GPTimes: Top Stories of 2010

As we wind down the final hours of 2010—at least in this part of our little blue-green marble—here’s a quick look at the most heavily trafficked stories on GPTimes. I decided to extend the list to 15 for the heck of it, but the list actually numbers 16 because the final two were virtually identical in numbers. The top story, far and away, no question, had to do with the vintage COLT Studio clips seen in the indie flick The Kids Are All Right. Tons of traffic still coming in for that one. Three of our top stories were interviews with former “male madam” and talent manager David Forest. ‘Business of Sex’ Doc Features Lucas Kazan Studs

Porn Awards: XBIZ, Cybersocket, Grabbys Update

Porn Awards: A quick porn awards update this morning for you. The 11th Annual Cybersocket Web Awards is scheduled for Monday, February 7, 2011 at The Factory in West Hollywood. Various pornsters are to make an appearance—Jeremy Bilding, Michael Brandon, Samuel Colt, Landon Conrad, Cody Cummings, Roman Heart, Trent Locke, Kameron Scott, Diesel Washington, among others—and Frenchie Davis is scheduled to perform. Anti-Piracy ‘Porn Guardian’ Touts XBIZ Awards Nom

Press Release Roundup: 3D web studio Dominic Ford is touting a 2011 XBIZ Awards nomination for its Porn Guardian anti-piracy service. “In only four short months, Porn Guardian has signed the biggest names in the adult industry and become a leader in the community’s fight against internet piracy,” reads today’s announcement. “Porn Guardian has successfully shut down two major blogs that were actively promoting illegal file sharing.” Eponymous studio owner Dominic Ford said the sites “will surely rebuild” but notes it is easier to scrub newly pirated content when older content is no longer on offer. “Doing a clean sweep makes it easier to patrol for new postings,” he said. “We have been given permission by companies who are not our clients to act on their behalf. In many cases, these companies are already being protected by another anti-piracy service, but we are finding some of their files that have been live for months or even longer.” Company partner Peter Phinney thanked the industry publication for recognizing their early efforts. “We were overjoyed when we heard the news,” he said. “We offer the industry’s best client reporting and interface, we’re very proud of what we do and we’re deeply honored that XBIZ saw fit to nominate us in our first year of operation.” Porn Guardian this week snagged the XBIZ Awards nomination for Innovative Web Product of the Year while its parent studio is up for three awards, including Gay Web Company of the Year. Bel Ami Stud in Hungarian ‘Big Brother’ House

Some eagle-eyed porn fans on the interwebs have noticed Jerzy, one of the studs currently featured on Való Világ, a Hungarian-television riff on Big Brother, resembled a onetime Bel Ami model named Marek Pietrak. I’ve spent time in Budapest working with Bel Ami’s staff there, so I rang ‘em up for confirmation. “Yes, we saw the stories about Marek. He made only one photoset for us, nothing more,” I’m told. “This show is the same as your Big Brother. Everyone is okay with it here.” Constant Readers will recall that gorgeous stud Tommy Hansen put Bel Ami in the European tabloids for months back in 2005 when he was cast on the Czech version of Big Brother (he finished third and remains a Czech celeb to this day). Craigslist Shutters Int’l Adult Services Ads

Megasite Craigslist has apparently moved to shut down its international “Adult Services” section. The company removed its “Erotic Services” category in 2009 in the wake of legal pressures, and replaced it with a tamer category buttressed with security controls and legal review. But just a few months ago the section was shuttered entirely. “Now, Craigslist has quietly removed the section in all its international sites, including those in Canada, Asia, Europe, South America and Africa,” notes Wired.com. “When Craigslist shut down the section in the U.S., it defiantly replaced the section with the word ‘censored,’ but the international shutdown came with no such protest and no announcement.” Wired notes the company’s adult sections were not illegal, but had become a preferred target of several attorneys general nonetheless. Adult companies relied heavily on free Craiglist ads for casting performers (such as Brady Jensen).
