Performer Rod Barry has entered rehab for alcohol abuse. He made the announcement on Monday via his blog (CLICK HERE), and checked in later that day. In an entry titled “My Battle” he writes, “After twenty-years battling alcoholism, I’m checking into the VA’s alcohol rehabilitation program today. I’m not quite sure why it took me this long, but I realized that [I’ve] been hurting not only myself, but the friends and family that I love. Now I’ll get a chance to make amends and get healthy. The rehab program is a 24 day in-patient program. It begins with a 3 day detox program. But it’s going to be a long 3 days.” Mr. Barry also stated his intention to remain working in the skin trade upon his recovery. Best of luck to you, Rod. We’re rooting for you, babe. He published an email address, so CLICK HERE to send Mr. Barry your good thoughts and counsel.

I’m glad Rod is taking the steps to improve his life, but it’s rather premature to state his intention to remain in the industry. That may have been one of the roots of his problem for all he knows.

Porn might just be this guys probem, drugs , alcohol, escorting are all things associated with taking this path in life, a sense of no self worth sets in, i hope he gets the help he needs, luckily for him he realised it before it was too late, most were NOT that fortunate!

“After twenty years battling alcoholism.” He says. WoW… They grow old fast.
Life before the age of thirty, young, dumb, and full of (you know what).
Life after the age of thirty. Time to get a life and become a valuable member of society.
I should know. Been there. Now I am tolerating younger people antics, and Attitudes.
Now I know what happens to screaming queens when they grow old.
But then that is my opinion. Gotta make a living.

Max, thanks for the comment. But I want to point out that getting involved in porn does not automatically lead to drug and alcohol abuse, escorting or low self-esteem.

Most porn actors don’t abuse drugs or liquor, many do not escort, and many half a healthy sense of self-worth.

Yes, many actors in general, porn or “mainstream,” are insecure people by nature who crave approbation and applause. But many also live relatively normal lives, too. It’s the singer, not the song.

I agree. I tend to think that using drugs and alcohol is what leads to drug and alcohol abuse.

Once he’s over his alcohol abuse, I would like to subject him to some ass abuse.
