Mustang’s “Blue Movie” Busted?

News began circulating last night that BLUE MOVIE, the directorial debut of Steve Cruz for Mustang Studios, had been shut down by the LAPD Vice Squad. Apparently an anonymous tipster told the fuzz that a porn crew was shooting without a permit. “The shoot, which took place in a nondescript warehouse in Northridge, began filming on Sunday,” writes TheSword.com. “Cruz was in the middle of shooting a sex scene between Dillon Buck and newcomer Colton Steele when several police officers entered and demanded to see a film permit. The production was shut down entirely costing thousands of dollars in lost wages and fines. The filming will be moved to San Francisco and resume later this week.” Troy Prickett, Falcon’s Director of Promotion, found the whole thing suspicious. “Studios shoot on this set every week without problems,” he said. “I hate to sound over-dramatic, but this was an inside job.” On his own blog, Mr. Cruz was indefatigable. “I look forward to filming under more favorable conditions,” he said. GayPornLand hasn’t had a good police raid in some time; I can certainly empathize. And cheers if this is a publicity stunt cuz if so, it’s a good one… See also:

If it was a publicity stunt, it would be the ultimate “inside job.” Perhaps Prickett is giving himself away?

It’s an inside job and was done for publicty. He’s almost as bad as Lucas, next he’ll be faking his own death!

“An inside job.” Who talks like that? Either somebody has been watching too many gangster movies, or something has really gone haywire over at Falcon.
Why, I can think of at least five possible suspects with grudges against Falcon right off the top of my head!
Considering the added cost of doing additional and reshoots elsewhere, not to mention those of us that were present and a bit concerned with a possible arrest, this was far from a “stunt.” Why care, the FACT that a disgruntled person called in something so frivolous and that LAPD acted on it when they should spend their limited time and budget on more important things should concern everyone in this community. What will be the next production that is disrupted, busted or vandalized. Step aside from frequent suspiscious natures and look at the ramifications in what actually took place.
