GAYVN Awards: 2009 Facts & Figures
March 30, 2009 | 5 Comments
[Edits: 8:25am, 2:20pm.] GAYVN Awards: Here are some facts and figures about the recently concluded GAYVN Awards. Yes, I know there’s a smackdown in progress between Michael Lucas and Brent Corrigan… I’ll have a report on that mess later today. In the meantime, here we go: Mr. Ricky Sinz is only the second person to waltz off with four GAYVN trophies in one night. The only other person to do it is Tony Dimarco, who snagged four hunks of Lucite in 2007 for MICHAEL LUCAS’ LA DOLCE VITA 1-2 (Lucas Entertainment), and picked up three more this year. Logan McRee and Jackson Wild won three awards apiece. Raging Stallion Studios leads all companies with 13 GAYVN trophies for TO THE LAST MAN and 16 overall. Dirty Bird Pictures and Titan Media tied for second place with four GAYVN wins each. After Raging Stallion’s cowboy epic, the only other blue movie to snag more than one win was Titan’s BREAKERS, with two citations. We’ve also got a rundown of the presenters and presenting teams. CLICK HERE for the lists…
Here are the tallies by studio, film and individual (bear with me if we uncover a discrepancy.) Please note that although co-productions are counted — such as Dirty Bird’s collaboration with Prodigy Pictures — these totals do not include distributors. Winning websites are lumped in with their affiliated studio.
Also, individual wins (and nominations) — such as Best Top and Bottom, Best Newcomer and Performer of the Year — are not counted towards a studio tally, even if the performer is a studio exclusive. Those wins/noms are for a specific person, and the trophy is awarded only to them.

Thank you for the facts JC.
Michael Lucas was like a streaker at a football game. He ran across the field showing his ass while everyone laughed at him.
First, the fact that “stubby” Sinz won four awards, including best top speaks volumes about the state of
thisthis side of the industry. Now, you have to discount that he’sRaging Stallion’sAEBN’s only lifetime exclusive, so he was guaranteed to win… but best top? Please.Of course, the irony of the evening is that Michael Lucas stole the spotlight from AEBN, doing them an enormous favor. By taking the heat off them, he helped them successfully taint the awards without fear of reprisal. So the new convention is that when you sponsor the awards, your studio will win. At least its no longer the mere junior high school popularity contest it was for so many years. Money talks and bullshit takes center stage.
The referral to the award handed Stubby was priceless: a chunk of lucite.
For what its worth, congrats to AEBN.
All this proves is how fixed the awards are toward the the company who put the whole thing on!
I applaud Michael Lucas for protecting us all from the dangers presented us by scheming underage porn actors who enter the business through lying about their ages.
While others may think this not a serious matter, it most certainly is.
Nothing gives prudes and the authorities more leverage against the entire gay adult entertainment industry than evidence that underage performers have been openly involved in it.
Just when you think you know what kind of a society you live in . . . surprise! You do not. In the U.S. right now, the religious right is itching for a hot button issue it can exploit to mobilize its troops. If enough of them start yammering, politicians, the president included, will not be able to ignore them.
Do you want *your* freedom to view the materials you as an adult wish to view endangered by some twerpy grasping underage actor? There are enough hot people 18 and over that we do not need anybody under that age, nor should we even want them in any circumstance.
Long before Ricky Sinz and Tony Dimarco, another performer went home with 4 trophies in a single night. In 1996, Kurt Young won Best Actor, Best Newcomer, Best Sex Scene (with Derek Cameron) and Performer of the Year.
