New Release Desk: Many of you were enthralled with newcomer Manuel DeBoxer when we first wrote about him signing as an exclusive with Raging Stallion Studios. Mogul Michael Lucas wed his partner of eight years, Richard Winger, in a quiet, low-key and heartfelt ceremony last night in Los Angeles. A crowd of about 40 congregated in a posh mansion on Mulholland Drive, high above Hollywood, to watch the two men clasp hands and exchange vows. The ceremony was presided over by West Hollywood Councilmember John Duran. The concurrent party was also a fundraiser for Equality California and the NoOnProp8.com campaign. Among those in attendance: mr. Pam (taping everything, natch); Randy Blue; dragstress RuPaul (albeit in boy drag); a dramatically slimmed-down Chi Chi LaRue and Rob Novinger of Channel 1 Releasing; GAYVN‘s Ken Knox and Harker Jones; Joanne Cachapero from the Free Speech Coalition; Michael Stabile from TheSword.com; gossipmeister Billy Masters; Cybersocket publisher Morgan Sommers; and author-voiceover artist Ben Patrick Johnson. Mr. Lucas is only the latest from GayPornLand to wed; he joins Brent Everett and Tyler Saint (who got hitched to their respective beaus), as well as Andy Kirra and Tristan Mathews.

New Release Desk: Titan Media is flacking FUNHOUSE, a follow-up of sorts to their circus-themed fuck flicks CARNY (2003) and CIRQUE NOIR (2005). “Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the carnival…” the studio snarks in the press release. You’ll recall the controversy surrounding the latter film, whose costars include Ouchy the Clown (the chunky one) and Rimjob the Klown (the one with the split tongue). And, of course, there is an eye-opening threeway featuring Buck Angel rutting madly with Tober Brandt and Logan Steele, plus an award-winning DP enacted by Spencer Quest. In Print: Mogul Michael Lucas is getting married tomorrow here in Los Angeles and his nuptials have been framed by a couple of bits of publicity (masterful timing as ever, Mr. Lucas). The Lucas Entertainment press department sent along an Esquire.com link ‚Äî CLICK HERE ‚Äî to a sex advice column that references Mr. Lucas; apparently the column also appears in the current issue with Halle Berry on the cover. The column penned by Stacey Grenrock Woods downplays the notion that straight women enjoy gay porn in significant numbers. “It’ll do, but, no, gay porn is not the preference among the straight women at my circle jerks,” she writes. Mr. Lucas is quoted as a gay adult “star/mogul” whose fan base includes hetero women, but Miss Grenrock Woods is clearly skeptical. Perhaps we should educate her a bit, eh? Crime Blotter: Middleman in Hit Man Attack Pleads Guilty

Crime Blotter: The man accused of hiring a hit man to threaten and attack an elderly Florida couple has pleaded guilty in federal court to “traveling across state lines to kill, injure and harass another person.” He faces a maximum of 20 years behind bars. Larik Cholak, 37, admits to having hired Edmon Vardanyan, 24, to attack Grigori and Galina Komissarchuk, the in-laws of his friend Alex Shevgert. Mr. Vardanyan is known to gay adult fans as performer Nickolay Petrov. “Between September 2006 and April 2007, the Komissarchuks were attacked on at least three occasions, including in the parking lot outside a Brooklyn-area Home Depot and in their Sarasota [Florida] home,” reports a newspaper account. “The couple suffered serious injuries, including fractured skulls. Prosecutors said Shevgert refused for a while to move out of the Komissarchuks’ Sarasota home and retaliated against his in-laws when they stopped spotting him money for businesses, after they gave him $100,000 for a down payment on a house.” Mr. Vardanyan was arrested and indicted in federal court last February; he was paid between $800-$1000 and allegedly offered $10,000 apiece to kill them. Porn Awards: 2009 GAYVN Nominations

Porn Awards: Lately, I’ve been barraged with requests for information about the 2009 GAYVN Awards. So I called around over at Adult Video News and here’s the unofficial scoop: The 2009 awards show is tentatively set for March and will be held in San Francisco for the third consecutive year. The qualifying deadline is December 31 ‚Äî meaning a film has to have been officially released by that date to be considered for awards contention. Studios and producers will be able to begin submitting pre-nom names and titles on January 1; the noms will be announced in late January or early February. No decision has been made about a show host. Constant Readers will recall Kathy Griffin hosted two years ago (clips of her performance appeared on an episode of her reality show), and last year GAYVN organizers blundered into a puzzling controversy when it was announced that radio hosts Derek Hartley and Romaine Patterson would share emcee duties with The Lady Bunny.

“The Advocate” on Gay Porn Doc Series

The Advocate recently interviewed (CLICK HERE) filmmaker John Roecker about his documentary series Everything You Wanted to Know About Gay Porn Stars* (*But Were Afraid to Ask), premiering next month on here! Network. That’s quite an accomplishment considering gay adult generally doesn’t exist in the Advocate-Out universe, unless there is some sort of sordid crime to report. Okay, the story does talk about Mr. Roecker’s interview with Harlow Cuadra (and the same company now owns the mag and the network), but still, kudos to Mr. Roecker for the press attention. “Popular porn actor Jeremy Jordan opens up about being molested as a child. Others are forthcoming about their battles with illegal drugs — one actor even does crystal meth on-camera during his interview,” notes writer Brandon Voss. “Still, Roecker isn’t afraid of spoiling any mystique for avid porn viewers. ‘These guys aren’t just flesh puppets.
