Quotable: Unraveling the Social Fabric

Quotable: “Kinky sex is so popular now… there is this openness about sexual subjects that we’ve never had before — at the same time they’re being condemned. Something like the Meese Commission Report is the perfect example: I masturbated to that report until I just about passed out — it’s the filthiest thing around! And they know it! They made bondage a household word; everybody knows what bondage is now because of the Meese Commission — you read all about it in the papers. The right wing’s tactic is to titillate — show you the thing they want you to get mad about — thus triggering your shame and guilt feelings but discouraging deeper, contextual analysis… While on the one hand we’re having attempts at censorship that are ugly and hard to believe, at the same time the list of topics that one cannot discuss seems to be getting smaller… The right wing mindset thinks: if you put a certain image or thought out there, everyone’s going to take it one way; that somehow everyone’s going to have a single, identical reaction. And that accusation gets put to ‘pornographers’ all the time. If you show a picture of two people fucking — then ohmigod, the whole social fabric’s going to unravel, and people are going to do hideous things to each other! I really hate that kind of belittling of basic intelligence.”

François Sagat on being famous: “I can’t say that I don’t like it but I think it’s too much. Too much for what it is. I understand if someone is a fan of Tina Turner or Cher. But being a fan of a porn star? I can understand the sexual obsession of someone because it’s a desire but being a fan of all the movies you have done, remembering which movies you did when and with whom, and what kind of beard I had in this particular film, that I don’t understand. But an obsession of the new Beyonce video and the choreography, the outfits, that is another story. That I do understand completely.”
On subverting his masculine image in his work with avante-garde photographers: “Oh yes, and in that way I feel very secure. I don’t think playing with your femininity as a man is something feminine. I am not a model for masculinity, because I do have many feminine sides. I know some guys in this industry who are trying to push masculinity to the extreme, and it doesn’t work.”

Quotable: “I collect Jeff Stryker memorabilia. I have the first product that he ever put out on the market. I have the Jeff Stryker Dildo, which I purchased even though, frankly, I don’t have the square footage. But I’m not a quitter! I had to rearrange some shit. I mean, I had to use bungee cords and stuff… The interesting feature of the Jeff Stryker Dildo is that it has a suction cup at the base so that you can attach it to any leak-free surface… if you want to, y’know, put it in your car or something. But I found that it really gained purchase on the refrigerator door. The problem with that is that the door would keep opening and closing… So the light would go on and off, on and off — not good if you’re an epileptic.”

Quotable: “I got clean and sober over 15 months ago, and it’s been the greatest gift I have ever given myself. I work a 12 Step program, have a sponsor, go to meetings and sponsor two people myself. It has saved my life and given me a quality to my life that I never had before. I treat people better, and I know how to set healthy boundaries in all areas of my life. I can’t say enough about how much the Twelve Steps have worked for me. I don’t push them on anyone else (though there are a lot of men in the industry that are suffering through addiction). I live my life, and I hope that people will see that if a hopeless dope fiend like me can find hope and get his life back in order… so can they. The industry can be fragmenting and there is, like in every entertainment facet, a lot of drug and alcohol abuse. Hopefully that will change.”

Quotable: “I wanted it to be sexual because rock and roll is about sexuality. And I felt that by being blunt, it would disarm people. People were trying to assimilate at that time. It was the time of AIDS, and people felt, we can’t misbehave because we want straight people to support us over this important issue. And I said, I see your point but I disagree. I think we should be as bold and as out and upfront as possible, and that people will respect us for that. To not be cowed, to not be cautious, about what people might think. Because if you’re always worried about what people might think it’s going to inhibit you, and I wanted to have honest expression. And I thought, I can do this. It’s my sense of humor, and using that, I can get this message across.”

Barfly #1: Remember that guy I told you I fucked, the porn star?
Barfly #2: Yeah, I guess.
Barfly #1: He just won a GAYVN Award.
Barfly #2: A what?
Barfly #1: A GAYV — a porn Oscar.
Barfly #2: They have porn Oscars?!
Barfly #1: Yeah.
Barfly #2: That’s crazy. What’s the guy’s name?
Barfly #1: I don’t know, it was before he was famous.
Barfly #2: What’s his porn name?
Barfly #1: I don’t remember.
Barfly #2: Clearly the sex was awful.
Barfly #1: No, it was great.
Barfly #2: Did you hook up after that?
Barfly #1: No, he smoked too much.
Barfly #2: But the sex was good.
Barfly #1: It was fucking great. We went at it all fuckin’ night.
Barfly #2: But you didn’t get his name.
Barfly #1: No.
Barfly #2: Slut!
Barfly #1: No, baby, this is how it works: You meet a guy, you fuck, then afterwards, if you like each other, you go on a date. That way, afterwards —
Barfly #2: — in the harsh light of day —
Barfly #1: — right, if it turns out you actually hate each other, at least you got something out of it. It’s very Old School Queer.
Barfly #2: I’m gonna do that from now on.
Barfly #1: Really, it’s just good manners.

Sneak Peek: ’5 Americans in Prague’
December 30, 2009 | 1 Comment

New Release Desk: Earlier this year, Bel Ami and CorbinFisher announced a wide-ranging distribution, marketing and content collaboration that included sending a quintet of the web studio’s most popular young hunks over to the Czech Republic to rut with a select group of the Euro-studio’s best and brightest. Six of those episodes have been teased and/or released online and have now been compiled for the forthcoming sexpic 5 AMERICANS IN PRAGUE. Look for it to hit retail shelves next week. As our Constant Readers with long memories will recall, the title is a play on one of Bel Ami’s most storied and popular films — 1997′s AN AMERICAN IN PRAGUE with the one-and-only Chance, whose romantic onscreen sexploits with Johan Paulik are now legendary. This update pairs CorbinFisher’s Josh, Elijah, Zeke, Connor and Dawson with Bel Ami’s Luke Hamill, Ariel Vanean, Brandon Manilow and Manuel Rios (for a threesome), Jean-Daniel Chagall and Dolph Lambert, respectively. Messrs. Connor and Josh return for a fourgy with Mr. Manilow and Sascha Chaykin. I got a sneak peek at the sexcapades and some of the best sex includes the tall, broad-shouldered Dolph Lambert bottoming for hotbod Dawson in a sensual episode and eager-beaver Luke Hamill confidently leading the shy, low-key Josh into sexual ecstasy.

Unzipped Names ‘Unzippy Award’ Winners
December 30, 2009 | 4 Comments
Press Release Roundup: For the past couple of days the scalawags at Unzipped.net have been naming their Unzippy Award winners. My favorite of the batch (so far) is Wolf Hudson as “Most Valuable Player” for his varied sexploits this year (CLICK HERE for the write-up). Other recipients include fashionable hottie Jason Pitt for “Best Hair” (Brent Corrigan was the runner-up) and Cameron Marshall as “Best Porn Star Vampire” (followed by Tommy Defendi, Diesel Washington and Chase Harding). There are several other categories — Rob Romoni rightfully took “Best Twitterer” — but just as we were preparing this entry, Unzipped announced their “Best Blogs” list and Gay Porn Times was nowhere to be found. Sigh… This follows Cybersocket naming just two adult blogs of note for 2009, which happen to be the two (very fine) sites that won best adult blog at the Cybersocket Web Awards the past two years. We are pleased with our third consecutive nomination in that category — and CLICK HERE for the nice profile on me the mag ran earlier in the year — but I’m starting to wonder if we ran over someone’s cat without realizing it. Eh, maybe I’m just feeling extra cranky today.

Planet Porn: Brent Everett’s Tropical Xmas
December 30, 2009 | 6 Comments
Planet Porn: Hotbod Brent Everett sent out this Christmas Day photo from the Cayman Islands, where he spent the holidays with his family and husband Steve Peña. All together now — awwwww…. We’re thisclose to cuteness overload. The tireless young entrepreneur will headline a BoiParty.com New Year’s Eve bash tomorrow at Club Rush with DJ John Marto in New York (579 6th Avenue between 16th and 17th Streets). He regularly whips out that sizable cock and wanks it online for his website members, but man-oh-man, when is the sexy buck gonna start making movies again?

Peters Twins Episode Pulls Heavy Traffic
December 30, 2009 | 5 Comments
You might recall we’ve written a bit this year about Bel Ami exclusives Milo Peters and Elijah Peters, a pair of 19-year-old identical twin bodybuilders whose condomless episode together finally debuted last week on PetersTwins.com, a newly established adjunct site of BelAmiOnline.com — available only to website members — that was set up to accommodate those with (as a studio rep notes) “strong opinions” about the idea of hardcore brotherly love. But it’s also serving the dual purpose of handling a massive load of web traffic from around the world. And I’ve had emails from media outlets mulling stories on the pair. They want to write about something that will surely generate traffic and blog comments, but on the other hand… If you haven’t checked out the episode yet, why don’t you start with some photos and my interview (ahem…) with the siblings at iBelAmiNews.com and a minutelong teaser at the flagship Bel Ami site? Last night, our Constant Readers had some fun Twittering about “twincest” and siblings in porn. One of them declared the Peters Twins and Visconti Triplets are merely one person multiplied with in-camera editing and other tricks. Dang, they figured it out.
