Industry Debates Lucas, Corrigan War of Words

[Editor's note: Gay Porn Times has signed a deal to provide LGBT content to industry publication XBIZ.] The gay adult industry is abuzz over a war of words between Brent Corrigan and Michael Lucas, both gay adult performers, directors and company presidents, whose confrontation during a GAYVN Awards afterparty in San Francisco this past weekend has sparked a cyberspace debate with issues ranging from the efficacy of publicity stunts to child pornography. During the ceremony, San Francisco City Supervisor Bevan Dufty presented a commendation to Joan Irvine of the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection. Irvine gave a brief speech during which she thanked the gay adult industry for its advocacy in combating child pornography. As Irvine left the stage, Lucas, who has been seated nearby, rushed to the open microphone. He denounced Corrigan and upbraided the GAYVN judges who nominated him. Visconti Triplets, Fleshjack Sign Promo Pact

The three 20-year-old identical siblings — Jason, Jimmy and Joey — are exclusive to European all-male studio Elite Male. Fleshjack made the announcement over the weekend to coincide with the GAYVN Awards in San Francisco, which the Viscontis attended. Daniel Pacheco is the company’s affiliate manager and director of customer relations. The Viscontis will be flacking a newly developed line of products, including “a mouth Fleshjack, a butt Fleshjack and a Fleshjack dildo. Bel Ami Boys Punch Up Numbers Tonight

Jason Sechrest Launches DV8 Casting

[Edits: 8:25am, 2:20pm.] GAYVN Awards: Here are some facts and figures about the recently concluded GAYVN Awards. Yes, I know there’s a smackdown in progress between Michael Lucas and Brent Corrigan… I’ll have a report on that mess later today. In the meantime, here we go: Mr. Ricky Sinz is only the second person to waltz off with four GAYVN trophies in one night. The only other person to do it is Tony Dimarco, who snagged four hunks of Lucite in 2007 for MICHAEL LUCAS’ LA DOLCE VITA 1-2 (Lucas Entertainment), and picked up three more this year. Logan McRee and Jackson Wild won three awards apiece. Raging Stallion Studios leads all companies with 13 GAYVN trophies for TO THE LAST MAN and 16 overall. Dirty Bird Pictures and Titan Media tied for second place with four GAYVN wins each. [Edits 03/30/09, 11:30am.] GAYVN Weekend: The 2009 GAYVN Awards were handed out last night during a star-studded ceremony at the Castro Theater in San Francisco. In short, it was a very good night for Raging Stallion Studios, Ricky Sinz and Brent Corrigan. Among the highlights: comedian Alec Mapa brought down the house, Margaret Cho sang a song about Mr. Sinz’ cock (true) and Janice Dickinson was apparently feeling no pain. Plus, Michael Lucas brought the show to a screeching halt when he bumrushed the stage, commandeered the open microphone and denounced Mr. Corrigan, whose controversial past as an underage performer Mr. Lucas feels sets an unwelcome precedent. “Shame on you,” he said to the GAYVN judges who nominated Mr. Corrigan so many times tonight. GAYVN Weekend: Castro Packed with Porn

GAYVN Weekend: It’s a gorgeous day in San Francisco. The day started around brunch (reasonable, considering the previous night ended only a few hours earlier) and we did the whole touristy thing in the Castro and environs — riding the streetcars, visiting the location of Harvey Milk‘s camera shop, checking out the parade of sexalicious men. I awoke to about three or four text messages from people I only vaguely recall saying things like, “It was great to meet you last night…!” Wait, are you the butch Latino pup in the red briefs who was bouncing on a mini-trampoline outside the Dirty Boy Video party, or the model-handsome stunner with the cute bum handing out nightclub flyers who told me he was moving to Los Angeles soon to attend film school…? Anyway, porn stars were all over the place: There’s Derrick Hanson on one side of the street, Barrett Long and entourage on the other. That’s a trim-and-tanned Brent Corrigan ducking into a clothing store with a bootylicious Kaden Saylor. Outside the Castro Theatre we ran into directors Chris Steele, Doug Jeffries and Ben Leon, cameraman Ross Cannon and funnyman Bruce Vilanch, plus newcomer Samuel Colt, who said he was the one who showed me his dick last night… Um, you weren’t the only one, baby, but it was nice nonetheless. Agent Howard Andrew and promoter Brandon Baker both told me they’d already read and laughed over my previous blog entry (the “drunk blog”) and that kicked off a string of six or seven people who corralled me on the street with a similar opinion. What, no one’s ever drunk-blogged before…? I didn’t say anything that scandalous! On with the show.

The Scene: GAYVN Awards Tailgating

Drunk posting! I should be careful about what I post next because, well, I am not sober. But I promised a first-hand report on the 2009 GAYVN Awards pre-show festivities. I just came from, uh, let me think, the Hot House party at The Lookout in the Castro, just a hop, skip and a jump from the actual Castro Theater. There was a line down the block and around the corner but — ahem — I am a VIP so my GPTimes entourage was able to jump the line and head inside, where it was hot and sweaty and ass-to-cock from wall-to-wall. We’d run into Nash Lawler down the block, who’d warned us the place was so jammed that hapless porn stars were shooting out the windows from sheer pressure whenever someone walked in the front door. He was right. Before the Hot House shindig we’d popped over to The Lime, where we’d begun the night, to see the Visconti Triplets. But I also happily ran into Mason Wyler who filled me in on his latest slutty adventures. Taschen Touts ‘Tom of Finland XXL’

Mainstream publishing house Taschen has released Tom of Finland XXL — a comprehensive photobook covering six decades of the prolific artist’s iconic career. The tome is a follow-up to Taschen’s first Tom of Finland book, 1998′s The Art of Pleasure. Tom of Finland’s real name was Touko Laaksonen, and prior to the release of The Art of Pleasure, the artist “enjoyed an intense cult following in the international gay community, but was largely unknown to the broader audience,” the publisher said. The first book “gave Tom well-deserved recognition and increased his following exponentially. Tom of Finland XXL will fix him forever in the realm of fine art.” Accompanying the images are personal essays commissioned for the project by such disparate personalities as author and social critic Camillle Paglia, novelist Armistead Maupin, filmmaker John Waters, and designer Todd Oldham. Harlow Cuadra Murder Trial Cost County $112,000

[Editor's note: Gay Porn Times has signed a deal to provide LGBT content to industry publication XBIZ.] Crime Blotter: The price tag for Luzerne County, Pa., prosecutors to put Harlow Cuadra and Joseph Kerekes behind bars amounted to more than $112,000. Cuadra, 27, was convicted of first-degree homicide earlier this month, while Kerekes, 35, pleaded guilty to second-degree homicide in December. The former escorts, gay adult producers and website entrepreneurs were both sentenced to life in prison for the January 2007 murder of Cobra Video producer Bryan Kocis. In related news, Judge Peter Paul Olszewski Jr. on Monday signed an order directing Cuadra to pay more than $3000 in restitution to the Kocis estate, according to a newspaper report.
