AEBN Acquires Studio 2000 Catalog, Assets

Press Release Roundup: VOD giant AEBN.net announced today it has acquired the catalog and assets of Studio 2000, adding it to an all-male adult portfolio that includes Raging Stallion Studios and Falcon Studios; the latter two labels were merged late in 2010. The move makes AEBN one of the biggest players in gay adult entertainment with properties that encompass several of the industry’s best-known production labels, a large affiliate network and numerous VOD membership sites. Studio 2000 was founded in 1993 by industry pioneers Scott Masters and John Travis. They retired and sold the company five years ago; just last month, following a period of dormancy, S2K announced it had gone out of business (see the link below). Constant Readers will recall I was S2K’s production manger from 2006-08. Some 180 titles will be added to the AEBN, NakedSword and SexGaymes VOD menus. No decision has been made about whether new titles will be produced under the S2K label, per today’s announcement. “The Studio 2000 library holds significant titles, including DREAM TEAM, which won the GayVN Best Picture award in 1999. John Travis and Scott Masters are two of the greatest names in porn history. We are thrilled to add them to our library,” said Falcon-Raging Stallion President Chris Ward.

Well won’t it be fun a couple years from now when they have to cancel award shows because there will only be one MEGAstudio making films? I’m sure there are a couple FAT cats sitting back thinking the porn biz is just an easy version of monopoly but when there is a huge consumer backlash and NO ONE pays for porn lets see what they buy to fix that little problem.
I heard Chris Ward just bought the name Chi Chi LaRue so he could start directing under a few different names. Is it true???

Studio 2000 had some hot movies and hot stars in them including some directed by someone named JC ADAMS.
I remember seeing a hot little blonde guy with spiked hair and stars on his chest and thinking man he is hot wonder if he will ever amount to anything…thank god he did. Love Rod Daily.
@T-Bird — Thanks for the reminder! Rod Daily DID get his start at S2K, didn’t he? Or at least it was very early in his career. I remember when his first sets of pictures came back from the photographer. There was some question, early on, as to whether he had the goods as a performer. He clearly put THAT issue to bed. So to speak.

The boutique company went under earlier this year and was snapped up by VOD network AEBN. Many of the films in their catalog were folded into the SexGaymes paysite in the GunzBlazing network. One of my last films there was the boxing themed T.K.O. and one of its scenes popped up the other day on the GunzBlazing email blast.
