Happy Friday Monday Tuesday, folks. Our group-blog project kicked off last week and for the next few days, we’ll be revisiting the past decade greatest hits from GayPornLand. I’ll be chiming in shortly, but in the meantime please visit everyone else and see what they have to say. Funny how often Dean Phoenix is appearing on so many lists…

* Mark Kliem of LavenderLounge.com.
* Gossip columnist Billy Masters.
* Jason Sechrest of JasonCurious.com.

I cannot believe it is a decade already. When you(JC) said that in another post I actually had to get out a calendar and count…. But it is, crazy….
This should be interesting..
Please. Please. Please. When you discuss Racism amongst yourselves, can you have an honest conversation about why studios and websites continue to fail to cultivate, promote or encourage black performers. At this point, it’s not even shameful. It’s asymptomatic of the Gay Porn Industry’s death spiral. (IMHO)
I know my bleating about this gets tired after a while but I can’t expect to change it with an occasional interview with an industry insider bemoaning its existence.

JC, when are you doing your best-of memories? I’m curious as I have been reading you since the radvideo days!!
What is up with the bullshit about black guys being somehow left out of the equation? What a bunch of whiny ass victim bullshit. The adult web industry is packed to the rafters with every flavor, sub flavor, and sub-sub flavor of black guys doing every possible thing to each other and to every other race on this planet and visa versa. If you are hot, black, gay and willing to get it on in front of a camera, you can definitely find lots of work and I will definitely consume it. Get over yourselves, get a life, and stop trying to find an issue to have with an industry that has no issues when it comes to “multiracial” porn.
Am I the only one who wonders if it wouldn’t have been wiser to gave a separate ‘Dishing the Decade in Gay Porn’ blog with the above people contributing their own stories/viewpoints? Or am I just lazy because I feel disinclined to regularly visit a dozen different blogs to find out if they’ve even started addressing the subject?
Oh, and it’s my view that any change to the racial makeup of gay porn is going to come from consumers putting down $$ and not bloggers/insiders talking about it. Because even IF there is some racial bias in the industry as a whole (and I’m not saying I believe there is), it will be FAR outweighed by their desire to make money if consumers show them that is INDEED what they want…
Cosign, tre.
I can’t believe there’s no one from Nightcharm.com on this ‘panel.’ The omission dilutes the supposed ‘authenticity’ of the project. No other site’s covered queer porn — during the last decade — with as much top-notch writing and smart reporting as NC.
Oops.
This is really exciting to all 9 people.
Dean Phoenix is on all of my lists, even the ones that aren’t about porn!!
@Billy, I’ll take these nine over Kruezer @ Blight’s revolting and fantastical, technicolored and tortured descriptions of sweaty flea-bag motel sex with Matthew Rush any day.
Actually this has been really interesting to read about the favorites. It tells a lot about the person doing the writing…
Jesus_Mary, the sick individual you refer to has recently stated ON THE RECORD that the lies he publishes are for “entertainment” purposes. I say Rush should entertain him with a big fat lawsuit.
btw, the graphic doesn’t help your cause, JCA.
