Sneak Peek: Monroe, Heart Induct Durano
July 23, 2010 | 2 Comments

Sneak Peek: Directrix Chi Chi LaRue has been Tweeting like a songbird over the fact that both Roman Heart and Dean Monroe are in Los Angeles and staying with her whilst they film new sexpics for Channel 1 Releasing (Mr. Heart on loan from Falcon Studios). The gorgeous erotic idols were paired with C1R newcomer Jimmy Durano. “I say here and now Mr. Durano is going to be a superstar. He held his own with the two masters,” Ms. LaRue blogged the other day. The dragstress was feeling verklempt because she last directed Messrs. Heart and Monroe five years ago for Falcon’s HEAVEN AND HELL. I remember doing a set visit on that film. Was it really 2005? Time doth flit. I’ll have more about C1R’s new sexpics starring Brent Everett later on. CLICK HERE to visit Ms. LaRue’s blog. Click the images to enlarge.

Indie publisher Blood Moon Productions has snagged a sizable burst of gay-gossip blogosphere attention for the new book Hollywood Babylon Strikes Again!. The tell-all apparently touts a torrid two-month affair the late Christopher Reeve carried on back in the mid-1970s with legendary erotic icon Casey Donovan, when Reeve was a struggling actor and Mr. Donovan at the height of his BOYS IN THE SAND fame. The book apparently quotes from an interview with Donovan (whose real name was Cal Culver), who said, “Christopher was a great lover and I think I liberated him sexually. I didn’t think he was gay but he seemed willing to try anything once. He was curious.” They apparently broke up when Reeve learned of Donovan’s blue-movie stardom.

Sagat’s ‘Zombie’ Aussie Fight Going Viral
July 22, 2010 | 4 Comments
The news that pornster Francois Sagat‘s indie flick L.A. Zombie was disinvited from the Melbourne International Film Festival broke just a couple of days ago and has already begun to go viral. We wrote it up on Tuesday—writer/director Bruce LaBruce saw our story and posted his mild objection to our use of the word “banned” on Twitter. Point taken—as the story was spreading across the blogosphere. Now the Popwatch blog on Entertainment Weekly‘s website, of all places, has taken note. They even have a poll titled “What’s So Controversial about Gay Zombie Porn?” Notes blogger Darren Franich, “Americans are taught from an early age that Canadians are boringly nice Celine Dion fans and Australians are liberated hippie mer-people. Kids, the stereotypes are false!” Mr. LaBruce said he’s given four interviews (and counting) to Australian radio on the controversy, adding that L.A. Zombie is “a movie that reaffirms life.” Gotta thank the Aussie censors for buying Messrs. Sagat and LaBruce a gold mine of publicity. CLICK HERE for the EW.com story.

Sneak Peek: Beefy Mark Talon
July 22, 2010 | 3 Comments

Sneak Peek: Check out brand-spanking-new, grade-A slab of beefcake Mark Talon. He’s going to be appearing in a Massive Studio sexpic fairly soon. Falcon Studios and helmer John Bruno (who provided the right-hand snap) have been Twitter-ing about Mr. Talon for the past couple of days. His smile reminds me of a blue movie star whose name I can’t put my finger on right now, but otherwise he could be the brother or cousin of Maxx Diesel (a.k.a. Christian XX.)

Beauty Shot: Chris Porter on the Job
July 22, 2010 | 4 Comments
Beauty Shot: Newbie pup Chris Porter twatted this snap last night on his Twitter stream. It was shot during production for Raging Stallion Studios in San Francisco. I believe the proper response in Twitspeak is HAAAWWWT!!! (did I get that right?) He also wrote later about “a very special performance” with Kennedy Carter and Bruno Bond set for this Saturday night’s Up Your Alley festival. My bottom hurts just thinkin’ about it… Click to embiggen.

Mason Wyler Gets ‘TKO’ on NakedSword
July 21, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Press Release Roundup: Membership paysite NakedSword sent out their monthly newsletter the other day and among the teases for upcoming content was this notice: “Don’t miss one of Mason Wyler‘s first films, TKO, coming July 28 from Studio 2000, where he plays a boxer. If fake violence isn’t your thing, check out the 12 other Mason Wyler movies we’ve got in the NakedSword library.” As longtime Constant Readers are aware, I directed TKO in late 2007 (it was released in early ’08) and hired Mr. Wyler for the sexpic. There isn’t any actual boxing in this blue movie—only fucking—so don’t worry about “fake violence.” Costars include Devin Bleu, Ludovic Canot, Steve Carlisle (whatever happened to him?), Jake Havoc, Christian Owen, Dominik Rider, Trevor Saint and Marc Williams. Most of the sexcapades were filmed in actual boxing gyms around Los Angeles. Like most movies, of course, TKO is not without its flaws. But I think it’s one of my better directorial efforts.

Raging Stallion, NakedSword Go ‘Up Your Alley’
July 21, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Press Release Roundup: The 2010 Up Your Alley Fair is set for this Sunday, July 25, in San Francisco. Pornsters repping local production house Raging Stallion Studios will man a booth at the festival as well as an afterparty at a local nightclub. Models set to press the flesh include Dane Carraggio, Kennedy Carter, Chris Porter, Cole Streets and Christian Wilde. The all-day leather-themed festivities include nightclub event “Horse” at Truck Bar to be emceed by Sister Roma of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence—as well as the art director for Hot House Entertainment—with membership paysite NakedSword serving as co-sponsor and Wet lubricants offering up giveaways. “Exhibitionists and potential porn stars will be able to compete in a ‘big bulge’ contest,” a site rep said. Notes NakedSword CEO Tim Valenti, “Sponsoring this only-in-San-Francisco event is the easiest way to give back to the community. It’s one of the most fun—as well as the raunchiest—weekends of the year and we’d never miss this opportunity to connect fans with their favorite porn stars.” The festival is located on Dore Alley in the city’s SoMa (South of Market) district. CLICK HERE for their official website. The Up Your Alley parent company is Folsom Street Events, which also sponsors the Folsom Street Fair at the end of September. This year’s roster of activities includes the 2010 GAYVN Awards, set for September 24.

Owen, Cutler, Freitas are ‘Hung’ in WeHo
July 21, 2010 | 2 Comments
Press Release Roundup: This is a re-post of a story we ran last week. Pornster-turned-DJ (and longtime pal) Christian Owen will be back in West Hollywood tonight, July 21, for the “Hung” nightclub event at Micky’s. He is set to be joined — click the image to embiggen — by Drew Cutler, Alexsander Freitas, Cameron Marshall and Dayton O’Conner, plus someone called “Go-Go Chris.” Mr. Owen is touting some kind of porn-star-vs.-go-go-boys throwndown, which works out just fine for me, whatever happens. Note the tagline: “Sex Sells (*Unfortunately We Sell Alcohol)” (you may not legally combine nudity with the sale of alcohol in Los Angeles or the fabric of time shall rip apart). I said it last week, and I mean it: How insane does Alexsander Freitas look in a jock strap, anyway?

Sagat’s ‘L.A. Zombie’ Dumped from Melbourne Fest
July 20, 2010 | 5 Comments
The indie flick L.A. Zombie starring pornster Francois Sagat has been turned away from the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF). Fest director Richard Moore said L.A. Zombie “could not be screened as it would be refused classification” by the local Film Classification Board. It had been scheduled for Saturday, August 7; the festival runs from July 22 through August 8. A synopsis of the film in the MIFF program—”an adventure in cinema’s most unmarketable subgenre: gay zombie porn”—was enough to draw the Film Classification Board’s attention. It is the first film to be banned in seven years, following 2003′s Kids by Larry Clark. Moore said filmmaker Bruce LaBruce‘s “blend of sex and violence can be confronting, but I would argue that within the context of the festival, it is nonsensical and patronising to not allow people to decide what they want to see.” MIFF organizers have not, as yet, decided whether to appeal the decision, a process that could cost several thousand dollars. In any case, L.A. Zombie will have its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in several weeks.

New Release Desk: ‘Jocks Layover Los Angeles 2′
July 20, 2010 | 1 Comment
New Release Desk: Just last month we posted about sexy young newcomer Christian Wilde and his toplining gig in JOCKS LAYOVER: LOS ANGELES for Falcon Studios’ subsidiary Jocks Studios line. Now Falcon is touting PART TWO with Tommy Defendi. He’s paired with cuties Jayden Grey and the singly named Darin in the first two of four hardcore episodes and returns to close out the film for a “bonus” solo wank. Zach Alexander also pulls double duty, bottoming for Mario Costa and anchoring a threesome for Brent Biscayne and Justin Cox. Messrs. Costa, Cox and Darin also appear in PART ONE. The DVD is in pre-order although each scene is streaming online: CLICK HERE. Plot has something to do with being horny and stuck on a layover in the City of Angels, etc. I wonder if you can trade frequent flyer miles—or earn ‘em—for this kind of action?

Video 10 Resurfaces with Catalog Sale
July 20, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Press Release Roundup: Back in April, I wrote about the surprise resurfacing of boutique wholesaler Video 10. The distributor, based in Hollywood, had been a ubiquitous presence on the blue movie scene throughout the ’90s but has been quiescent for some years now. Then came the release of MEAT PACKERS #46, a solo wank video with Latino talent. This week they’re back with news of a $3.00-per-DVD sale on a back catalog that includes Alexander Pictures, Brigade Studios, Galaxy Pictures, Grey Rose Productions, Pau Brasil Productions, Scorpion Entertainment and Tenderloin Productions, among others. A handful of the Brigade, Scorpion and Tenderloin sexpics are apparently new to DVD. The sale is intended for the wholesale market. Video 10 currently has no retail website for individual sales—CLICK HERE for a site that offers VOD streaming for select titles.

Softcore Stud Peter Le Seeks Reality TV Success
July 19, 2010 | 4 Comments

We’ve been talking a lot over the past year about the ever-increasing flood of male pro/am porn performers and models into the wackadoo world of reality television. The most recent and prominent example is Steven Daigle (see the links below). But now there’s Peter Le, a gorgeous and musclebound model who prominently figures in a reality-television pilot that has been termed by some in the blogosphere as “Jersey Shore with Asians.” The show is called K-Town and was produced by singer-actor Tyrese for MTV. It hasn’t yet gone to series, but K-Town is receiving a round of gay-gossip blog attention thanks to Peter Le—also known to readers of the now-defunct Freshmen magazine back in 2002 as Kato Lee. Mr. Le hasn’t made the leap to hardcore porn just yet but he shows off an awful lot of that spectacular physique at PeterFever.com, his own website. Le has been coy about his sexuality, another trick straight out of the gay-for-pay playbook. In addition to Freshmen, he has appeared in pictorials for Torso and Playgirl and has professed an interest in shooting both gay and straight hardcore porn. CLICK HERE for Freshmen pics via The Sword. Despite the title, and the show’s setting in and around L.A.’s Koreatown, Peter Le is actually Vietnamese. (Natch, he’s also on Twitter.) It’s rare enough to have an Asian adult-biz performer make a name for himself, so it would be doubly unusual if Le also achieved some measure of reality television stardom, too.
