Corbin Fisher Plans Assault Over Piracy

Corbin Fisher on Wednesday said it would begin a vigilant campaign against content thieves and trademark violators. COO Brian Dunlap said that with the industry beset with so much piracy Corbin Fisher plans “to go after these criminals and welcome any company willing to join us in and contribute to these efforts.” Dunlap said that Corbin Fisher plans on teaming up with other content producers on legal efforts pursuing copyright violators and content thieves. He also announced that the company has tapped attorney Marc J. Randazza as the company’s full-time general counsel. Randazza, a member of the First Amendment Lawyers Association (FALA), has been a litigator for seven years and specializes in 1st Amendment law, intellectual property, trademark law and media law. Drake Rock Media Upgrades to Downloads

Drake Rock Media will now allow its members to download videos from its network of all-male, pro/am websites including flagship DrakeRock.com. College Boys Live helmer George O’Donnell won the Outfest 2009 Special Programming Award for Emerging Talent sponsored by Kodak. Outfest is the Los Angeles LGBT film festival. The Outfest 2009 Awards were presented on July 19 at the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex in Hollywood. ‘Patient Zero’ Files Suit Over Right to Privacy

Beauty Shot: Male Model, Feminine Posing

Beauty Shot: I’ve got an unusual photo pick for a Beauty Shot today. No, you’re not looking at a Photoshopped glamour pic of Falcon Studios exclusive Roman Heart; this is actually a promo shot of cutie Taylor Lautner from the upcoming vampire-twink picture New Moon (although bulging with muscle, he’s 17 years old). I don’t like this pose, but a friend adores it, and our debate reignited an old argument I’ve had the misfortune to be drawn into over my 147 years (roughly) in publishing. In my opinion, the coy glancing-over-the-shoulder pose, seen here, is a feminine one. It’s a come-hither pose we’ve all seen thousands of times. I fought regularly with photographers (and higher-ups) over positioning male models in feminine poses such as this one. It doesn’t emphasize masculinity, but softness and a coy sensuality. That kind of softness may very well have been what the New Moon photographer wanted to emphasize here, but he or she couldn’t do it without relying on a feminine pose. Men typically don’t present themselves this way; even over-the-top, flamingly flame-y gay men don’t come by it naturally. But I regularly found that photographers and art directors didn’t understand how to emphasize the masculinity of my male models and instead aped the same six or seven ladyposes they’ve seen in countless fashion and celebrity magazine spreads. And I see it all the time in the mainstream media, as well. Here we have another example. I thought I’d post about it and pick the brains of our Constant Readers. Thoughts?
