Everyone favorite all-around stud—and recent GAYVN Awards Hall of Famer—Rod Barry has been noticeably absent from blue-movie screens of late (BI ACCIDENT 3 from Devil’s Film is recent). He’s not been resting on his buns, though. Mr. Barry has been shooting material for his forthcoming VOD site, RodBarryWorld.com, to launch in October. Here’s a tidbit he blogged several days ago: “We are shooting Ray today, cute little big-dicked Latino boy from the Inland Empire. He says he is a top, but one day after he has completed Porn 101 his ass will be mine… Funny thing, while we were shooting, my neighbor from across the hall just walks in without knocking. Well, I guess he now knows what goes on behind closed doors. No biggie; he was so stoned he probably just thought it was an illusion.” Mr. Barry also sez he’ll be pressing the flesh in Cherry Grove on Fire Island over Labor Day Weekend. Seems like several people are going into the vod business. Jesse Santanna and now Rod.

Seems that this photo of Rod Barry was taken long ago – he looks nothing like that now! Yuck is all I can say – I saw him in New York City during Gay Pride and he was not attractive and drunk!

I’ve seen Rod Barry in NYC many times, and who the fuck cares if he was drinking? He still looks fucking amazing, still a total stud in my book. He can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned. He just looks like a regular guy, and I love that about him.

Of course, the above picture is from several years ago but for a guy in his 30’s Rod can still look very good. Unfortunately, Rod’s alcoholism is starting to take it’s toll on his boyish looks.

Rod is just one of many stars that say they are “launching” their own site but only a few have done so. Namely, Pierre Fitch, Barrett Long, Jeremy Hall and maybe a couple of others. With the internet being so accessible, I’ve often wondered why more performers have not take control of their own destiny.

As a performer, Rod is one of the most talented guys in the industry. If he can pull off a site he will make his fans across the globe very happy. I’m not holding my breath that Rod has the attention span or level of sobriety to pull this off. By the way, what ever happened to that book Rod was writing?
