A donation made by Manhunt.net co-founder Jonathan Crutchley to the presidential campaign of Sen. John McCain has apparently been returned, reports the Boston Herald. Business partner Larry Basile said he was “embarrassed” when the donation came to light last week following an article in Out magazine (CLICK HERE) and a listing on The Huffington Post (CLICK HERE). “McCain’s camp seemed just as eager to distance themselves from the brief alliance,” wrote journalist Hillary Chabot. “McCain spokesman Jeff Grappone didn’t return multiple phone calls on the subject, and Crutchley has apparently been informed that his $2300 will be returned.” On Friday, he resigned from the Manhunt board of directors at their request. “Someone had a reality check,” Mr. Basile said. He added that Crutchley had now donated $2300 to the Sen. Barack Obama presidential campaign, but expects that money to eventually be returned. Additionally, the Boston Herald notes he has “written a ‘touching’ letter to the employees at Manhunt, according to Basile, and is now committed to supporting Obama.” CLICK HERE and ALSO HERE for our previous stories. I was born at night but I wasn’t born last night. Why does Jonathan think that somehow, magically, the Obama Campaign will accept what no political party would touch with a ten foot “pole” -a contribution for an adult-oriented. This story is quickly degenerating from the novel to the downright silly.

This is hands down the silliest story of the year.Is Jonathan Crutchley that naive? He switches candidiates but I highly doubt that Obama’s camp would touch that donation which was earmarked for McCain’s presidential campaign in the first place.I’d say too little too late.

IIRC, his partner Larry Brasile (a Democrat) said that he had already donated to the Obama campaign. Has the Obama campaign already returned that donation, I wonder?
