Titan Sues Another “Tube” Site
August 26, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Titan Media has sued Antelope Media LLC, parent company of MonsterCockTube.com, for copyright infringement. At least five John Does are also named as defendants. The suit filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco cites video files of Titan product that have allegedly been viewed more than 14,000 times. Titan VP Keith Webb told XBIZ this was “another example of a site looking to make a quick buck and generate traffic from the intellectual property of others. We will not sit idly by and watch others profit from our content. Let this be a clear message to anyone running a tube site ‚Äî if you have Titan content on your site you will be caught and pay the price. XBIZ notes the suit charges “willful copyright infringement, trademark infringement and unfair business practices, as well as subsquent charges of infringement for the video files containing Titan material that were hosted on the site.” Earlier this month, Titan sued GLBT Ltd., operators of GayForIt.com and other similar “tube” sites, for similar reasons (CLICK HERE for our previous story.) Antelope Media LLC reps have not yet responded to the lawsuit. [Source: XBIZ.]

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Titan VP Keith Webb told XBIZ “I was bored so I might as well sue someone else, afterall the Xmas party is just round the corner!”
Titan is clearly just out to abuse the civil process to make money, this has nothing to do with piracy.
Oh, I forgot, Keith Webb aka Keith Rouff.

Department of W-ho T-he F-uck C-ares!
JC do you get commission from the VP for each time your report this crap? This goes past being news worthy anymore and now just down right BORING! As so many point out, including your reader above, Dept of WTFC, who aptly put it ‘W T F Cares anymore?’ I’m all for freedom of speech and all and the story might have been interesting once, maybe twice but now ….. borderline obsessive!
I think it’s still somewhat newsworthy, but perhaps we can now just assume that Titan will be suing any site that is in violation of their copyright and move on.
I do still wonder why Titan is the only company that is being so proactive about this. Or at least the only one that is actually filing suit. I know others, like Kristen Bjorn, have been very vocal about the issue, but I have yet to see news of any other company taking it to court.
OMG! I just ran across this article, courtesy of JCA’s colleagues at Fleshbot.

Anonymous 9:08 am – Apologies. I just realized the document you linked was about the same case.
Thanks for the link Will. As if that isn’t proof enough that Mr. VP is just ‘sue-happy’?!
‘Rather than issue takedown notices to Veoh, the Io Group sued immediately for infringement’
Excellent ruling from the Judge!
Yay, they have finally come unstuck. I hope that Xbiz and co will be just as happy to report the outcome. I think their cases against the other tubes are in a sorry state now.
No doubt Youtube will be sending Titan a crate of Champagne, they have helped their case no end.
I guess sueing individuals wasn’t lucrative for them, huh? And Mr. Adams, everyone knows that Titan and the Io Group are the pitbulls of the gay porn biz – everytime I come here to read the latest and scroll down, I just know I will see their logo on one of your posts. I think to myself “NOW who?”…
