Crime Blotter: We have a quick update in the capital murder case of Harlow Cuadra, who is accused of killing Cobra Video producer Bryan Kocis in January 2007. The case has been delayed once again, if only for a month. As we reported several weeks ago (CLICK HERE), one of Mr. Cuadra’s court-appointed attorneys, Stephen Menn, had twice filed paperwork to withdraw from the case due to economic hardship. He was initially denied; but today, Luzerne County (Penn.) Judge Peter Paul Olszewski Jr. allowed Mr. Menn, and a second attorney, Michael Senape, to withdraw “pending their filing by Friday of proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law in an evidence suppression matter.” Judge Olszewski then admitted attorneys Joseph D’Andrea and Paul J. Walker to the case, following their filing a declaration of intent last week to represent Mr. Cuada. Last Monday, his co-defendant, Joseph Kerekes, 34, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison without parole (CLICK HERE). The Citizen’s Voice newspaper reports Mr. Cuadra, 27, “refused a plea agreement” and had been scheduled to stand trial January 5; the new start date is Tuesday, February 17. I’d be curious to know what YOU think. You’ve been reporting on this for so long now, surely you must have an opinion. Or, at the very least, a perspective. We’d love to hear!

Victor maybe JC feels like the sports writers who inbetween writing about Sundays big game or the Spring training report, has to write a “crime” story about a NFL player shot at a club or arrested for drugs etc.

The Harlow and Joe story is followed avidly at one blog, where everyone leaves plenty of opinion.(Click my on my name for direct link)

Kudos for JC continuing to report on a subject most porn producers AND Pornsumers wish would go away!
