Governator Drama Snags Erotica Legend Paul Barresi

Who would have thought the Arnold Schwarzenegger mishegoss currently playing out in the news would have a gay porn connection? But it does, at least tangentially. An article on the Huffington Post examines how the ex-Governator could have hidden his bird-dogging for so long. “Any Hollywood insider can tell you, there’s one person who’s done more than anyone else to shield Schwarzenegger from negative publicity. Marty ‘Mad Dog’ Singer is an attorney to the stars, a so-called Hollywood pit bull who’s amassed a fortune by going after publications that print—or even just consider printing—unflattering things about his clients,” notes HuffPo. Then there’s Anthony Pellicano, “the Hollywood private investigator who was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2008 for an array of charges that included illegal wiretapping and racketeering.” A journalist writing a book about Pellicano claims Schwarzenegger also retained the services of Mr. Barresi, “a former porn star turned private investigator and longtime Pellicano associate who’d reportedly worked with Singer. Barresi could not be reached for comment.” The article does relay a bit of what he dug up. Do read the entire piece. By the way, it’s now available online after having nearly disappeared down the memory hole. The Free Speech Coalition, the adult industry trade organization, has called a second industrywide meeting in as many months to discuss “STD testing protocol and workplace safety,” a rep said. The meetings have taken on added urgency with the closure earlier this month of AIM Healthcare due to legal harassment, among other reasons (see the link below for background). FSC reps are calling in “performers, producers, agents and other industry members” to discuss plans for APHSS—an acronym for Adult Production Health & Safety Services. In conjunction with industry stakeholders, the FSC said they are developing “a solid program that will fill in the gaps from AIM’s closure,” said Executive Director Diane Duke, noting “this is an essential meeting to attend” for the production side of adult entertainment. The meeting is currently scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, at the Sportsmen’s Lodge Event Center located at 12833 Ventura Boulevard, Studio City. As we blogged a few months ago, the oversize—natch—tome was edited by Dian Hanson and originally published in 2008. It features classic work by such pioneering erotica photographers as Bob Mizer of Athletic Model Guild and David Hurles of Old Reliable, plus COLT Studio, Falcon Studios and vintage photos from nearly forgotten companies like Champion Studios and Sierra Domino. Our very own Chad Hunt was chosen to bulge out of his briefs for the cover. Pictured are a couple of snaps from the party via the L.A. Weekly (“hundreds of attendees lined the walls, paying more attention to the WeHo go-go boys than the fine art titles behind them”). Serving as celebrity DJ was Chi Chi LaRue.
