs for a few weeks, but I ran across them again last night and decided to post a sample here for your early morning pick-me-up. That’s the revamped, newly scruffy Victor Steele, photo’ed here for Playgirl magazine and Playgirl.TV. He’s onscreen now in HOME BODIES for Raging Stallion Studios, and appeared as well in SAVAGE and in their GAYVN-winning GRUNTS: BROTHERS IN ARMS (his fuck scene with Jake Deckard among the best sex of 2007). Although I usually like a bit of chest fur, Mr. Steele’s smooth, toned torso is quite lickable; I’m also hooked on the tousled mane and come-hither gaze. That high-and-tight buzz cut in GRUNTS changed his look completely. Yum. [H/T JustUsBoys & GayPornucopia.]

Planet Porn: Newcomer Josh Griffin
July 24, 2008 | 12 Comments
Planet Porn: Josh Griffin, meet our Constant Readers. This handsome side of beef will soon make his blue movie debut (assuming he hasn’t filmed three dozen internet vignettes already) in JOSH VAUGHN’S BEST MEN from Rascal Video and Channel 1 Releasing. (Odd timing, as Falcon Studios’ BEST MEN debuts in just a few weeks.) Jason Sechrest provided this photo and has blogged that Mr. Griffin is “the premiere dancer on the scene in West Hollywood” (he is pictured here shaking his buns at Here Lounge a few weeks ago in Boys Town) and promises his first onscreen fuck scene “will please a lot of muscle worshippers.” [Image √Ǭ© JasonCurious.]

Fresh Meat: Hunky Bi Stud Crash
July 24, 2008 | 4 Comments
Fresh Meat: Meet Crash ‚Äî that’s it, just “Crash” ‚Äî a newbie who makes his blue movie debut (he previously shot a bit of online fetish work) in the forthcoming CONTACT from Mustang Studios, wherein the bisexual stud bottoms for Braxton Bond. The Falcon Studios blog (click here) has a short interview that goes into his background a bit and explains his name: “I got into so many car accidents when I was young and it’s sort of been a nickname all my life.” As a porn sobriquet, he “just liked the simplicity of it. It just sort of hits you, no pun intended.” The Falcon interviewer notes that “only truly sexy, charismatic people can pull off the one-named thing. Like Madonna,” to which Crash retorts, “Yeah, but I’m hotter than her. And I’ve got a bigger dick.” We like him already! Other bites: He wants to be fucked by a woman wearing a strap-on, and he used to be related (by marriage) to Paris Hilton. And that is your bizarrely random factoid for today. PacSun, Skin2Skin on “Socially Responsible” BB Films
July 24, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Press Release Roundup: Pacific Sun Entertainment recently announced the addition of Skin2Skin Films to their distribution roster in a deal that covers DVDs, VOD and pay-per-view. Helmer Lazaro Wineman‘s focus is on 18-23-year-olds; they don’t have a broad catalog and are perhaps best known for performer Erec Estrada‘s 2005 LITTLE SHOP… series: EREC’S LITTLE SHOP OF PORN, EREC’S LITTLE SHOP OF FLOWERS, et. al. PacSun is billing Skin2Skin as producers of “socially responsible bareback twink” films. “All models are freshly tested before a shoot and we warn our customer base to view these titles as a fantasy replacement,” the company states in the press release. “Having said that, the fantasy portrayal for this customer base is very strong… Pacific Sun remains strongly committed to safe sex, but is open to distribute all genres of XXX entertainment as long as it is socially responsible.” Hot Desert Knights adopted a similar tack earlier this year when they announced they would test for HIV/AIDS and sero-sort their performers (click here). “Socially responsible bareback films” is an interesting bit of phraseology given the stalemate gay adult seems to have reached over this issue√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùbareback companies clearly aren’t going anywhere and have only grown in prominence and popularity, while those on the other side of the aisle wish these companies would just dry up and blow away overnight. We could argue that testing for HIV/AIDS and then sero-sorting is a step in the right direction if the films are going to be made at all; and arming performers with more knowledge about their sexual health is something all gay adult producers ought to be doing regularly anyway. Thoughts?

Dept. of WEHT: Matt Van Dorn
July 23, 2008 | 9 Comments
Dept. of WEHT: Via my association with Studio 2000, I’ve had the pleasure of becoming acquainted with Matt Van Dorn, the adorably rangy South African blondine who blazed through the biz for about two years (2003-2005) and quickly departed for greener pastures with less than a dozen films under his belt. I spoke with him recently and he was happy to update our Constant Readers as to his whereabouts. “I currently live in Cape Town, South Africa, and just got back from traveling and living in New York, Spain and London,” he says. “I’m very happy to be home and settled, at least for now.” Mr. Van Dorn says he didn’t exactly retire from porn. “No, I’m young and virile! I’m just taking a break to focus on more grounded life pursuits.” Click here for the rest of our interview…

In Print: Francesco D’Macho’s “DNA”
July 23, 2008 | Leave a Comment
In Print: Somehow I missed this last month√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùodd, considering his name is billed up top in a large white font√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùbut Francesco D’Macho was profiled in the previous issue of Australia’s porn-lovin’ DNA Magazine (click here). Retailers (especially the gay ones) keep DNA on the stand for months, so you Francesco fanatics can probably still find it. They ask him about how many men he’s bedded (“When? Today?”), when he lost his virginity (when he was 19, drunk on tequila, with a fellow bartender, and with news footage of Princess Diana‘s death on the teevee) and his family. His mother was concerned that he was making bareback films. Now that she knows otherwise, she is more accepting. “Also, I come from a very poor family,” he says, “so you should see the look on my mum’s eyes when I got her a brand-new Smart Car. She is supportive in her own way and will take her with me at the next GAYVN Awards in San Francisco.” Oh, and if he were a piece of machinery, he would be a “tuna can opener.” Cheers.

July 23, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Press Release Roundup: Bruno Gm√ɬºnder has sent around the press release and a few sneak-peek promo images for Michael Lucas’ Gigolos, the forthcoming photobook drawn from Lucas Entertainment‘s recent blue movies. It will be released next month in Europe and comes Stateside in October. “With Michael Lucas, gigolos seem almost otherworldly: glamorous, sexy, stunning√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùthe spectrum runs the gamut from virile top model to hunky boy-next-door,” purrs the press release. “On the heels of his successful and elaborately staged movies MICHAEL LUCAS’ DANGEROUS LIAISONS and MICHAEL LUCAS’ LA DOLCE VITA, comes at long last a book chock full of models from his award-winning adult entertainment label.” That’s hunkalicious Wilfried Knight pictured at right, whose first new XXX flicks in several years have recently wrapped in New York.

Black Scorpion Beauty: Dreamy D.O.
July 22, 2008 | Leave a Comment
As so many of you were enthralled by the Genre magazine shot of D.O. yesterday (click here or scroll down), here are two of his DVD inserts for Black Scorpion Video√¢‚Ǩ‚ÄùMAN ISLAND and HUNGER. Black Scorpion’s publicist read yesterday’s story and called last night to say they would pass along your laudatory comments to D.O. himself√¢‚Ǩ‚ÄùI keep sayin’ the biz pays attention to our Constant Readers! They passed along more details about The Different Sides of D.O., a photobook currently in production featuring 20 different shutterbugs snapping the lusciously beautiful hunk in various guises. They plan to have it on shelves later this year, in time for holiday shopping, and all proceeds will be donated to various HIV/AIDS causes. “We just thought it was time to really step up and do something bold,” they told me. “Everyone’s working for free on this thing. It’s a big project, but it’s worth it. And D.O. couldn’t be more patient and easygoing about all the demands we’re placing on him; it’s been fascinating to watch how each photographer interprets his image.” Watch for new movies featuring D.O. very soon, including his directorial debut.

New Release Desk: “Spanish Boys Taste Good”
July 22, 2008 | 2 Comments
New Release Desk: Who knows if it’s any good, but c’mon, SPANISH BOYS TASTE GOOD? Tell me that doesn’t bring a smile to your face. The flick from Big City Video and director Diego Domingo features BJ Bien, Bama Boy, Dimitri, Roxas Hart, Angel Luv, Misfit, Papito and Macho Vargas. The tagline reads, “These hungry sexo-Latinos are have’n [sic] a foreskin fiesta!” Bless. At the end of May we wrote brief pieces about Big City hottie Marco Steel (click here) and outrageously inked-up Clover of MIDNIGHT BOOTY CALL infamy, among other titles (click here); in April we talked a bit about titles like BULLDOZER (click here) and whether they enforce or perpetuate stereotypes.

“Best Men” Zeb Atlas, Matthew Rush Hit Web Early
July 22, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Those scalawags at Falcon Studios have released (click here) the Zeb Atlas-Matthew Rush suckfest√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùfilmed last month in Las Vegas for helmer John Bruno‘s BEST MEN√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùthat precipitated a small ruckus (click here and then here and finally here). The film will be released in September, but they’re getting a head start on the good times. Between this and the FLEET WEEK fuss (click here), Falcon has produced two of the most talked-about movies of 2008 and the year’s only half over. Sez GayPornBlog, “I forgot about all the drama and remembered why Matthew Rush is one of Falcon’s Lifetime Exclusives: the guy can suck.” [Image √Ǭ© Falcon Studios.]

Planet Porn: Marc Williams Pummels Dominik Rider
July 22, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Planet Porn: This shot is of Dominik Rider with Marc Williams on the set of a Mustang Studios shoot several week ago in San Francisco. We’ve had a small run on boxing themed pornos lately (including my own T.K.O. for Studio 2000), and this was another courtesy of director Paul Barresi. “The scene called for a fake fight,” Mr. Rider blogs. “But in the heat of action the punches became real and I ended up taking a few very real blows… I don’t think he realized it [but] Marc is such a sweetheart and a breeze to work with. He’s got an amazing body√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùwow! I was jealous of his booty! Plus, the boy has like a 28” waist and his torso is a perfect V!” Despite the blows, he looks none the worse for the wear. Anyway, when bootylicious Dominik Rider is jealous of someone’s bum, we’re talking a real trafffic-stopper. As Mr. Williams was among the cast of T.K.O., I can attest to the quality of the real estate (notice his T-shirt). [Image √Ǭ© Dominik Rider.]

Beauty Shot Redux: “Genre” Stud D.O.
July 21, 2008 | 19 Comments
Does the cover stud for this month’s Genre magazine look familiar? That’s Brazilian bombshell and international fashion model Dionisio Hedersheid, otherwise known as the sultry D.O., outrageously gorgeous Black Scorpion Video exclusive and the star of HUNGER, MAN ISLAND and the terrif OBSESSIONS OF D.O. We ran a Beauty Shot of him back in November (click here); D.O. was also a GAYVN nominee for Best Newcomer this year. Nice to see a second erotic actor gracing the cover of a national gay magazine; Michael Lucas was the cover stud for Genre’s Jan-Feb 2008 issue (click here). Per my colleague Mark Adams, D.O. is currently modeling for a photobook titled The Different Sides of D.O. and will soon make his directorial debut for Black Scorpion. Those abs are something else, man. I was alone when this magazine arrived in the mail, and it’s just as well because I’d hate to have to explain to my postal carrier why I was crying. Merging Gay Adult Into Gay Mainstream
July 21, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Back in April I wrote about the sale of PlanetOut Inc.‘s magazine and publishing business to Here Networks (click here). The deal covered The Advocate and Out magazines, Alyson Books and their related websites, as well as Specialty Publications, the publishers of Men, Freshmen and Unzipped Monthly√¢‚Ǩ‚Äù[2] Magazine having ceased publication as a standalone with its March/April 2008 issue (click here). Late last month (June 29) the L.A. Times profiled Paul Colichman (click here), the owner (with Stephen P. Jarchow) of Here Networks, Regent Entertainment and GayWired.com. I skimmed through the article a few weeks ago and missed something that caught my attention when I took another look at the piece last week. Click here for details…

Superstar Caesar Builds an Empire
July 21, 2008 | 6 Comments
It’s been awhile since we’ve heard from hunky man-mountain Caesar. He’s been offscreen since 2002′s controversial hit COWBOY for Big Blue Productions, although in 2006 he produced, directed and starred in CAESAR’S HEAT for his own CaesarWorld Productions√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùnow available for your downloadable pleasure (click here)√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùfor which put a clever spin on the self-aggrandizing nature of body worship videos by having twin versions of himself, one “clean” and one “dirty,” stalk and show off for each other. CaesarWorld.com is hopping these days. And the bodybuilder-entrepreneur has been working with Manhunt‘s newly launched OntheHunt.com website (click here for our story back in April) that features actual Manhunt members filmed for their hardcore debut by various gay porn luminaries. He wrapped production in June on ten vignettes, with more to follow. Plus, Caesar is shooting lots of amateur porn actors for his own site, too. It’s a kick to watch all of this go down, as I gave him one of his very first interviews way back in 1999 when he first entered the biz. We sat at a coffee shop on Hollywood Blvd. and chewed the fat for a couple hours. He was built like a sexy quarterback fresh off the gridiron√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùthis was a couple years before he packed on all the muscle√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùand as he strutted down the Walk of Fame I clearly recall heads swiveling in his direction so fast I thought they’d snap off and roll right into the lobby of Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. Ah, they grow up so fast… [Image √Ǭ© CaesarWorld.]

Kink.com Looking for “Bound Gods”
July 21, 2008 | 4 Comments
The BDSM masters from (primarily heterosexual) Kink.com are prepping for the launch on August 1 of BoundGods.com and the expansion of KinkMen.com. Director, photographer and performer Van Darkholme√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùwhose predilection for ropes and chains is well-documented√¢‚Ǩ‚Äùhas been working with the company to develop their first sites geared towards gay men with a yen for hurts-so-good sexplay. I know Rod Barry has also been talking about bringing his particular brand of raunchiness to the new sites, and he is featured in a series of preview trailers that also spotlight Tober Brandt, Chad Hunt and Dominik Rider, among others (click here). As they note on their landing page, “KinkMen.com is destined to become the hottest source on the web for hardcore gay erotica featuring fetish, bondage and SM. KinkMen…will dominate the market and give fetish fans exactly what they’ve been wanting all these years.” They held their first open casting call on July 16 at their expansive San Francisco studios. Speaking of which, Constant Readers might recall how Kink.com splashily entered the mainstream with the $14.5 million (yes, “million”) purchase of the San Francisco Armory and Arsenal, an imposing 200,000-square-foot edifice listed on the National Register of Historic Places (click here). An admiring April, 2007 New York Times profile (click here) of Founder-CEO Peter Acworth, titled “A Disciplined Business,” termed Kink.com “arguably the country’s most successful fetish porn company.” So, yeah, at a time when DVD-centric porn companies are pulling back and regrouping, there’s a more than a little bit of money behind these new VOD sites… [Image √Ǭ© Kink Men.]

Hot Links: The Week in Review
July 19, 2008 | 1 Comment
Hot Links: Of course, the big news this week had everything to do with Design Star contestant Mikey Verdugo. Click here and here for our first two stories a week ago, click here (or just scroll down) for the scoop on Friday’s latest development, and click here for a poll on the dust his story has kicked up. Elsewhere, the activities of Zeb Atlas, as well as his aborted Falcon Studios debut opposite Matthew Rush, continue to obsess many of you (click here). Our boys turned up in unexpected places this week: Damien Crosse posed for the covers of French-language erotic-historical fiction books (click here) and Alex Baresi was immortalized in oils by Australian artist Ross Watson (click here). Plus, Lou Cass outed himself on-camera as a Tori Spelling superfan (click here). Over at CockyBoys, RC Ryan unlocked his taut butt to make room for a toy (click here) and then decided he was up for the real thing (click here) from Jason Hawke, in the process setting off a debate among our Constant Readers about gay-for-pay performers. We also jawed about the use of close-up glamour shots, rather than a bared-flesh collage, as DVD inserts (click here). Finally, Brent Corrigan hit the silver screen with In the Closet (click here) and Another Gay Sequel (click here). Plus, Collin O’Neal retired his onscreen persona (click here), while Dillon Press decided to mount a comeback of sorts (click here). [Image √Ǭ© Falcon Studios.]
