RandyBlue Stud Spins Onto Reality TV

We’ve been getting emails over the past day or so about a handsome ex-porn hunk named Kekoa Nalu who briefly appears in the promo trailer for ABC’s Conveyor Belt of Love, a forthcoming reality-dating TV special (don’t get me started). He was swiftly identified by eagle-eyed erotica fans as a former RandyBlue performer “Jarrett Rex” who macked on Reese Rideout, among other things, and Men magazine cover hunk. I think Unzipped.net was first with the news and has more of his Men mag layout (a commenter notes Mr. Nalu also appeared on an episode of MTV‘s Parental Control as “a douchebag boyfriend”). Once upon a time I would rush to blog about a reality-teevee contestant with a nude or XXX past, but it happens so frequently these days that it just isn’t really news. CLICK HERE for more scoop…
A sex tape in today’s pop-culture climate can only make you more famous. In fact, Gawker posted about Mr. Nalu and their own crossover ennui (“How Reality TV Took the Shame Out of Pornography“).
“This has become so commonplace it’s boring. Now these genres go hand in hand,” they blogged. “Maybe it’s the mainstreaming of porn culture or the fact that plenty of our reality show stars have had sex tapes (think Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian), but now people are free to go from one genre to the other without impunity.”
In fact, as we’ve blogged, straight-adult porn actor Jean Val Jean is a contestant on Bravo’s Chef Academy right now. And in 2008 we had a bumper crop of former porn performers or nude models turning up on reality shows across the dial. See the links below for background.
