Press Release Roundup: Nascent production label Jason Sparks Entertainment has inked a distro pact with Barcelona-based Spankmo Mobile. Content from the all-male pro/am website is available through the branded JSE website: CLICK HERE. ‘Chelsea Lately’ Riffs on 3D Gay Porn

Crime Blotter: Following the news this week that performer Damon Audigier has been arrested in connected with the murder of an 18-year-old Oklahoma man, we’ve been fielding requests from Constant Readers and others about the Gay Porn Crime Blotter ©. Some are speculating about a direct correlation between violent crime and porn performers and I’m not sure I can go there — most violent criminals aren’t porn actors, after all — and would instead suggest that our increasingly wired interwebbed world means that such tragic, sordid stories receive far more attention than ever before. (However, it’s probably worth exploring why so many all-male adult performers who commit crimes are gay-for-pay.) C1R, Corbin Fisher, Titan Sue Tube Sites

Press Release Roundup: All-male adult companies Channel 1 Releasing, Corbin Fisher and Titan Media have pooled resources in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco against three tube websites: GayForIt.com, ItsAllGay.com and JerkYourTube.com. The lawsuit seeks $29.1 million in damages from the companies GLBT Ltd., Mash & New Ltd. and Port 80 Ltd. as well as the individuals David Graham Compton and Steven John Compton, on the grounds of copyright infringement, contributory copyright infringement, trademark infringement, misappropriation of rights of publicity, unfair business practices and related claims. The Comptons “not only are known as operators of the three similar-formatted sites, but the pair recently rolled out COP-CMS, a software program that proclaims to protect adult studios from copyright infringement,” XBIZ reports. The three studios grouping to file the lawsuit came about “quite organically,” Titan Media General Counsel Gill Sperlein told me. “Titan has been fighting piracy for years. Corbin Fisher recently hired my good friend Marc Randazza to help them better protect [their] content. Channel 1 Releasing and Titan have had close ties for years.” Mr. Sperlein said he, Randazza and C1R reps “were talking after a piracy forum and we all said, ‘Let’s do something.’” More all-male adult studios have recently stepped up their anti-piracy efforts, such as Flava Works and Pitbull Productions (see the links below).

FSC Talks Anti-Piracy Program at Phoenix Forum

Press Release Roundup: Adult-biz advocacy org the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) will tout its Anti-Piracy Action Program (APAP) during a panel at the Phoenix Forum Saturday, April 10. Unveiled last month, the APAP (as we wrote last month) is software developed to allow adult companies to track their branded content on the internet. It was developed in participation with attorney Gill Sperlein (also general counsel for Titan Media) and production houses Channel 1 Releasing and Wicked Pictures, among others, as well as copyright infringement software company Vobile. Fees for the software will initially be determined by the amount of content tracked. Mr. Sperlein will join FSC Executive Director Diane Duke and Vobile reps Kasey Cassidy and Manni Nagi. The FSC plans to launch APAP on April 1 and the Phoenix Forum panel is intended to familiarize adult entertainment producers and providers with its capabilities. The Phoenix Forum is set for April 8-10 at the Tempe Mission Palms hotel (60 E. Fifth Street) in Tempe, Arizona. Premium sponsors for the networking conference include affiliate programs such as Playboy‘s Adult Cash and Pussy Cash, hosting company National Net and trade publication XBIZ.

Damon Audigier Arrested in Connection to Murder

Crime Blotter: Performer Damon Audigier was arrested early Sunday morning in El Reno, Oklahoma, and faces charges stemming from the stabbing death of an 18-year-old man, including conspiracy to commit murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and malicious injury to property. Taken into custody alongside Audigier, 19, was Jeremy Pendleton, 28, who faces similar charges, including first-degree murder. According to a local media report, the victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin. Details of his relationship to Pendleton and Audigier, whose real name is Damon L. Richey, are not fully known. El Reno police had initially responded to a vandalism complaint Sunday morning. “They saw a black car leaving the location and stopped the vehicle. One of the car’s occupants [Pendleton] ran on foot but was caught a few blocks away,” notes a media report. “Upon further investigation at the house, police found [the victim] who was pronounced dead at the scene from what appeared to be a stab wound.” The Sword was first to break the news that Richey had been arrested. Damon Audigier was on the roster of Ft. Lauderdale-based talent management agency FabScout Entertainment, whose rep tells me a friend notified FabScout that Audigier had been arrested; he had been scheduled to film this week. Following a 2009 debut, Audigier shot for a variety of web-based studios such as Bait Buddies, CitiBoyz and Haze Him and appeared in such sexpics as ROAD TRIP 14: HOLLYWOOD (Jocks Studios) and PLAYING WITH FIRE: 4-ALARM (All Worlds Platinum Collection). His most recent Twitter post was Saturday night.

Dept of WEHT: I’ve been talking to model Troy Michaels this week. Several months ago, we mentioned the tall drink of water was looking to kick-start his skin-biz career. As we wrote then, Mr. Michaels has been “offscreen for quite awhile now: 2002’s FINISH ME OFF (Rascal Video) and DUKE MILLER’S LUMBERJACK GANG BANG (Big Blue Productions) were among his last DVDs. New Release Desk: 3D is all the rage right now in mainstream cinema; in fact, there is already controversy as cash-strapped exhibitors and money-hungry distributors trip over each other to jack up ticket prices. 3D has already quietly begun appearing here and there in the porn world and only Dominic Ford is currently exploring its possibilities and limitations in GayPornLand. We’ve been blogging about the label’s first full-length 3D sexpic for the past year and it’s available now: The Harry Potter spoof WHORREY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S BALLS. They’ve set up a promotional microsite to tout the film at WhorreyPotter.com. Pre-orders ship this week with Euro Media Distribution handling wholesale. As noted on the website, WHORREY POTTER appears to be the first gay porn flick shot entirely on green screen (writer-director Jerry Douglas experimented with several green screen scenes in his espionage thriller TOP SECRET back in 2000). WHORREY POTTER has also been released in “side-by-side 3D format” which makes it compatible with the newly released 3D television sets. First Legal Male ‘Prosti-Dude’ Quits Job

America’s first legal male prostitute — a “prosti-dude” — has moved on to greener pastures. The singly named Markus gave notice earlier this month after about two months on the job at the Shady Lady Ranch in Nye County, Nevada. He had drawn “fewer than 10 customers” the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports, and has been replaced by a thirtysomething man who uses the stage name “Y. Not.” The Shady Lady’s owner, Bobbi Davis, says “(i)t was a mutual decision” to part ways with Markus, noting that he has moved to Southern California to pursue a career in adult films. Upon receiving approval to offer his services, Markus and the Shady Lady received worldwide media scrutiny. One of his female customers “turned out to be an undercover reporter from the New York Post who took pictures of Markus and wrote an unflattering, first-person account of her two hours with him,” the LVRJ writes. Ms. Davis feels the media attacks were “more than unfair; it was a double-standard. Several papers just cremated him. If it was a woman, they never would have gotten away with it.” A number of “working women” from the area also expressed anger and dismay at their new co-worker. “They were unmerciful. I don’t know why,” Ms. Davis said. “It’s not like they’re competing for the same customers.” For the time being, her establishment will continue to offer the services of a male escort.
