bo-dixon-hothouseThere’s an interesting interview going around with onetime porn actor Bo Dixon, the burly, hirsute, 6′2 man-mountan whose erotic career was brief, but striking — solo flick MINUTE MAN 24 for COLT Studio and the hardcore PAGING DR. FINGER for Hot House Entertainment. I think the article penned by J.J. Sanchez originated with the Gay & Lesbian Times. In any case, Mr. Dixon has quit the porn world and today he is a competitive bodybuilder. In the interview he admits that his time in GayPornLand was troubling. He’s had issues with stalkers and bipolar fans and — this part has me scratching my head —he is dismayed that his nude photos can be seen all over the internet. In fact, he almost quit the bodybuilding circuit in embarrassment. “I had no clue that the adult film company would sell my images,” he says. “They’re everywhere! Today, my image is promoting gay muscle worship sites, muscle bear parties, sex sites, dating sites — you name it.” CLICK HERE for more details…

After shooting DR. FINGER, he met his current boyfriend, who was unhappy about the porn work. However, the boyfriend “made me realize that shooting the video was a mistake that I’ll have to accept and deal with it. It is my tattoo to wear,” he says.

The G&LT interviewer questions Mr. Dixon’s apparent naivete about the kind of work he accepted. “The only thing I knew about adult films was that they were rented or sold in the back of a video store. I thought it was a small underground industry,” he says. “I didn’t know there would be worldwide distribution in multimedia via the internet. I didn’t realize the photos would be searchable through Google.”

I’m sorry Bo Dixon had such a bad time of it; some guys just aren’t suited for this line of work. And porn actors do tend to draw a particular brand of crazy among obsessed fans who breed on the interwebs. But Mr. Dixon didn’t shoot his fuck flicks in Bratislava or Budapest in 1997; they were recently filmed three years apart — 2005 and later in 2008 — in California by major companies. That kind of denial is disingenuous at best and it can lead to a lot of sleepless nights.

He’s online at Facebook.com/BoDixon.

What ? Oh come on is this for real ?
I’m sorry but this almost sounds made up, I don’t know how many times I have read things where people in the porn industry are told time and time again you sure this is what you want to do, because the films you make will follow you around for the rest of your life. Everyone will see you, everyone!
This one is my favorite part “he is dismayed that his nude photos can be seen all over the internet.”
What did you think they were gonna take all the ‘Bo Dixon’ movies, pix etc and give them all to you when you left the biz never to be seen again ?

I get that you might be ashamed or embarassed to be in porn, and its not something you might want to brag about. Tho come on here and be surprised your image is out there ?
The statements in the article made by Mr. Dixon belong in the WTF? file.

Wait until he finds out how those horseless carriage things have caught on.

There’s obviously more to this story than what’s said here and at GLT. Dixon says he didn’t realize his images were going to be splattered across the internet, but “work[s] a day job in marketing/IT management to pay the bills.” Really? How can you possibly work in IT and not see the imagery on the web?

And who in their right mind would move across the country and into someone’s home, whom they met on the internet, sight unseen?

We’ve all seen the contracts that major studios such as Hot House and Colt use, and they clearly delineate the use of the images, who owns the copyright, and the model’s pretty much unconditional waiver to any control of the images.

And young and naïve? Umm, if you’re “…a man over 40…” and Paging Dr. Finger was released in 2008 (I think), I don’t think being somewhere between 39 and “over 40″ qualifies as young… maybe naïve, but, well, even that’s a stretch.

The holes in this story are endless. So what’s the deal here? This seems to go way beyond a case of buyer’s remorse. Is this all an act to appease the new bf? And seriously, do you really think giving interviews is the best way to put the matter behind you?

Dixon is doing pretty much the same thing as when he shot the movies… seeking attention and approval, and sadly, in all the wrong places.

He woulda come off a whole lot better had he said that he was meeting too many of the wrong people, he did not know who wanted to be with him for him…or Bo Dixon porn star.
He was also featured in 3 calenders the 2009 edition of BearMen he made the cover. Guess people don’t buy or look at calenders with naked men on them either.

That’s a head-scratcher all right. I must say that I’ve stopped being amazed – while still being amused, at the apparently boundless ability some people have to fool themselves… ;)

Nah dont believe a word of it esp coming from a Bodybuilder the storys of Arnold trying to buy back all his nude photos and x-rated film are LEGENDARY in the community.

  8. Cosign on July 5, 2009 7:42 pm

This guy is from Alabama and may just be a little naive going to and working in “the big city”.

Nice to see Brad Allison – the stalker in mention posting his journal on here – the internet lawyers will catch up to you Mr. for all of your slander and lies = You are an evil person.

Folks – get a psycho stalker like Mr. Allison, VA Musc Wolf, Agnes Dei, Jackal and feel the burn of the porn industry. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHO is typing on the internet. But, someone does.

Oh come on…who is this guy kidding?? You watch that scene with him topping some smooth muscle boy and he is enjoying every second and every dollar he got from doing it. This is a bunch of BS. Just another narcissistic muscle whore who is now crying because he has a new boyfriend that doesnt like his seedy slutty past. give me a break!

  11. Scott on July 30, 2009 10:45 am

I’ve read the story too and I find it completely ridiculous that somebody could perform in a porn video in 2008 and claim naivete that it would have international distribution or that photos from it would appear everywhere on the web. Especially somebody with a marketing background who claims to work in IT. I have lost all respect for Bo Dixon. Playing a victim in public doesn’t bode well for a competitive bodybuilder and chronically complaining about the pitfalls of fame while continuing to seek it as hungrily as he appears to be speaks volumes.

  12. Scott on July 30, 2009 10:48 am

I think Rob hit the nail on the head, when he said Bo Dixon is, “… is now crying because he has a new boyfriend that doesnt like his seedy slutty past.” That is what is behind ALL OF BO’s crying I believe.

  13. Dino on July 30, 2009 10:57 am

Looks like the writer of this article just did a third-person interview and pulled only “parts” of the original one to make “his own” article! Bo admits that the porn business is not for him. And I believe that even if you do a nude photo shoot or even an erotic video, that does not make you public domain. His images are being used to sell products he doesn’t endorse and websites that he has nothing to do with. Why cant people be happy for him? I mean, it takes a lot of guts to admit your mistakes in front of the entire world!

  14. Alan on July 30, 2009 12:46 pm

When did ‘I didn’t know’ become ‘admitting your mistakes’? ;)

  15. Manster on July 30, 2009 2:12 pm

Oh c’mon now. Anyone with a grain of sense knows that once something is released on the internet, it travels at lightning speed all over the GLOBE and it is there for as long as the internet exists!

And let’s also face the fact that if it were not for what he feels is an “infamous” disclosure, he would not be known or even considered for this or any other magazine interview. For in this world today “SEX SELLS”, and we all know that!

    Manster (Accept No Substitute)!

  16. Steve on July 30, 2009 2:34 pm

I could care less about if he is being honest or not. He has his sown stuff to deal with. While he deals with his I will deal with my “stuff” by taking matters into my own hands when I see Bo on screen. WOOF!

  17. Steve on July 30, 2009 2:35 pm

I meant he has his own stuff….not his sown stuff. Funny play on words with that typo. ;-)

  18. Michael da Baer on July 30, 2009 2:57 pm

I for one am glad he has a porn past – with a kick as* body like that…it can only fuel the imagination, yeah, he may regret it…most men do when they look back at it…but it did put him on the radar of the gay community and even with regrets, he should be thankful that people have, in a good way, reached out to him directly to find out the real scoop – not listen to the 3rd person and BS report that is posted here…he’s a decent man trying to make a living…who hasn’t made a bad choice or two?

  19. Tim on July 30, 2009 5:07 pm

This article really stretches the truth. BO loves his fans and goes out of his way to express that. His boyfriend has no problem with his past and oh yea by the way This interviewer if thats what you going to call him never ever spoke to Bo. That must have been some interview. People don’t believe everything you read.

  20. Wess on July 30, 2009 6:25 pm

Bo Dixon found this article on the internet – just goes to show you how you have to watch exactly how you say things to a reporter – and this one, I never spoke to. My partner does not have a problem with my past or my fans at all. Some guys just are NOT made for porn – simple as that. But, I love my fans, and you have all seen me with a boner, so what! LOL So here is the article.

Everyone is so basic. Your minds are basic. Don’t you all realize that THIS discussion is what makes people famous? If nobody commented on this article, Bo nor the website would receive any money from it. Come on peeps. Learn the basics of FREE advertising.

  22. Alan on July 31, 2009 10:01 am

^^^ If Bo’s not working in porn anymore, how does this discussion contribute to his ‘making money’? Do you think he’s practically the only porn (ex-porn, whatever) model to get paid residuals?? Or maybe a ’sugar daddy’ (trust-fund twink?) will see this and ’sponsor’ Bo – that’s the ‘Hollywood screenplay ending’, it doesn’t happen in real life!

If Aaron really thinks that a dozen (or even a few dozen) comments in a porn blog (even if it’s the best out there JC ;) ) is going to somehow impact either COLT’s or Bo’s bottom line in any kind of significant factor, then he’s the one who needs to learn a few business fundamentals…

In the meantime, I’ll continue to exercise my right to free speech, because I like to! ;)

  23. Scott on July 31, 2009 10:45 am

Aaron (above) hit the nail on the head, people. This is all garbage and it’s all publicity for Bo Dixon – I suspect designed by Bo and his “partner” to generate buzz about his name in advance of the launch of his new website. If they had really moved on from or didn’t have a problem with his past, they would simply quit whining about it, and move on.

  24. Tapak on August 18, 2009 1:34 pm

I dont care what is his past or what he is trying to do.What I cares is he won the Mr. Georgia Open Class Heavyweight winner which helps the gay youth to look for role models while many talented people out there is watching porn or spending time in nightclubs. Many people go through all this situations.

  25. James on December 6, 2009 8:49 am

Hypocrite is the only word for this man! Having met him in his heyday when he was sponging off multiple “sponsors” at the same time, he knew exactly what he was getting into when he got into porn. This man was anything but “naive”.

  26. Jason on January 16, 2010 5:42 pm

I jsut want to say that his boyfriend sounds like a control freak. He did porn—big deal! It’s not like he’s getting out here screwing every guy behind his boyfriend’s back.

There’s things in all our pasts. For instance, I used to do erotic bear photos online and my partner doesn’t mind I used to do that. He understands that the past is the past. I could never imagine my partner ever saying anything I did in my past was this huge mistake.

  27. Ass_Pennies on January 17, 2010 1:08 am

Lots of gay men would like to date a former porn star. I can’t imagine why. Yes, there are a lot of things to regret, and if you have ambitions that exceed porn, porn is one of those things.
