Crime Blotter: Cuadra Appeals Guilty Verdict

Crime Blotter: According to media reports, Harlow Cuadra is appealing his guilty verdict. The relevant documents were filed today at the Luzerne County, Pennsylvania courthouse by his attorney, Paul J. Walker. Last month, Mr. Cuadra, 27, was convicted of first-degree homicide in the January 2007 murder of Cobra Video producer Bryan Kocis. He was sentenced to life in prison when the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict during the penalty phase of the trial. In December 2008, Joseph Kerekes, Cuadra’s former partner and one-time co-defendant, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received the mandatory sentence of life in prison. The plea spared him from the death penalty. Stay tuned for details.

Anyone know the status of Cobra ? The website seems to still be active and you can find the videos on various web stores. Did someone buy the name ?

It is established that the production of porn is criminalized in PA and that paying someone money to perform in adult videos is criminalized in PA.
Cobra Video and Bryan Kocis’ Estate are apparently operating under the assumption that the US Attorney will indict everyone in Luzerne County EXCEPT them.

All Bush Appointed US Attorneys in America right now are operating under “the grace of President Obama” because, traditionally, all US Attorneys are expected to resign when the President who appoitned them leaves office. Bill Clinton fired all sitting US Attorneys when he took office.
The point here is that The Current US Attorney with jurisdiction over Luzerne County would have to have sit for brains to competely ignore Cobra Video when the production of porn business is criminalized in PA AND when the US Attorneys right to continue in his job is UNDER REVIEW by a new Democratic President.
