Blog Wars: Michael Lucas v. Diesel Washington
March 25, 2009 | 26 Comments
Blog Wars: First there was the Diesel Washington-vs.-Kameron Scott blog war, which gave me a tension headache when I tried to summarize the situation, so I blew it off, figuring another skirmish would erupt soon enough. And it has: Mr. Washington zapped Michael Lucas last week on his Crimes Against Nature blog. Today, Mr. Lucas zapped back via his Lucas Blog. The roots of this brouhaha stretch back into a recent debate Mr. Lucas kicked off about racism in gay porn and a dearth of what he considers quality African-American models. CLICK HERE for the scoop…
First up, Mr. Washington’s complaint (significantly edited for grammatical clarity, so click over to his blog to read the original entry with capital letters, exclamation points and ellipses run amok, etc.)
“I read his blog about the homophobia in the black community — bullshit. M.L. knows nothing about the situation. He really needs to stop opening his mouth about subjects he knows nothing about. He really should stick to talking about what he knows best — the Russian Jew thing! I don’t care if he employs black models in his movies or whatnot. You can’t speak about things that you know nothing about. I had to check M.L. a few times at the Gay Porn Summit in 2008 for making comments that he knew nothing about. It’s all hype and bullshit and he is taking things too far. I’m here to give him a reality check: stop talking about things that don’t effect [sic] ya! You’re not black, or ever will be black, so stop talking on the behalf of the black community.”
Mr. Lucas reprinted Mr. Washington’s entry and added his own comments in a differently colored font. So, again, click over to read the entry as he presents it. In the meantime, here’s the gist of what Mr. Lucas said in response:
Washington: “M.L. knows nothing about the situation…”
Lucas: “Really? Do I not read newspapers, watch TV, or listen to rap?”Washington: “I had to check M.L. a few times at the Gay Porn Summit in 2008 for making comments that he knew nothing about…”
Lucas: “What the hell is he talking about?”Washington: “Stop talking about things that don’t effect [sic] ya…”
Lucas: “Actually, it does affect me very much, as it affects any gay man, no matter what color he is.”Washington: “You’re not black, or ever will be black…”
Lucas: “It’s very insightful. I will never be black, but I see no problem talking about any issue that any community of the world has.”Washington: “…so stop talking on the behalf of the black community…”
Lucas: “Actually, I never did talk on behalf of the black community.”
“Diesel Washington is not the sharpest knife in the drawer,” Mr. Lucas notes, “and he decided to make an anti-Semitic comment, where he basically said that I should shut up and only talk about the ‘Jewish thing.’ This points out the anti-Semitism in the African-American community, which I believe goes back to the 1960s… I wanted to bring it to the industry’s attention. Lots of industry professionals are Jews, and I don’t think that such comments should be tolerated.”
“Thank you, M.L., for the press,” Mr. Washington blogged in response.

I for one pine for the day when we have more Native American’s in porn. They are naturally hairless in my experience, and have such beautiful skin, sultry eyes and thick manes. But leave bareback to the sexy horse riding scenes, please. Always sport a teepee, boys!

Can’t we all just get along?
I wrote my response and its posted Online right now!!
I think Michael Lucas and Diesel Washington should both out their money where their mouths are and suck each other’s dicks or shut the fuck up!
I’m sorry, but Michael Lucas is pretty much on the ball here. Why can’t a white person discuss homophobia in the black community? It is a problem that affects everybody, and one that many people now like to blame the win of Prop 8 on. Don’t know if that’s true, but how is this not a relevant issue worth discussing?
this is reminiscent of a show I saw on bigotry and prejudice…
Every ethnic group was asked a series of questions about racism and how it affects other ethnic groups, as well as their own group.
One question in particular caught my attention, where it asked: out of all the groups assembled, which experienced the most prejudice?
The results were surprising to everyone involved, the majority of each ethnic group, with the exception of the Caucasians, answered their OWN ethnic group. (Mind you, even SOME Caucasians answered their group as well)
When the answers were read, each group was shocked to learn their group didn’t get the majority of votes. Emotions ranged from anger and frustration to hurt at this revelation.
I think people take for granted history and don’t learn from it, they use it in a way to place blame and hold their group as the one experiencing the most forms of bigotry today. They inadvertently place their group on a pedestal as a result.
Can’t we as a culture accept bigotry/hatred/prejudice as bad, regardless of what kind it is?
It seems collectively an issue whomever it’s directed at; we must be vigilant within our OWN groups as well to fight it. Because ALL groups, including African-Americans, Caucasians, Asians, (and whatever people like to call themselves) can exhibit prejudice. Gay or not too.
I can think of nothing more appropriate for Messrs. Washington and Lucas to be doing with their time. Please continue.
What does that have to do with rampant homophobia in the black community and those who are victimized as a result’s warrant to address it?
Asspennies
Washington’s ego is as bigger or bigger perhaps then his muscles and his cock, and in this case friends its not a good thing.
He picks fights because no one is really talking about him anymore since he is no longer at titan so he is trying to keep his name out there.
Wow so he developed some new fuck positions great, wow so he created some fake characters for his blog wonderful..now he is picking on Michael Lucas…yawn!
Focus more on your career and less on your feuds of the month.
Idiotic rants from Diesel Washington aside, as this guys is as dumb as a box of rocks, Michael is right on the point of the African-American community being anti-semetic and homophobic. I’m sure there are explanations, but a fact is a fact. Michael knows that everyone should be able to discuss it, since it’s a free country. This issue concerns not just the African-American community, but everybody. Free discussions and criticism will be healthy for African Americans. Nothing should be above criticism.
I would hope you commenters reread my first post to get the full scope of what I meant.
Please don’t misinterpret it as a reason to continue this dissent into even more anger and hostility.
All can agree Prejudice/hatred exists and is abhorrent, so why we contributing to it?
How exactly is what Diesel Washington said “anti-semetic”? He simply told Michael Lucas to speak about a community he knows about….the jewish one. Michael Lucas is a douchebag, and racist who uses stereotypes of black people to justify, and excuse his own prejudices. Black people are no more or less homophobic than any other group. Btw, the myth that blacks are responsible for the passage of prop 8 has been debunked a while ago, but it’s funny to continually read idiotic comments from white gay men, who are obsessed with blamimng the black community for their marriage problems. The racism among white gay men never fails to repulse and astound me.
As far as Diesel Washington goes, i’m not even a fan of his. I find his persona stereotypical and one note, but his take on Lucas is spot on.
Because it Sells!
I think it silly at this point to compare battle scars of bigotry between groups who we know have forms adversity.
I do think that prop 8 was passed because of the turn out of black votes – but only because the gay community needs to provide more outreach to the black community.
This example may seem out of left field, but I feel it’s a perfect example of what I’m talking about:
I recall seeing an episode of Celebrity rehab on Vh1- Rodney King discussed this very topic which I’m bringing up.
In the ep about Rodney – He recalled the events leading up to the court date where Gay’s were protesting some form of gay issue outside the courthouse; but after the verdict when Rodney left the courthouse, all those Gay protesters outside stopped what they were doing, dropped their signs and wrote on the back of them and began protesting the verdict.
Rodney says he loves the gay’s for this reason… and we need more of this.
We need to remind African-American’s that gays, especially GAY AFRICAN-AMERICANS are ICONS of the civil rights movement.
We’d be better served mutually defending our rights, rather then argue about the various prejudice that separate us – as the numbers make all the difference in the world.
Like I said, the myth that blacks are solely responsible for the passage of prop 8, is just a MYTH long ago debunked. White gay men refuse to let it go, which only feeds their racism.
“Like I said, the myth that blacks are solely responsible for the passage of prop 8, is just a MYTH long ago debunked. White gay men refuse to let it go, which only feeds their racism.”
????? Seems like your not reading any of the posts I’ve left.
Maybe you should go back and read them again.
Read carefully: “all those Gay protesters outside stopped what they were doing, dropped their signs and wrote on the back of them and began protesting the verdict.”
- Kind of a contradiction according to your statement that gays are racist.
The exit polls did show a lot of black voters voted for prop 8 and their haven’t been any further studies to challenge this. So I don’t know what your talking about when you say this was disproven.
I think people take for granted history and don’t learn from it, they use it in a way to place blame and hold their group as the one experiencing the most forms of bigotry today. They inadvertently place their group on a pedestal as a result.
Please stop posting your comments if they are not constructive….
I’m going to say this again for you: I think it silly at this point to compare battle scars of bigotry between groups who we know have forms adversity. When in reality we should ban together to challenge them.
Michael your posts are not progress they are just noise.
To pass prop 8:
Latinos voted 53%
Blacks voted 52%
Over a half.
48% Didn’t – So my point about making an outreach towards the black community might make a huge difference just by smaller percentages.
It’s pissing me off that everybody is placing their experiences with prejudice and adversity above other groups. Micheal you don’t know what your saying, neither does Diesel. It’s not acceptable in either case racial or gay, so stop trying to argue defeatist points.
Like I said, Can’t we as a culture accept bigotry/hatred/prejudice as bad, regardless of what kind it is?
The other thing too is that your attributing bigotry on strictly a black/white basis in America.
You might want to read on the Darfur crisis, or the Rwandan Genocide.
American involvement was reduced in part because officials didn’t feel it was a racial war since it was a bunch of ‘Africans’ Meanwhile, to those ‘Africans’ Hutu and Tutsis are considered an entirely separate ethnicity.
Prejudice is everywhere in every culture, even the homogeneous ones.
Stop generalizing groups when you should know better.
This has nothing to do with prop 8; that is just a symptom of homophobia in black america…and a red herring in this context. Disclaimer: No, obviously the blacks didn’t pass prop 8 alone, but they voted somewhere between 58 and 70% in favor. One hell of a sample on which to base a generalization. That indicates to me that they would have if they could have, and the majority of those that voted did their best, and were partly responsible for its succuss. Ironically, that wouldn’t have happened if obama weren’t the candidate.
Every time that homophobia in black culture (a staple of black culture given the reliance on enforcing gender roles…acting tough because when all you’ve got is attitude…) is brought up, some people feel they need to remind everyone of the homophobia in the white community….and go on all manner of tangents–appartheid in darfur? Seriously? Wtf? Why? Why can’t these issues be addressed independently? If it’s higher per capita (along with antisemitism), why, and why isn’t that a legitimate question that anyone can ask? You can deny that, but not with evidence.
And the notion that unless you’re black, you can’t discuss black culture is fatuous and false. It sure doesn’t apply to the good things, does it–black history month? Only the negatives. Discrimination’s discrimination, and I don’t care what color someone is who’s perpetuating it, or what religious/cultural background…
Once again, the myth that blacks solely are responsible for the passage of prop 8 has long ago been found to be BULLSHIT.
Homophobia is no more or less a problem in the black community, than anywhere else. And yes, there is a huge amount of racism in the gay community, as every person of color well knows. Prop 8 has given certain people a license to spout off their bigotry at every opportunity.
It’s fine to discuss anything, but as Diesel pointed out, Lucas (and any other non black person) has no fucking clue about what it’s like to be black in america, so quit pretending you have any authority to speak for us.
Nate Silver at fivethirtyeight.com (the statistician who accurately predicted the outcome of the general election) thorougly debunked the “black vote caused prop 8 to pass” myth:
http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2008/11/prop-8-myths.html
The gist: it was older voters that passed prop 8, blacks not so much.
Blacks voted between 58-70% in favor of prop hate.
And no clue about black america? You tell that to lgbt people vitimized by black homophobia that they have no clue about what it’s like to be black in america (all those impacted by prop 8, which black america contributed to significantly). I think they’ve got a clue. As if being black in america excuses black homophobia, or should prevent non black people from talking about it.
It ironic, I think Blacks are no different than whites. As such, Blacks are susceptible to be capable of prejudice and bigotry just like any other white person. Nuff’ Said.
Move on.
Anyone ever hear of the phrase, “You don’t have to bite the donut to know it’s sweet”? A few weeks ago, I was watching a YouTube video where the motivational speaker Esther Hicks was discussing Martin Luther King and his assassination. She’s Caucasian, but I think she did a good job presenting the information and giving a different perspective on it. So I do not agree with Diesel Washington. A person does not have to be black in order to understand issues pertaining to the black community. I’ll admit that I don’t think much of Michael Lucas as a person. But I read some of his blog entries and he seems intelligent. As long as he is educated on the subject of black homophobia and not giving out misinformation, then I don’t see the harm in him talking about it. In fact, I think it could be a good thing. After all, Michael is the CEO of a prosperous company, meaning that his success gives him some power. Someone in his position has a good chance of making his voice heard regarding important topics. I have to question Diesel Washington’s motives in starting this feud. If he had a problem with Michael, then why not take it up with him privately? Instead, he made this into a public matter with his blog entries and YouTube video. That’s immature behavior in my opinion. On some level, he might believe he is standing up for himself. But this whole thing seems like a publicity stunt on his part.
It is a publicity stunt. His star is falling people are talking about the new faces in porn and not him so much anymore so he has to keep his name out there. He is like George Bush when his numbers started to fall he started a war and then people talked about him again, took notice.
Mr Washington called out Lucas who is always making movies, winning awards and in the press.
It made some sense but it seems that the chose the wrong topic to debate on.
I’m not Jewish but it does not mean that I could not comment on problems that some jews face today. It may not mean that I’m an expert but none the less I have a right to comment on them.
