Corbin-Fisher-LambertXBIZ: Gay adult web studio CorbinFisher has asked the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to reject a complaint by the Liberty Counsel over singer Adam Lambert‘s performance during the American Music Awards. The Liberty Counsel, a 501 (c)(3) organization that advocates the traditional family life and advancing religious freedom, asked federal regulators to fine ABC for “airing such an outrageously lewd and filthy performance during a show and time period that is targeted for family audiences.” Last month, Lambert performed at the American Music Awards, kissing a male keyboardist, grinding a male dancer’s head against his pelvis, and grabbing the crotch of a female dancer. In a letter to the FCC, Corbin Fisher concluded that Lambert’s performance was not obscene. The San Diego-based studio also chastised Liberty Counsel, calling it “a homophobic organization dedicated to the imposition of Christian-based theocracy in the U.S., and the replacement of the rule of law with rule by superstition.” CorbinFisher execs on Monday said they wanted to throw its weight behind Lambert and the 1st Amendment by petitioning the FCC in favor of Lambert’s performance. “We read the complaint filed by the Liberty Counsel, a notorious homophobic organization, and we were appalled,” said Brian Dunlap, COO of Corbin Fisher. “We had our general counsel review the legal claims made by this hate group and it was his conclusion that their legal position was preposterous. Gay Americans have had to stand by as small, but organized, groups of bigots assail us with a constant din of hate speech. It is time that those of us who are victimized by groups like the Liberty Counsel start to show our government that they aren’t the only ones with a point of view.” [CLICK HERE for the full story at XBIZ.]

This has nothing to do with the gay porn industry at all.

Hmmm, I’m not so sure that the support of a gay porn company is exactly what ABC is looking for right now. But it’s the thought that counts.

    Thank you for posting this.

Although I wonder how effective their legal briefings will be and how it will look if on the one hand, religious bigots are asking for action and gay porn studios are responding.

It would be great if someone like Larry Flynt riffed on the famous Potter Stewart quotation and said, “I know pornography when I see it, and this wasn’t it. All members of the Liberty Counsel will receive free trial subscriptions of Hustler to educate themselves on the differences between Lambert’s artistic and provocative performance and dirty, nasty, naughty offensive smut that should be kept off our network television channels and put where it belongs — in Dad’s sock drawer where children will never see it.”

@Yawn: If a gay porn company taking a stand against religious zealots isn’t news in the industry, what is? (Or should JC only cover Chi Chi’s latest spinning gig?)

So writing a letter is news now?
