Unzipped Offers Cover to Portland Mayor’s ‘Notorious Intern’
January 23, 2009 | 4 Comments
Press Release Roundup: Unzipped Media has offered “a cover story and a full nude layout” in Men, Freshmen or Unzipped magazines to Beau Breedlove, the young former administrative intern and ex-lover of Portland, Oregon mayor Sam Adams. News of their relationship has imperiled Adams’ political career, even though both have declared Breedlove was legally 18 when it turned intimate; he is now 21. Mr. Adams, 45, is expected to announce whether he will resign by the weekend. He has admitted to covering up the true nature of their relationship; Adams is the first openly gay major of a major U.S. city. “We would like to offer Mr. Breedlove this opportunity to share his side of the story,” said Unzipped Editorial Director David Kalmansohn. “In sharp contrast to the mayor, our site’s visitors are being extremely vocal about their desire to both see and hear from Mr. Breedlove, the nation’s newest most notorious intern.” [Image © Willamette Week; pinched from Queerty.]

Well I suppose I love a *pr* opportunity as much as the next struggling rag, but since when is it hip to emulate the National Enquirer? Seems trashy to take advantage of this unfortunate situation.
Tacky tacky tacky. But why not, Michael Lucas jumped all over John paulus back when he was outing Clay Aiken, so the real surprise is that someone or studio hasn’t done it already.
National Enquirer? It sounds more like Larry Flynt & Hustler magazine!
Looks a lot like father and son!
