Airlines to Filter Porn from Onboard Wi-Fi
October 15, 2008 | 9 Comments
Planning a long commercial flight? Fire up your laptop and you likely won’t be able to catch up on your porn to blissfully pass the time. The Association of Flight Attendants has successfully petitioned Delta Airlines and American Airlines to filter out pornographic websites from their onboard wi-fi service. “The decision is hailed by flight attendants ‚Äî who’ve so far been responsible for preventing porn peeping ‚Äî and by activists concerned that children and other passengers might be subjected to objectionable material,” reports a Wired.com item. “They also worry unfettered onboard internet access poses a security and safety risk.” The airlines did not address how filtering out porn would alleviate security concerns. In a statement, the Electronic Privacy Information Center expressed concern and noted that passengers may still view potentially “inappropriate material stored on their laptops” and that corporate filters “open the door to blocking other content providers ‚Äî or others ‚Äî might deem inappropriate.”

It’s interesting to note that the reading of porn wasn’t addressed in these articles. My blog will obviously be incommunicado but what about GayPornTimes?? I’ve combed through some of your recent posts and it just occurred to me that you don’t post anything graphic. So where does that leave you and others?

Michael Lucas will launch an airline: Boneair. But I’m a little leery of what they will serve as drinks on board.
Probably SEVEN UP!
