Porn-Teased Computer Viruses Spreading

Sen. Barack Obama does not have a sex tape. The fictional tape (or some variation thereof) is the titillating subject line of an email virus infecting the interwebs right now. It’s definitely getting passed around in GayPornLand. “This latest virus includes hallmarks of two viruses that hit earlier this year,” XBIZ reports. “Computer security company Kaspersky Lab discovered a rogue profile on the micro-blogging website Twitter.com that’s advertising adult downloads, provided users download a Flash-based player to play the movies. That’s the virus. A user who downloads the ‘player,’ actually downloads and installs a virus capable of hijacking their computer.” Also beware of emails bearing links to stories about lightning hitting the White House, Sen. Obama dropping out of the presidential race, Italy losing its place in the Euro Cup 2008, and a man waking up from a 40-year coma.

I’m a Mac convert, thank god..
Just by coincidence, last night I watched an episode of “The Office” in which Pam causes the office’s computers to crash by clicking on just such a celebrity sex tape ad. Thank God I’ve got a good spam filter.
