Reality TV: Straight Porn OK, Gay Porn a Disaster

Although their identities leaked to the interwebs months ago, this week CBS officially announced the cast of Survivor: South Pacific. Returning for a third shot at the brass ring is Oscar “Ozzy” Lusth. I bring him up because he continues to be cast on a flagship show like Survivor despite having fucked on camera—heterosexually—for another reality project, Playboy TV‘s Foursome. (By the way, that’s the same show that saw side of beef Dunbar Flinn of The Real World: Sydney and The Challenge fame go blue.) Mr. Lusth’s erotic past in straight porn has not caused so much as a ripple in the blogosphere and yet the sky veritably rained blood when The Real World: Las Vegas castmate Dustin Zito‘s all-male porn work came to light earlier this year. No big surprise that the straight guy gets off the hook. The gay community is much more likely to eat their young.
I agree with you JC and with Ron. The world stopped when people found out Dustin Zito doing gay porn. I bet you during the reunion show for Survivor they will not say a single word about him working on Playboy TV. That’s bullshit.
I believe you have to make a distinction between “simulated” sex like that shown by Playboy and actual sex which shows penetration and ejaculation like that done by Zito. It might not seem like a big deal but it makes a difference.
Zito’s problem was not gay porn; it was his delusional denial of it despite countless pictures of him sucking cock and surrendering ass. He was an idiot and a hypocrite about his porn past; that’s what brought the backlash.
