Randy-Blue-Malachi-Marx-chestjason-adonis-jetsetSo this week I’ve run a few stories about Malachi Marx and Jason Adonis (scroll down or click the links below). Mr. Marx is a Randy Blue exclusive who quit porn several months ago with an ostentatious flourish, and then resurfaced this week on Rentboy; Mr. Adonis is the blue-eyed bodybuilder who has quit porn several times and is back again, having worked out his personal issues. In any case, they are tremendously popular performers or I wouldn’t write about them. But there is also a vocal contingent of porn consumers who complain, loudly and often, whenever I write about these gay-for-pay, or gay-adjacent, performers. (About two-thirds of our mail at GPTimes comes in directly.) This is a rather recent development; there have always been consumers who disapproved of G4P but the caterwauling has taken a distinct turn over the past year or so. And yet G4P is absolutely everywhere in all-male adult. There is a disconnect somewhere and I’m not sure where it originates. Please chime in and share your thoughts, or CLICK HERE and join the debate on Twitter.

I wouldn’t say I’m angry, I’d more call it fed up with the likes of Marx and others who are more than willing to exploit gay men for income and adoration but then disrespect them — us — simply for thinking they’re hot. When Marx announced his “retirement” it wasn’t so much a “it’s been fun, so long” as it was a “fuck you, you fags disgust me.” The fantasy collapsed, and a tone of derision and contempt took its place.

A tell-all book… Really? What exactly would this genius have to say that we haven’t heard a thousand times before? What makes Marx think he has something to offer that is so much better than any of the thousands of other gay guys working in all-male porn can’t and don’t do better?

Well, we do. It’s time for fans to stop rewarding this type of conduct, and it’s time for producers to stop enabling this bi-polar behavior. Not all of the G4P models act like this, but those who do should be discarded with the same alacrity they display. There are hundred of thousands of rediculously hot gay men out there — just take a look at all of the amateur porn on xtube and elsewhere — who are ready, willing and able to fuck in front of a camera.

couldn’t agree more, often if not always their performances lack chemistry, involvement and are totally boring

No more so-called “straight guys”! There not!

I have found that five bucks and a six pack works for my Day Laborer fetish just fine. And its even in 360d! But then I do have fairly low standards.

I had this whole spiel of what I was going to say but then I read Jamie’s comments. I totally agree and could not have said it better.

  6. JC Adams on January 14, 2010 4:15 pm

All — Thanks for chiming in about this. I agree with one of Jamie’s points (don’t let me put words in your mouth, so to speak): I don’t have a problem with straight guys doing all-male porn, as long as they can perform.

It seems that the mania on the production side has led to casting great-looking straight guys, and marketing them as such, even though they aren’t fully engaged performers.

That’s the next question, I guess: Does it really matter if the performer is gay as long as he enacts a fantasy that rings your bell?

    Regards,
    JCA

An issue I have is that distributors use it as a marketing tool. I can come up with no explanation for the phenom amongst gay men other than internalized homophobia, self loathing. How it’s marketed perpetuates marginalization, and that has a lot to do with the those who produce it, and those who consume it. I couldn’t give a two fucks about how “performers” identify outside of the job. Another issue is that they’re just lousy “performers”…it’s not fun to watch someone who noticeably would rather be anywhere else than having it on with a guy. No chemistry=bad porn. And most of these guys can’t fake it until they make it, as it were.

I don’t want to attack gay men who prefer straight men, because they have no control over what turns them on. But it’s sad, in a way. Then I remind myself that it’s just porno and fantasy, and I don’t care anymore…

  8. Ronald on January 14, 2010 5:33 pm

Gay actors yes, bisexual or straight actors yes IF they can deliver hot exciting performances, rarely if ever have i seen one.
But I don’t mind if they could deliver, some gay porn stars are pretty boring too.
Deliver? Chemistry, dedication, fire, hotness, suck dick, take it up the ass and at least pretend they enjoy it and…the touchstone of everything: KISSING -the real way- a MAN!!!!!!!!

  9. Zach on January 14, 2010 11:46 pm

I don’t care if they’re straight,bi or gay. What I hate about so many gay4pays like Marx.. not only do their words show a disdain for gays.. but so do their actions on screen. There is virtually no passion and any expressions they do make look like they’d rather be anything than having sex with a guy on screen. Nor do they often anything other than fuck… their scene partner does all the work. Tony Cappucci is another one I can’t stand.

  10. Marcelo on January 15, 2010 3:48 am

up until now i have seen no gay4pay actor of any merit. They’re bores, it shows they’re doing a job they don’t like, there are so many stupendous gay actors who for some reason don’t get jobs anymore : jherrard lopez, alexy tyler, tyler johnson, jonathan vargas, tamar esterhazy, pistol pete…..What are these porn producers thinking? It’s the main reason why i don’t subscribe to randy blue though he does have some fine models and a few hot scenes judging from the trailers.

  11. iain on January 15, 2010 5:02 am

For myself, when I watch porn I try to suspend my disbelief and fantasise that what I am watching is hot guys WANTING to have sex with each other. Knowing that some of the actors would NEVER touch another man without money on the table shatters the illusion.

  12. chrissypoo on January 15, 2010 9:41 am

What is really funny is that I’ve hooked with a few of the G4P guys. They weren’t seeking out gay sex, but it just happened.

  13. Dave on January 15, 2010 11:52 am

Sorry there is just too much Caveat Emptor “buyer beware”, in bringing back Jason Adonis for a 3rd or 4th revival. What is the point in seeing him repeat his normal boring toping stuff, when so much is already permanantly floating around the web. We all already have that old T shirt.

The only way this latest return can be of interest and work, is if Jason Adonis does soemthing different and works at it. His two high profile bottoming scenes todate were embarasingly poor, with the Farmers Son dvd scene leading to many accusations of a stunt double being used and the Mr Pam poorly directed scene of Jason Adonis bottoming being just plain embarrassing.

Jason Adonis on his own site whilst it operated, seeemd to love shoving various glass dildo’s up his butt with no problems and I hear he has also been a fully versatile Escort. Thus I’m sure that with the right Director he can easily do some future hot bottoming scenes that may justify and well reward him for his return.

However, if he just does the same old boring stuff and plays up and be unreliable as usual, this return like the others will fail and then we face the sad prospect of Jason Adonis in another couple of years attempting yet another “return” that will be more embarassing and of very little interest to anyone.

  14. Chris L. on January 15, 2010 2:06 pm

I have not seen either Marx or Adonis in question because their comments turned me off. You chose two g4pers who’ve gone out of their way to show/tell how much they dislike gay sex. Why would any self-respecting gay man be turned on by that kind of person? Yes, porn is a fantasy, but if your fantasy is watching straight guys have gay sex when they hate it, what does that say about you? What does it say if that’s your only fantasy? I understand the straight boy fantasy, but the straight boy has to like the gay sex at some point in the fantasy. The whole thing reeks of self loathing to me.

Why should capable, sexy, attractive gay models be turned away from gay porn so that straight guys can take their jobs? The reverse question is always asked, but not this one. Is anyone telling me that there are no gay men who could do a better job than Tony Capucci and Nash Lawler for instance? Watch ROUGHING IT and tell me g4p is not ruining the industry.

What does it say about the industry that caters to gay men that they preference the straight performers over actual gay men? When Marco Blaze won a recent award, people were shocked that an actual gay gay porn star won an award. That’s how bad this nonsense has gotten.

  15. Zach on January 15, 2010 2:56 pm

Chris L.. agree 100% with about Roughing it. One of the worst movies I’ve seen in a long time. They clearly weren’t into the scene and were only thinking of $$$.

  16. Bill on January 15, 2010 4:43 pm

Chris: bingo as Marcelo gave some good examples of pornstars without a job and whoa re as good-looking (or even better) than the straight guys. As far as I know Michael Lucas sticks to a gay-only policy, randy blue doesn’t, even staghomme have this obsession with boring straight tops

  17. TJ on January 15, 2010 7:34 pm

Will you guys please post a list of these “boring” straight guys who fuck each other in the ass? This I’ve got to see.

Adonis is forunate with his body, but from his neck up he is a complete dumb ass and his prior actions/inactions prove that. Time to move on.

  22. Mike on January 16, 2010 11:46 am

These G4P porn performers are nice to look at. I admit it. But as it has been said in several of the above posts, they just lack the real enthusiasm in performing as compared to most all of the true Gay performers. I have noticed this over the last few years with the heavy increase in the G4P performers that are being promoted. What ire really detest though is the total lack of caring attitudes expressed by some of these performers about the Gay community. They are obviously in it strictly for the pay with a real F U attitude to anybody that shows a modicum of interest in the performer themselves. If you are going to act like you care about us, then do so in real life. Remember that without your fan base, you wouldn’t have the means of supporting yourselves. Come down off of that self built pedistal and become a real star.

  23. Drew on January 16, 2010 12:26 pm

I’m a gay man with a HUGE straight guy fantasy. I only pick up married men and fuck them. Nine times out of ten they are so into it and THAT is what gets me off. I can tell by the way they look directly into my eyes as I’m fucking them, and their expressions as I slowly drive deep inside them.

When I watch porn I steer away from the straight and G4P guys because it’s so obvious that they are NOT into it. Therefore, even with my straight guy fantasy, when watching porn I seek out gay guys having sex and just pretend that one of them is straight. It works for me because the gay guys are almost always into each other.

I have yet to find one straight guy in gay porn that has convinced me that he is into his scene partner. The fact that they’re now vocalizing their disdain about performing in gay videos is atrocious. After a straight guy pulls a stunt like that, any gay producer with any self-respect would yank those guys from their sites and circulation. Yes, I’m talking to you Randy Blue, Chi Chi, Falcon, Jet Set, et al!

Gay for pay is over. In case you missed that…GAY FOR PAY IS OVER! Straight guys “performing” (if you can call it that) for money in gay-themed videos is so passe.

Gay studios are so out of touch with what the consumer wants, and yet they keep cranking out the G4P themes, all the while bitching about how their sales have declined.

Get a fucking clue studios! After more than a decade it’s obvious the straight guys cannot provide the fantasy that the consumer is looking for.

Studios, if you want your sales and memberships to increase you need to produce gay videos performed by gay men who enjoy having gay sex with each other. It’s not that difficult to figure out.

  24. Josh Griffin on January 16, 2010 12:57 pm

As a model/Industry Performer I have found some difficulty working with straight guys because it is difficult for them to convey the fantasy in the movie not only to the viewer but also to their scene partner. It sometimes kills MY energy to look over and see straight porn playing while trying to be involved in a scene. It has also taken longer to finish scenes due to performers needing time to ‘work themselves up’ prior to wrapping a scene. I’m not saying this is always the case with the straight ones. Gay performers also have off days and also chemistry issues, but I think for us its easier to work through and convey an image easier than some straight guys that have the look of awkwardness, being uncomfortable, or even fear in their eyes. With that being said, there are also those that maintain the mantel of ‘G4P’ when CLEARLY their closet doors are on fire… to them I just say man up, its ok, be who you are, but don’t put up a facade when we all clearly know you’re using a title to attempt to increase your popularity.

  25. Chris L. on January 16, 2010 2:17 pm

I wish more performers like the insightful and charismatic Josh Griffin would speak up on the issue. As viewers, we’re not on the set. We don’t know what goes on. We can only judge what’s on the screen, and comments made by the performers, directors, and the studios. Those are not always reliable for various reasons.

If Michael Lucas can manage to hire mostly gay men, why can’t all the other studios? Are these studios telling me that there are no gay performers who can do the scenes just as well if not better than performers who are obviously g4p? That’s absurd.

There is another issue that gets swept to the side with this g4p issue. G4pers or “sexualists” are often doing straight porn where they don’t use condoms. If a gay performer continued to bareback while under contract with Channel 1 or other companies, he would be fired immediately. Why is this allowed to continue? I hasten to bring this up because I adore one performer who does this, but I think it does go with the double standard involving “straight” men.

Why would you continue to hire performers who demean the gay viewers, repeatedly discuss how they dislike gay sex, and talk up how straight they are? Straight porn is where straight guys should be despite the low pay. Let gay men have the one arena where it should be about and for them.

  26. Stefan Thorens on January 16, 2010 3:23 pm

I could care less about G4P guys in gay porn. I’ve just about quit buying it. It’s soooo boring. If I want to fantasize about str8 guys, I’ll buy str8 porn. Some of the guys are fantastic. And some of them even appreciate their gay fans. One of my favorites, with whom I’ve exchanged several emails, thinks its cool that he has gay fans. (Admittedly, some str8 male porn actors are homophobic, but quite a few aren’t.) He even sent me a list of str8 male porn stars whose work I might like along with a list of what he considers to be his own best work. And I should spend 3 times the money for videos with assholes like Adonis and Marx? Not on your life!

  27. DeWayne on January 16, 2010 5:18 pm

I noticed this debate breaking on Twitter (where fans, pornstars and bloggers mix and Tweet)

I have been criticized for some of my Randy Blue posts and yet I am very selective my criteria for good gay porn is chemistry, intensity and hot men (in that order)

If more porn producers would pay attention to this fans would not be so upset.

I rarely encounter complaints about gay4pay models who show intensity and chemistry.

Jeremy Bilding and Wolf Hudson are good examples, I have watched both men in action with men and women they are consummate sexsualist’s! They ENJOY sex!

I think we all know who we do DISLIKE the boring gymbots with the stoic face who dare not show a glimmer of sexual interest, who are watching straight porn to get hard.

    The label is not important.

What we all need to do is keep the card in the wallet anytime we see fake, plastic soap stars in our gay porn.

The ONLY message a Porn Producer notices

    Is what sells

If you dont like it dont buy it, just remember a lot of gay men do not share your views.

How else would you explain the career of the Worst Plastic Porn Star in the History of Gay Porn.

    Jeff Stryker!

  28. Antonio Biaggi on January 16, 2010 8:00 pm

I agree I hate to work with ” straight ” models , but once you fuck a men you are not hetero anymore you become bi .
yes They are difficult to work and problematic

  29. Zach on January 17, 2010 2:04 am

Dewayne.. Jeremy Bilding is different in that whether the person he is having sex with is male or female.. he’s into it.. wants them to have a good time and wants us the viewers to have a good time as well.
I HATE Cody Cummings, Jason Adoanis, Malachi Marx, tony Cappucci etc who have made it clear through their twitters, blog postings, interviews etc how straight they are and how they are only in it for the money and how disguisting it really it is to have sex with guys in any shape or form.
That kills any energy they bring to a scene they’re in. And how on earth anyone can find gay4payers who make it clear how much they hate gay sex erotic or hot is beyond me.

  30. Danny on January 17, 2010 6:10 am

there’s a lot of hype surrounding wolf hudson but his performances are pretty boring too and by the way i’m not so excited about jeremy bilding either…nope in general it’s a big NO NO to gay4pay lunacy

  31. tom on January 17, 2010 8:01 am

Malachi Marx does nothing for me — whether he’s gay or str8.

  32. LMAO on January 17, 2010 10:55 am

I appreciate most of the comments here that want to see gay or at least bi guys in their gay porn. No one wants to waste money on a fuck flick that sucks. I think there is a huge disconnect, and here’s what I think is the real issue:

The studios and producers are not going to put out anything they think we wont buy. This ‘debate’ has been going on since the beginning. If we were this ‘fired up’ sales would drop and G4P models would be out on their ‘tight’ asses.

But the reality this is a business. Producers want to give you YOUR fantasy men only because it sells. There are more G4P men than ever. Look at sites like Bait Bus… Men magazine man of the year for 3 years in a row- G4P! Didn’t we vote?

Seems to me we are getting EXACTLY what we are attracted to- what we sink our money into.

As usual- I think most comments here reflect an opinion of a small minority. Maybe not even consumers… otherwise there wouldn’t be a G4P debate.

  33. Michael on January 17, 2010 11:52 am

Let’s get real here. Some men like G4P because they think all gay porn stars must be bisexual or gay for having gay sex. They don’t buy the G4P label. I had sex with a woman. I somewhat enjoyed it. Doesn’t make me straight. Doesn’t make me bisexual. It makes me a man with nerve endings.

Jeremy Bilding clearly stated he was straight. When g4p became an issue, he became a sexualist. What’s a sexualist?? A g4p performer who actually does his job and might enjoy it. Bully for him! That doesn’t make him any less straight. He’s listed as bisexual now on C1′s site. If he weren’t so straight, he wouldn’t feel the need to continue to do straight porn where he doesn’t use a condom!!!!!!! What actual gay or bisexual would risk disease (those tests are not foolproof; brief window where there is a risk of infection; and those tests have been known to give false negatives) just to continue doing straight scenes? His explanations are so weak and insulting to the gay fans.

He hides the fact he does straight scenes. He uses a different name: ryan driller. He thinks gay fans are too stupid to know this. He even has a twitter account under Ryan Driller to disguise the fact! On his Driller twitter account, he has the nerve to tell people to wrap it up!!! The hypocrisy is astounding.

It’s this klnd of stuff that angers people. Stop treating gay fans like second class citizens. You want to make money off us, but you also want to treat us like dirt. I say let Bilding and Wolf Hudson go do straight porn permanently. See how much they like the paycheck and the lack of interest.

  34. Zach on January 17, 2010 12:59 pm

I didn’t know about Jeremy’s other porn career… Amazing he still has one in the straight porn world as most women will refuse to work with someone who does any kind of gay porn work. And to do it bareback?! Chalk up another performer I’ve lost respect for. Wolf Hudson has never done anything for me and his comments about gays have only made my position stronger on that.
And LMAO, speak for yourself. I refuse to spend money on sites like Bait Bus, Barett Long’s XXX etc. I truly believe some of these sites still run because we have that fantasy we can “seduce” a straight guy. Which is a boatload of crap.

  35. Michael on January 17, 2010 2:18 pm

You should see what Bilding does in his straight films. He does much more than he’s ever done in his gay films. If you can stomach it, look at his straight film work. You’ll be even more appalled by the way he’s exploited his gay fans. He works for lesser companies because no real legitimate straight porn company or porn actress would have him. Why would any gay actors work with him in gay porn scenes? Have they not read the articles about the major rise of STDs and HIV cases in straight porn even with the so-called stringent testing?

From the L.A. Times in July 2009:
““The latest HIV case in the porn industry became public last week when officials from the San Fernando Valley-based Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation said a female porn performer had tested positive. The acknowledgment came as rumors about a new HIV infection spread on porn websites.”

Some of the performers who take these stringent tests engage in unprotected sex between testing and their scenes. This is what Jeremy Bilding is supporting because he’s a straight man who doesn’t want to give up straight porn. If that’s the way he feels, let him stay in straightsville and put himself and others at risk.

Why has no one questioned Chi-Chi Larue about this hypocrisy? She made Bilding use condoms on cocksure, but she allows him to bareback in his straight scenes? The Wrap it Up lady is a major hypocrite and homophobic.

As for Wolf Hudson, go to Jason Curious’s interview with him. He spells out his dislike for gay sex and his contempt for the gay fans:
    http://tinyurl.com/yz7q3cb

Why do gay men support these people? They’re just as bad as the worst anti-gay politicans. Gay men have some pride! Don’t give your money to studios and performers that support this behavior!!

  36. Chris L. on January 17, 2010 3:37 pm

Jeremy Bilding has spoken honestly and directly about all of these issues. You get what you see with him. I’ve spoken about how I prefer gay porn to have gay performers, but I will stand up for Bilding any day. Sexy scenes, writes a great blog, interacts with his fans on twitter, upfront about both porn worlds, etc. Why should he be attacked? He has said nothing about done nothing to gay men to elicit such hatred.

Wolf Hudson’s name gets brought up in these g4p discussions. I own Pounding the Pavement so I watched his scene. It was a hot scene.

I prefer gay porn stars to be strictly gay, but if all performers were like Hudson and Bilding, would there be an issue? Not for me.

  37. Casey on January 17, 2010 4:19 pm

What I really don’t get is why these people who proclaim themselves as “sexualist” just say they are bisexual? If you were really “sexualist” and love sex then wouldn’t you also like to have sex with animals and objects? Or are the people like Hudson and Bilding just too afraid to admit their bisexuality? As for gay-for-pay, the people who continue to fuel the fire are the gay porn producers. Producers and directors like, Chi Chi LaRue and the people who work for RandyBlue, SeanCody, etc. know that gay people will continue to fork over money to see these guys jack off or have sex. They also refuse to label these guys are bisexual. It’s more than obvious how these performers and producers take advantage of the gay community and not only that, they ruin the image of the gay community because they continue to use stereotype performers who are narcissistic, sex addicted, and drug abusers. I really think that the gay and straight porn industries need to be shut down by the government through taxation to make the industry seem less attractive.

  38. JC Adams on January 17, 2010 6:04 pm

Casey, I just Tweeted about your question about the term “bisexual” and wonder if it’s just fallen out of favor or seen as code for “gay” by the culture at large.

Otherwise, let’s not paint too broadly with the “narcissistic, sex-addicted and drug abuser” brush. The gay porn industry has no more ruined the image or reputation of gay people in general any more than the straight porn biz has for straight people at large. Do you honestly believe if there was no gay porn whatsoever that all of sudden straights would love us gays?

    Regards,
    JCA

  40. Allicide on January 17, 2010 8:15 pm

I have to add that in this G4P debate that I am sick of gay porn blogs pushing Cody Cummings. They feature his updates every week even the straight ones. And now Next Door is pushing him onto other sites. First Bait Bus – which changed its format to suit him. Now OnTheHunt which I expected better from will feature him and his ego. I’ve said it before the one place gay men shouldn’t be the minority and shouldn’t have to cater to the straights is GAY PORN. It is ours not theirs. If They can’t get with the program and be happy to have the job then they should get out. I think any guy that comes in say “I’m gay for pay and I only top” should be shown the door. If your straight then you should have to do 4 anal scenes before you get any say in what your doing. Then there would be less of these guys making easy money and they would have paid their dues instead of thinking they did the gay boys a favor by getting a blowjob or jerking off on camera.

I’d like everyone to go to OnTheHunt and tell them what a HUGE mistake it is to bow to Cody Cummings. I will be cancelling my membership if they feature him. If I wanted to give him my money I would still be a member of Next Door.

  41. Casey on January 18, 2010 12:24 pm

Well, JC Adams why has bisexuality “fallen out of favor?” Bisexuality is not a trend or a fad. Do you people pick and choose what you want to be called? If so, I’m going to suggest a new name, Retards. Mainly, because you people are. Ask Hudson or Bilding why they do Gay porn and it’s obvious that they will say MONEY. This goes to show that Hudson and Bilding are just as bad as Adonis or Marx in that they both want money out of this whole thing. The only difference between Hudson and Bilding from Adonis and Marx is that the two former have “nice personalities” while the latter two do not.

As for the whole, “The gay porn industry has no more ruined the image or reputation of gay people in general any more than the straight porn biz has for straight people at large.” That’s where you are wrong. Gay porn seems to tie itself to gay rights and such. Your site which is not affiliated with any gay rights organization bears a rainbow for design leading people to believe that you are in fact related to some organization. The gay porn industry fuels the gay club scene and the gay pride parades where they send their porn stars gay or straight, to dance in speedos and show off their “pride”. Let’s take you for example, you report on gay porn news rather than something really newsworthy like Towleroad does or The Advocate. You could put your writing skills to make a online blog about gay rights instead of some blog about some stupid, unemployed retards who don’t know what the unemployment office is. As I stated before in my previous comment, the porn producers are mainly in charge of fueling the fire because they willing know and let these straight guys do porn for them. I guess the only way to end the whole controversy would be for gay guys to boycott their websites. Cause then, maybe they’ll learn that GAY people buy and watch their porn.

I also wanted to address the fact that people are saying that having straight guys in gay porn fulfills fantasies. I heavily disagree. That’s like saying everyone likes a little sugar in their coffee, but in this case it’s a whole lot of sugar because there are many straight guys in gay porn videos and the studios do not market it as a gay porn vid about a gay guy fucking a straight guy or vice versa. They just market it as regular gay porn.

Anyways so yeah, you people need to reflect for a moment and think about something other than money for a while.

Just because a guy gets fucked once in a while or sucks cock once in a while..for $$ or just for fun..doesn’t make him gay, or even bi for that matter.. guys can identify however they like..
I think of it this way.. if a guy doesn’t want to cuddle..doesn’t want to kiss.. isn’t interested in going on a date with another guy.. has NO intention of EVER having any kind of a relationship with a guy other than the occasional sexual one.. then he is str8..

who he has sex with or how he has sex doesn’t have ANYTHING to do with his sexual identity..and i know most gay guys can’t seem to and just don’t want to understand this difference.. but that’s just how it is..

if a guy is boring on screen it doesn’t matter whether he’s gay or str8 or bi..bottom line..he’s just boring..
str8 dudes are a dime a dozen to fuck..i do it all the time.. they aren’t closeted.. just not intop guys other than for sex once in a while.. but for relationship, life and socalizing..they always will be with an opposite sex..
try learning a bit about how the str8 male mind works.. ANY str8 dude is “havable”.. i’m rarely dissappointed when ever i persue a str8 guy.. hehe..mostly all depends on if NO ONE will ever know they had cock in their ass.. if its kept a secret..they are game for it!!

Kevin you’re an idiot. I never have straight sex just for fun. If I did would I still be called gay? Those “str8″ guys you have sex are in fact gay. They are just too afraid to have a relationship with a gay guy. Why else would they have sex with men when there are obviously more women on this planet and almost 100% of them are sluts? You FAIL, next!

  44. Allicide on January 18, 2010 2:20 pm

    TruckerKevin,

From your name I think we know where you are meeting all the “straight” guys. Those men you are fucking and blowing in parks and rest areas aren’t straight just because they have wives waiting at home they are fucked up closet cases who bought into the “men are for fucking but women are for marriage and children” mentality that should be over and done with by 2010. These are the same men that will protest gay rights with their church on Sunday but be on their knees at the gloryhole Monday.

Gay4payers who show nothing but contempt for the gay community are in the same column.

  45. Estelle on January 18, 2010 6:00 pm

How many of these performers are really gay 4 pay anyways? I know people who have seen some of these performers out and about with boyfriends.

I do think that you can be gay and still be a cold fish on camera but if you are pretty enough you can get work.

The industry is struggling now, and it seems that G4P is on its way out. So what does the industry do now? I don’t think that the fanbase that left will come back. If you look at discussion boards, most of the great movies/hottest scenes discussed came from movies that came out years ago.

So how much of it is marketing bullshit. Several directors and performers have said that that majority of it is.

  46. Alto on January 19, 2010 1:07 pm

I like the idea that if you come into gay porn claiming “I’m straight. This is just for money.” that you have to pay some dues before you get to call shots. If you aren’t willing to bottom then why should you expect to get to pound someone else? I don’t buy the straight guys have less ego bull because if they didn’t have the ego then they wouldn’t put those kind of restrictions on what they will do. Gay4Pay performers that don’t do they share of bottoming shouldn’t get work unless they show SERIOUS potential in another way – not just bein pretty but if they can’t physically bottom then they better bo EVERYTHING else that the average gay man would – oral, rimming, touching. When do they make a guy a quaterback if he can’t catch the ball? I know many will argue that “I’m gay and I don’t like to bottom. Why should they?” Because if you recall the arguement is they don’t like gay sex they are doing it for money. So if it isn’t about pleasure or connecting with their partner why should they get to call so many of the shots?

Do you think a gay perfomer would get the preferential treatment that Cody Cummings, Mark Dalton, and Jason Adonis have gotten for YEARS? No, they would call them a drama queen and refuse to work with them. No gay performer is going to able to talk honestly about gay4pay performers if they want to work. They have to give the same line about them being professional, sometimes they have to work with one who needs to get themselves started but gay performers sometimes need help to, etc. They know the story and they can’t speak out about it if they want to work. So the message to gay performers is a sad reflection of the state of gay rights. Gay men are supposed to get fucked by straights, act like we are grateful, and not expect even those in our own community to stand up for each other.

The fact that Cody Cummings site is one of the biggest right now is a clear illustration to them that we gay men as a collective have no self-respect. I’m not talking about Randy Blue where eventually all the guys have sex or leave. I’m not talking about Corbin Fisher who features gay and bi sex. I’m talking about a site thats focus is on a straight guy who fucks women and once a month “allows” a guy to suck his cock for 15 minutes to justify it being pushed on the gay blogs. It is insulting but they are successful because gay men haven’t said “Enough. This is what you have to offer and it isn’t good enough. We aren’t paying for you to fuck girls while you disrepect your male partners. You are the Weakest Link. Goodbye.” But we don’t. Look at who has to work with Cody the same men that work with Tommy D and Mason. If those men want to work with Next Door then they have no choice but to service Cody. I know they would say “no one has to work with someone they don’t want to.” I say bull. If the same person said “I’m not working with Mason” then I bet they would work around. If they want to make more than one video with Next Door then they better be willing to service Cody, and his not-so-gay4pay ego, likely even while staight porn plays beside your ear or while he fucks a chick. It is insulting but gay men keep supporting it.

  47. JVC on January 19, 2010 4:10 pm

The best way for gay men to show their disgust may also be difficult. Ignore the G4P performers and ignore the studios or agencies that hire and promote them. Don’t give any of them another hard-earned cent. If we ignore them, bloggers & porn sites will begin to stop reporting about them and any releases or upcoming scenes they have which will hurt the respective studio’s bottom dollar. The studios, as always, will market according to the current trend (see Falcon’s Str8 Men) and since we will have effectively told them it’s over; the studios will move on.
A majority of people complain how boring gay porn has become. I firmly believe we have to get gay men back into gay porn to bring back the excitement!!

This is my take: I’ll put it here

I looked at some of the twitter discussions last night and really a lot of it confirmed that most of porn is bullshit.

Michael I agree Jeremy Bilding/Ryan Driller is a hypocrite. He put a message on his page about safe sex and wearing a condom yet he doesn’t practice what he preaches in his gay or straight movies. Also a bit deluded to think that he can go back to working with kids after he finishes with porn. No parent would want a porn performer working with their kid. Sorry dude once you start doing hardcore porn there’s a lot things you won’t be able to do when you quit. I don’t necessarily agree with that position but that is how it is.

Just like Leo who thought he could go back to working in the financial industry is now resorting to asking for money on the QC blog. I feel bad for the guy but geez the financial industry is very conservative and can be homophobic.

Both of Jeremy/Ryan’s twitter accounts had his NOH8 photo but when I looked again the Ryan pic had changed. I guess it was too gay. Besides he probably only posed for it to get some publicity out of it and could care less about gay issues and rights.

Wolf posted a lot of things but basically said everyone who didn’t like him were haters. I don’t dislike him or hate him, but again another one that gives these mixed signals. He hates gay sex/he likes to bottom he’s gay for pay he’s bi etc… Like I said before it is a buzzkill when says they don’t like it and are just doing it for a check. That is not hating that is just how I feel. Even if he said he was gay, it wouldn’t change my opinion that he’s a wooden and bland performer. I think Wolf like Jeremy does the whole charity events/gay rights events things for publicity not because he cares. Not the first or last to do that.

Yeah I do think a lot of this is marketed to the closeted and self loathing but the industry is struggling and this and bareback are what is marginally selling now. Torrents and file sharing have taken a huge bite out of business so I think its the survival of the fittest. Despite the influx of the G4P marketing lets remember there are PLENTY of HOT out and proud gay guys that you can watch!

In the end, its something you can be annoyed about but can’t really get upset about, because you can do something about it by not buying their product or visiting their websites etc…To put it another more blunt way, why get upset about a few sex workers/prostitutes that will fade into obscurity sooner then you think.

Lets step back a little and think about of the wonderful, articulate, successful, fabulous and out gay men AND women we have in our community. Tom Ford, Ellen DeGeneres, Roland Emmerich, Bryan Singer, Jane Lynch, Neil Patrick Harris, Rob Halford, Tammy Baldwin, Eric Alva, David Geffen, and Chris Hughes.

Perhaps those are the ones that should be on our floats and leading or parades instead of these (or any other porn star for that matter).

Stepping off my soapbox now. Thank you J.C. Adams for giving us this forum to discuss these things.

JC I hope you don’t mind me linking to other blogs. Here is some info about G4P performer Ryan Rockaway.

    http://queermenow.net/blog/randy-blue-model-ryan-rockford-as-douchebag-on-foursome/#more-12306

He was also profiled on thedirty.com

    http://thedirty.com/2009/01/09/gay_for_pay2121/

Check out the comments from his wife she posts under “truth”. It looks like this guy is despised by a lot of people in his hometown and has an extensive criminal record. If some of the messages are true, some of the male talent that worked with him may want to do a herpes blood test.

It does make me wonder how many other “RYAN ROCKAWAYS” are in this industry and why would anyone support a tool like this? Or a website that employs him?

JC there’s a lengthy discussion about this at datalounge.com for those of you who don’t know it’s one of the oldest GLBT sites on the web and has a sizable following. There are a few active discussions about G4P and most of it is overwhelmingly negative. Sometimes its busy and if you don’t have a membership number you can’t access it but interesting and lengthy discussions.

On a kind of related side note, DL was one of the first blogs to break the story about ex-gay porn star Rod Majors who had become ultra conservative marine and FOX news darling Matt Sanchez. You covered this a few years back.

    http://gaypornwriter.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html

He still comes on DL every once in awhile late at night (and on something) and unleashes a bunch of right wing propaganda.

One final point isn’t it a tad disingenuous to be asking people to vote for you so you can host a gay porn awards show when you don’t like doing gay porn and you’re not gay. Eh I guess whatever helps the bottom line.

  50. steven on January 25, 2010 11:50 pm

Gay performers in regular movies play straight but are expected to keep their personal preference a secret. Sounds fair that non-gay performers in gay porn should keep theirs a secret. “Don’t ask, don’t tell.”

Also, I am really tired of the websites like Randy Blue, Corbin Fisher, etc. that go out of their way to identify the “straight” guys. But when the models are truly gay, they don’t even identify it. So the gay guys are again forced to stay in the closet, while the non-gay guys get to flaunt their preferences all over the place.

I am okay with G4P but when they get the star treatment and we get the scraps, enough is enough. Let’s celebrate the gay models as much or more.
