HBO Sez Thomas Jane is “Hung”

Last week we wrote about a couple of forthcoming film and teevee projects that prominently feature straight porn (“Porn Continues Crossover into Film, TV“). In a nutshell, the film Middle Men is about “a straight-laced businessman who founds the first online billing company catering to the porn business [and] finds himself in the middle of a whirlwind filled with starlets, con men, Russian mobsters, federal agents and international terrorists.” And on the cable channel Spike TV, James Gunn’s PG Porn will spoof straight porn by pairing mainstream actors with adult starlets to reenact actual porn scenes. Next on the docket? That would be Hung, starring hunkalicious Thomas Jane as a down-and-out high school coach who decides to use his gigantic penis to revive his life and career. None other than Alexander Payne is directing the pilot for HBO. No mention of porn is made in the press release, but c’mon. “No one’s revealing the complete premise right now, so we can only wonder how Jane’s character uses his best asset,” sez columnist Michael Musto. “Does he do so by hustling? Pole vaulting? Batting 1000? …Putting the ‘basket’ back in basketball? Using it as a bridge to the NBC studio, where his wife Patricia Arquette shoots Medium? Why are they so secretive about the plot? Stop beating around the bush.
With such little information it’s hard to see how this would make a tv series. We’ll see, I guess…..
Come on guys. Thomas Jane will be a UPS driver with whopping packages to deliver to suburban homes and urban high rise office buildings.
This kind of creative speculation could go on indefinitely.
