Bijou Video Restores Erotica Classic ‘In Heat’

Production and distribution house Bijou Video has restored the 1986 all-male erotica classic IN HEAT and introduced it on DVD for the first time to the wholesale-retail market. The original Hand in Hand Films production was a collection of five short subjects helmed by a group of legendary directors: “Before Time” and “8 A.M.” by Jack Deveau; “3 P.M.” by Peter de Rome; and “Midnight” by Bob Alvarez. The fifth film — “Noon” — stars Bobby Madison, Brian Michaels and JD Slater and reflects its mid-’80s milieu. “Amid mats and mirrors, an aerobics class takes a fuck break in which Michaels is insatiable and the mirrors ingeniously heighten the thrills,” a Bijou rep said. AIDS Healthcare Announces Cal-OSHA Complaint

Representatives of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) held a press conference today to announce the organization’s plans to file a Cal/OSHA complaint against 16 adult production companies for not using condoms — or other protection against bodily fluid exchange — in productions. AHF President Michael Weinstein told XBIZ that the actual delivery of the 17-page complaint had not been scheduled: “It’s just a formality.” AHF counsel Brian Chase told attendees at the press conference, “In any other context, being paid for sex is a crime. The California Supreme Court is the only state supreme court that has held that in the context of making adult films, paying someone for sex is not a crime. The California state government gives an extraordinary level of protection to the producers of adult films. What we’re asking is that the California state government take similar steps to protect performers in adult films.” AHF President Michael Weinstein [said] that the responsibility for the work environment was with the employer, and Cal/OSHA is the regulating body for workplaces. “We’re asking them to do their job. We also put a special burden on people who make a profit from an activity. UrgeCash Launches Latin Paysite, Affiliate Program

AHF to File Complaints Against 16 Adult Studios

[Edits 3:15 p.m.] The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) intends to file formal complaints against 16 adult entertainment companies tomorrow with the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal-OSHA) in order to push for mandatory condom legislation. In order to support its workplace safety complaints AHF cites 58 adult films — 56 of which don’t feature condom use — from 16 local production companies. The production companies to be named in the complaints are Anarchy Films, Backend Productions, gay adult Blue Pictures, Critical X, Hustler Video (an unnamed DVD title from LFP-distributed X-Play is cited), Heatwave Entertainment, Immoral Productions, Latin Media, Legend, Mayhem, Maverick Entertainment, Raw Flesh, Sin City, gay adult Top Dog/Magnus Productions, Vivid Entertainment and Club Jenna. AHF joined forces with former porn performer Shelly Lubben’s Pink Cross Foundation to hold a press conference today at the Universal Sheraton in Universal City to detail the complaints it plans to deliver in person after the presser. Bo Dixon Shoots Beefcake Calendar

Our posting back on July 3 about bodybuilder Bo Dixon‘s misgivings (to say the least) about his two-film porn career is among the most popular — and controversial — stories published on GPTimes all year. This week it zoomed back up the rankings thanks to a plug this past Monday from my colleagues at Fleshbot (cheers, guys). Amateur Adult Site Offers 25K to Levi Johnston

Burgeoning celebrity Levi Johnston has received an offer from an all-male adult company — his second in a week — to pose nude and perform in a solo masturbation vignette for the web. Bait & Tackle LLC, the parent company of amateur all-male website StraightCollegeMen.com has offered to pay Johnston $25,000 to perform a solo masturbation scene. The offer was tendered in an open letter published on the microsite LeviNaked.com and signed by Bait & Tackle Owner Justin Clouse. “Given your well-known heterosexuality, you likely don’t know StraightCollegeMen.com and its hundreds of naked straight men, but we’ve been around for eight years,” the letter reads in part. Clouse touts 18 billboards around Las Vegas offering $500 to prospective male performers. “We’re prepared to offer you 50 times the regular amount for a couple hours of your time,” he said. The site will also cover first-class airfare, accommodations and a limousine should Johnston accept the offer. It is the second offer from an all-male adult company Johnston has fielded in a week. Japan Gets HD Porn Downloads Via Sony PS3

A Japanese company has developed technology that allows its users to stream high-definition porn via Sony’s PlayStation3 gaming console. According to reports, the service will be available only in Japan. DMM.tv is utilizing BD Live technology to stream adult content to the PS3. Before downloading content, users log in to the DMM.tv Blu-ray website to select the titles which are then remotely accessible on the PS3. All a user needs is a broadband connection, an HDMI cable and a PS3 to access the technology. Anime makes up most of the company’s catalog, but there are select Japanese porn titles available, including YUMA ASAMI AND THE 100 MASTURBATORS. Adult content is searchable by keywords, actress or genre like most U.S. video-on-demand services. Each title is available “VOD style” with the user paying for each title they download.
