They were headliners this past Thursday, July 29, for Cocktails with the Stars at Micky’s nightclub in West Hollywood. Jason Pitt Retires from Onscreen Sexcapades

Press Release Roundup: Performer Jason Pitt announced this week that he will retire from blue movies following the release of LITTLE BIG LEAGUE 4: GRAND SLAM on the All Worlds Platinum Collection label via Channel 1 Releasing (C1R). He is featured in a duo opposite studio exclusive Jimmy Durano. Pitt blogged on his personal website that he is signed to a modeling agency and will soon begin acting classes. However, he notes the launch of Jason Pitt Inc. is set for December 6 to coincide with his 21st birthday. “I no longer want to be in an industry that doesn’t care. I no longer want to be the person who goes to events and watches other entertainers/models get plastered and high on drugs when they are supposed to be representing a studio or even representing themselves,” he said in a statement that was circulated by C1R. “This industry is getting worse, maybe not in front of the camera but behind the scenes and prep for porn production has gotten sloppy and unsafe.” Pitt did not elaborate on the latter statement. Further, he said, “Studios are using pretty much anyone who walks in off the streets. More and more people that I know and are close to are turning up positive. I see very few models who actually have a plan for their future… Everything is going to be completely different with my studio.” Pitt has been featured in roughly 15 blue movies and compilations, as well as a number of web-exclusive episodes, following his erotic debut in 2008. In related news, performer Josh Griffin has announced his retirement from sexpics following the release of LOCKER ROOM SPY GUY for Jet Set Men.

Black Models, Gay Porn & Racism: Debate Rages On

[Edits: 08/02/10.] This past Monday we posted an entry noting the brouhaha that had erupted over an article published last week by Cybersocket magazine that named 40 all-male porn performers of note for the first half of 2010. There were no black models listed, for which several bloggers took Cybersocket to task. Our entry sparked more than three dozen comments (and counting) as well as numerous blog entries from others in and around the biz. The most recent is retired performer and provocateur Tre Xavier. Falcon Site Gets Buddy Profits Revamp

A few of our Constant Readers have noticed a facelift to the official Falcon Studios website, which has been underway for some months. It’s true, the site has been revamped and is now under the auspices of Buddy Profits, whose Next Door Entertainment production arm unveiled a content partnership deal with the venerable San Francisco-based studio back in April (see the link below). It was announced the two companies would “work cooperatively to develop and launch an innovative new digital strategy for Falcon and its family of well-known brands. The partnership will include Falcon continuing to produce original content while Next Door will become the provider of membership sites, online marketing and affiliate management,” with Falcon President Steve Johnson noting their transition to becoming “a truly online company.” Falcon joins such all-male studios as COLT Studio Group and Elite Male in partnering with Next Door Entertainment, as well as branded paysites centered on Cody Cummings, the Visconti Triplets and Mason Wyler.

Michael Lucas: ‘Marriage’ a Bad Word?

Performer-mogul Michael Lucas‘ latest op-ed column for The Advocate is titled “Marriage is a Bad Word” and argues that battles between progressives and conservatives over use of the word “marriage” distracts from the larger issues at stake. (Mr. Lucas married his partner in October 2008, a ceremony I attended.) “Those who stand against gay marriage are not all little red monsters. Many are just conservative people. If you ask them if gays and lesbians should be allowed to marry, most will say no,” he says. “But if you ask them, ‘Should gays and lesbians have the same rights?’ many will say yes. I am not saying that this conversation will be easy… But it’s the only conversation that has a chance to succeed in the foreseeable future, and by fighting for marriage at all costs, the LGBT leadership has made it impossible to achieve equality. That’s criminal and elitist. The wealthy in our community can hire the lawyers who will create a framework around their relationships, their adoptions, their inheritances, and so on. RIP: Performer Shane Risk

We have more sad news to report: GPTimes has confirmed that performer Shane Risk has died. The news has been on the blogosphere, but it took us several days to verify certain details. He passed Monday, July 26 at home in West Hollywood, which we confirmed via a print source. He was 25 years old. The cause of death has not been officially released. Shane’s erotic output was small, just one film—last year’s TAKEN: TO THE LOWEST LEVEL—plus a compilation and nine or ten webcam episodes for the Channel 1 Releasing site. Shane was also known and celebrated for his gifts as a singer and musician. He was briefly signed to DV8 Casting, whose Jason Sechrest shares a few personal memories on his blog. Funeral services are being held tomorrow (Friday). We are withholding his birth name by personal request. Our condolences to his family, friends and fans. Memorial contributions are being made in his name; contact me for details.
