Simon Rex Jokes About Solo Tape in ‘Rex’ Pilot

Some years ago we entered a new era of pop culture permissiveness when sex tapes catapulted Paris Hilton into worldwide fame and cemented the celebrity of Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee. We’ve hit a new iteration, I think, with the pilot episode of Rex featuring actor Simon Rex playing a version of himself scrabbling to get off the celebrity D-list. His own real-life solo porn tape is a major plot point in the pilot. The movie/s are not mentioned by name but Mr. Rex makes plenty of hay out of them nonetheless. Here’s the kicker — Rex is laugh-out-loud funny. An awkward kitchen conversation with his parents about the porno is among the show’s highlights — his dad, played by Victor Garber, blurts, “What would you call it? An art film?” — and at one point Mr. Rex protests that the tape was “actually a good thing — it got me a lot of work!” Purely fiction, but funny nonetheless. Never saw the sex tape in full but have seen several stills of Rex in action.
They were hot then and still look good today.
Have two of the three tapes. Rex was HOTT with ripped bod, blue eyes, pretty cock. Not all that expressive but who the fuck cares, totally doable.
Saw the pilot for the show it was hilarious. Lets hope it gets picked up.
First time posting here, etc. But had to do it because I watched the pilot and it was DAMN FUNNY. That whole scene trying to “date” Lance Bass was too much. Jamie Pressly killed it. Never saw the porn tapes but dude was funny in this.
Looks like a winner and I always had a thing for Rex and it was Brad Posey BTW who filmed him!
We just watched this. It was surprisingly funny! This idea of the celebrity d-list has been done a lot since Kathy Griffin over the past few years but Simon Rex put a funny spin on it.
The “REX” pilot is HILARIOUS! If Simon is really searching for more controversy, why doesn’t he get back in touch with his porn director, Brad Posey from Club1821.com and do a NEW j/o video!
